The Good
The 2020 Colorado offers a blend of practicality and appeal. Its performance ranges from fuel-efficient to powerful, especially with the V6 or diesel options. Reliability is generally good, and the interior provides decent comfort. The design is modern and rugged, appealing to those seeking a capable and stylish truck. It's a good value, offering capabilities rivaling larger trucks at a lower price point, fulfilling both emotional desires for adventure and practical needs for work.
The Bad
Some weaknesses of the 2020 Colorado include a less refined interior compared to some rivals, particularly in lower trims. The base engine can feel underpowered for some tasks. The automatic transmission (specifically the 8-speed) has had reported issues with rough shifting. Some owners report electrical glitches and premature paint chipping. Potential buyers should thoroughly inspect the transmission and check for any unusual noises or vibrations during a test drive.

What Problems Does the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Have?
Other common issues include electrical problems such as infotainment system glitches, sensor malfunctions, and issues with the HVAC system. Some owners have reported premature paint chipping, particularly on the hood and leading edges.
Recalls for the 2020 Colorado have included issues related to improperly installed airbags and potential fuel pump failures. Long-term reliability concerns mainly center around the transmission's longevity and the potential for ongoing electrical problems. While not all vehicles experience these issues, the prevalence of complaints warrants careful inspection and consideration when purchasing a used 2020 Colorado. Checking service records for transmission repairs and addressing any outstanding recalls is highly recommended. Some earlier model years (2015-2017) also experienced similar transmission issues, so researching the history of the specific vehicle you are considering is crucial.

How Does the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado Compare to Other Truck?
In terms of performance, the Colorado's V6 and diesel engine options are competitive. The ZR2 trim offers superior off-road capability compared to most rivals, except maybe the Tacoma TRD Pro. Feature-wise, the Colorado is generally comparable.
If reliability is a top priority, the Toyota Tacoma is a better choice. If you value a more refined driving experience and better fuel economy, the Ford Ranger is a strong contender. The Honda Ridgeline offers a more comfortable ride and better on-road handling but sacrifices some truck capability. The Jeep Gladiator, if within budget, provides excellent off-road capability and open-air driving. Ultimately, the best alternative depends on individual needs and priorities.

Final Verdict: Is the 2020 Chevrolet Colorado a Good Truck?
Whether it's worth buying depends on the individual vehicle's history and condition. A used Colorado is generally a good value, but thorough inspection is crucial, especially regarding the transmission. Consider a Z71 or ZR2 for off-road enthusiasts or an LT or High Country for a more comfortable daily driver. A well-maintained diesel model can be a great option for those needing maximum towing capacity and improved fuel economy. Carefully weigh the potential risks of transmission issues against the truck's overall value and capabilities before making a purchase.

Paint is M&M shell thin.Paint is M&M shell thin. Chips if you stare at too long. Transmissions from 2015 to 2022 are hand grenades waiting to go off. Two class action law suits as GM refuses to acknowledge that sold absolute garbage for years. Here is to them losing. Solenoids go out all the time and they were on national back order. Of the bloc. To lock thr rear axle goes out, you cannot buy one. They discontinued it. If you have a ZR2 the shocks cannot be rebuilt. DO NOT BUY THIS TRUCK.

Great Truck!I bought a 2020 WT Crew Cab with power amenities and chrome/color bumpers and upgraded to leather seats for $24,000. It has been a great truck. I regularly get 24-28 mpg with the V6 (simply by watching acceleration). It does everything I want; towing/hauling and just general running about. Love the Apple CarPlay. This is the best value truck that I have owned. Solidly reliable. No complaints.

Not a good value and over priced....This truck came with the LT package that is over priced for what you truly get. I put a new bedliner, running boards and topper on the truck to get it the way I wanted, without having to pay the exorbitant price the dealer wanted for the extras...you should not need to buy top of the line to get the extra safety features either that are standard on most imports...

Vibrates at 60 miles an hourColorado LT 4x4 is not as good as a full size truck. The interior is made cheaply. the v6 engine has enough power. The 4x4 works Ok. But my complaint is it vibrates at higher speeds and the ride isn’t that great. It’s a bumpy riding truck.. I complained to the dealership about the vibration and ask for warranty work and they said it’s not a warranty problem. I complained to GMC and they didn’t respond when I told them the problem.

NEVER BUY ANOTHER ONE.In Calgary we had 2 major snow storms so far this winter season. While driving. Snow accumulates on the ground and some snow stays on the rims. This a normal event for all vehicles when it snows. So on BOTH occasions: Snow stuck on the rims and the vehicle sat overnight outside in -15 celsius. The next day I drove the COLORADO speeds of just over 100km/hr The truck began to vibrate in the back of the truck excessively. I was surprised so I slowed down to 70km/hr and vibration stopped I thought there might be ice under the vehicle so I parked the COLORADO In a heated underground parking. The problem was gone. On the Second occasion same vibration. This time, I checked the rims and there was hard snow on the passenger side back rim. I have never had vibrating problems at 100 km/hr except with the 2020 COLORADO. So there’s either a problem with the back rim or the balancing in the back. It’s a new vehicle. It’s not modified in any way. It’s all original. Including the rims and Tires These are my comments and concerns.

Very fun ladies kind of Truck. Just enough! This truck has just the right amount for me. Enough cabin space for a bigger size person. Has cool technology features. The crew cab is big enough for passengers. The truck bed is just enough for my needs. The exterior is also great. Everything is just enough! I love it. Great on gas mileage for a truck.
