2003 BMW E85 3.0L 6sp manual M SportI've owned my 2003 3.0i 6sp E85 for almost 9 years. Equipped w/ M Sport option, 18" staggered alloys and painted in a beautiful Toledo Blue. Yes the car has need some maintenance, some worn parts replaced, but nothing too surprising or extraordinary expensive aside from tires. I'm in my 60's and still do most of my own work. Love the ride, the style, 6sp manual transmission, the power, the smoothness of the car in general. Would I recommend this car? Only to those that love a car that YOU want to drive. NO AI frills to distract one. Just a pure driving experience.

Best car I've ever owned!!!Where can I begin? - I first owned a 1968 Shelby 350, then went to Pontiac for their Trans-Am models until 2000 when I bought my first BMW 3 in 2000. In 2003, I completely changed brands to BMW with my Z4. 2nd Day of production, I was in BMW's factory in Spartanburg,SC to witness her birth. Afterwards, we spent our first moments together on BMW's nearby test track. After those all too brief moments, she was wrapped & packaged to be delivered to my dealer in AZ. The days I spent waiting in AZ seemed endless as I waited to bring her into my home. She now has a special space in my garage. It may sound somewhat anthropomorphic but BMW creates a product which becomes part of your life. Own a BMW and be prepared to have it become part of Your Family.

Made a mistake buying 2003 modelThe 2003 model, being a new design, came with many faults which I learned at 74K miles. Had problems with alignment, air cond/heater system, top did not operate electrically, tires worn unevenly, air bag sensor. I paid a premium price for this car and another 4K to get all the things repaired which I found after driving it a couple thousand miles. Mechanical costs too much for me. I lost a ton when I traded it.

The stock coils garbage. Replaced mine @70k kmLove how it handles now after upgrading to 18 inchers with Michelin Pilot Sports. It's a bit underpowered with the 2.5 but certainly adequate. Will still top out at 236 kph! Keep up with maintenance on these cars otherwise they'll bite you. Check forums for items.

Best vehicular purchase I've ever made.These are amazing cars in my opinion. With so many options that are included in even the base models, truly impressive work the additional available packages. I was lucky enough to find a 2003 with 68,000 miles for just under $8,000... this was a couple years ago. It valued at $11,000 with all the options it has (convenience package, premium sound package, sport package, etc), and all values just about the same or a tad higher. With some of these options, you can adjust our turn off the traction control, or various other features in case you have s different driving requirement or style lol. Final comment on this; just a couple of days ago I was pulled over by a motorcycle officer running a speed trap. The very first thing he said to me was "Ok, so this obviously isn't a 2003... what's going on with it?" Lol you get that a lot with these cars.

Best bang for your buckThis is a sexy little sports car, great for if you’re new to sports cars but still holds its own in performance. The inline 6 has great acceleration while the smaller, lighter body is great for handling. Take this on a windy mountain road and you’ll feel like a race car driver(I recommend the manual trans for an authentic feel and better mpg/performance). Downside is the interior. Hopefully you’re not over 6 foot as you will not be able to fit in the car. Also lacks storage and good cup holders in the cabin. But overall it’s a great car, fun to drive and easy to modify.

Best bang for the buck you can get.Have had many sports cars through the years. This one is fun and reliable. The straight six sounds great and has quite a bit of low end torque. Get one.
