The Good
The 2017 Volvo V60 offers a compelling blend of practicality and luxury. Performance is adequate to strong, especially in T6 models. The comfortable interior and stylish design appeal emotionally, while reliability (generally good), efficiency (decent for its class), and cargo capacity satisfy practical needs. Volvo's safety reputation further enhances its appeal.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2017 Volvo V60 include its infotainment system, which can feel dated compared to rivals. Some owners have reported issues with electronic systems. The rear seat legroom isn't as generous as some competitors. Also, repair costs can be higher than average due to Volvo's brand and the availability of parts.

What Problems Does the 2017 Volvo V60 Have?
While the Volvo V60 generally enjoys decent reliability, potential long-term concerns include the turbocharged and supercharged engines (particularly the T6) requiring careful maintenance to avoid issues related to the forced induction systems. Oil consumption can be a concern in some engines, so regular monitoring is recommended.
Recalls can vary, and it's best to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for the most up-to-date information specific to the 2017 model year. Common recall items across various Volvo models have involved airbag systems, fuel pumps, and software glitches. It's crucial to ensure any outstanding recall work has been completed before purchasing a used V60. Overall, staying on top of scheduled maintenance and addressing issues promptly can help mitigate potential long-term reliability concerns.
How long will the 2017 Volvo V60 last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are a Volvo hallmark. Standard equipment included City Safety, a collision mitigation system. Optional features included adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors. These systems contribute to a safer driving experience.
Safety is a key strength. The 2017 Volvo V60 generally received good crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA, although ratings can vary depending on specific tests and model configurations. Features like multiple airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control are standard. Volvo's commitment to safety makes the V60 a reassuring choice. Note that specific crash test ratings should be verified on the IIHS and NHTSA websites for the most accurate information.

How Does the 2017 Volvo V60 Compare to Other Wagon?
Reliability is generally good, but the German rivals have a slight edge in some surveys. Price-wise, the V60 often offers a slightly better value proposition than the German wagons, especially on the used market. Alternatives to consider include the Subaru Outback for more rugged capability and significantly lower ownership costs, or a newer Volvo V60 (if budget allows) for updated technology and improved efficiency. If performance is a top priority, the BMW is a better choice. For a blend of luxury, safety, and value, the V60 remains a compelling option.

Final Verdict: Is the 2017 Volvo V60 a Good Wagon?

great styleI bought the car used from a non-Volvo dealer. I have not been driving much due to the pandemic, but a couple of computer glitches have arisen. I took the car into a Volvo dealer for service on the issue, thank goodness the car is still under warranty. The problem with the auto start-stop feature wasn't working, it was "fixed" but the problem has reoccurred intermittently. And now the side mirrors are not retracting upon shutdown... that isn't good.

Most beautiful interior carI like this car mostly, because it has beautiful in and outside. It runs very smooth and the engine has less noise than my others luxury car

this is a dream to driveI love the look, the comfort, the drive and performance of this Volvo wagon. It is luxurious, I love the visibility and safety features. The side warning lights have already in backing out of a parking space. Two thumbs up.
Cannondale Rep on December 16, 2019
Fast, fuel efficient, comfortable, and reliable. This has been an excellent rep car. Other than a $60 oil line that began to weep, service has been oil changes, tires, alignments, and brakes. Not bad for a European car with almost 100,000 miles.

handles great. performance tires a bit hard.dash and electronics are great. driver assist tech saved my life the other day as I returned from Europe and hadn't slept for 24 hours. The car shakes the steering wheel if you're not staying in the lane. Then, tells you to pull over and get some coffee. A smidge too much reliant on the turbo. Not big on the turbo delay thing. It is what it is.

Donβt follow the herdThis car provides a great ride, it has a powerful engine yet gives great mileage. Volvo makes the best most comfortable seats in the planet, the Scandinavian deign is beautiful and uncluttered. The car may be three years old but it still makes people turn their heads when I drive by.

Sporty wagon. Practical and fast.Good looking vehicle. Handles well, loads of AWD power. Everything but a cork screw included. Room to haul your stuff without handling like a top heavy, gas hungry SUV.

Volvo For LifeThis is my third Volvo and the eight in my family since 1968. The V60 is the perfect size in traffic and parking lots. The seats are the best in the biz. The car handles well and is a pleasure to drive in town or on the highway. I have had other cars but have always returned to Volvo when I have strayed. They go for years and miles and are safe most importantly.

Best Car I've OwnedThe only things that would've made this car better would be 1) Manual Transition and 2) Touch Screen for Browing/Climate/etc. I loved driving it - acceleration, handling, etc.
