I have a 2018 Silverado with the V6 four-wheel drive extended cab. I bought it used with 16,000 miles and I drive a lot so I have put maybe 50,000 miles on it in the past year and a half and am now at 68,000 miles and the transmission is going out. I checked the trans fluid temp last week as my fan sounded like it was working extra hard the transmission fluid temp was 250° way too hot. On top of the transmission issues I take it in for regular oil changes and every time there is no read on the dipstick. I have never owned a vehicle that burns so much oil. I am the type of truck owner that would be happy in almost any brand of truck that is being made today, I think Silverados look the best and are very comfortable on the inside and have great styling. I love the V6 for the gas mileage and the four-wheel drive has saved me multiple times but the transmission going out at 68,000 and the constant oil burning has me taking a indefinite Hiatus from Chevy. I probably should not include this in my review but I have been in the market for a replacement truck and even the new Fords with their 10-speed Transmissions are having bad issues it is crazy that we are so limited in choice for such expensive vehicles that won't even last 100,000 miles before a big repair is needed.

AFM sucks. I will not buy anymore GM vehicles. Why would you put 3.08 gears in a truck? Why won’t GM replace my cam and lifters and remove AFM?

This truck has issues with door window on driver side .lf you have issues make sure chevrolet fix it correctly the first time. An tell them to check harness in door on that side

Transmission issues in the majority of these trucks.

Transmission issues in the majority of these trucks. My daughter has issues with her 2017 as well. I have maintained this vehicle like and baby and the same problem as a few other people I know. The 6l80 transmission is problematic.

2018 junk.

Less than 70000 miles and I have replaced the whole dash module, the gas pedal, water pump, and now the starter went out. $50000.00 piece of junk. Never again!

2018 Silverado has no guts

Not meant to work hard. It is really weak. The 4 x 4 doesn’t work well. $54,000 down the drain. But it looks good in my driveway.

Bad transmissions on 2018 Silverado.

The transmission went out on my 2018 Chevy Silverado with only 80,000 miles on it. GM should be liable for a faulty product. Will not recommend a Chevy Silverado to any friends or family who have owned chevys since 1972.

Pure Junk...

What can I say. It's a 2018 silverado 1500 4x4. 5.3L engine that feels like it might have 50 (Fifty) horsepower, auto transmission. It has Zero throttle response, world's worse shocks, wipers freeze in place constantly if you live in a cold area. I had 2000 gmc with a 5.3L , auto trans it had 200,000 miles on it before it was in a wreck and totalled. Everything about the 2000 was 100% better than the 2018. Even got better gas mileage. Personally I think my totalled 2000 gmc is still worth more than this 2018 silverado with 70,000 miles. The best part of this silverado will be the day I get rid of the piece of junk. I'm constantly looking for another 2000 sierra. Do yourself a HUGE favor and avoid buying 1 at all cost. At GM / Chevrolet failure is not an option. It now simply comes standard on everything they make.

On top of the transmission issues I take it in for regular oil changes and every time there is no read on the dipstick. I have never owned a vehicle that burns so much oil. I am the type of truck owner that would be happy in almost any brand of truck that is being made today, I think Silverados look the best and are very comfortable on the inside and have great styling. I love the V6 for the gas mileage and the four-wheel drive has saved me multiple times but the transmission going out at 68,000 and the constant oil burning has me taking a indefinite Hiatus from Chevy. I probably should not include this in my review but I have been in the market for a replacement truck and even the new Fords with their 10-speed Transmissions are having bad issues it is crazy that we are so limited in choice for such expensive vehicles that won't even last 100,000 miles before a big repair is needed.

Don't get one

I had a black 2018 Z71 4x4 Silverado. It kept having issue after issue. AC went out at 50K miles, TRANSMISSION (6spd auto) went fully out at 67K miles for no reason, never pulled anything or went off road. It was also burning oil at 67K miles. It shook when driving 70-80mph. I only kept the truck for 8 months then traded it for a faithful Honda Accord...
