The Good
The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado offered a range of advantages. Practically, it boasted capable performance, especially with the available V6 or diesel engines, decent fuel efficiency for a truck, and good value. Emotionally, the Z71 and ZR2 trims provided rugged appeal and off-road prowess, while the well-designed interior offered surprising comfort for a mid-size truck. Overall, a versatile and appealing package.
The Bad
The 2018 Chevrolet Colorado had some weaknesses. The base engine could feel underpowered, and the interior materials weren't always top-notch. Some owners reported issues with the transmission's shifting behavior. Additionally, the rear seat in the extended cab was cramped. Potential buyers should inspect for these issues and consider higher trims for a more refined experience.

Final Verdict: Is the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado a Good Pickup Truck?
Done with GM. on October 26, 2023
2018 colorado transmission shutterTransmission shutter at 56k. Had Transmission fluid flushed. GM refused to pay stating it's maintenance., yet the owners manual stats flush at 72k. They are aware of the problem but refuse to stand behind it. Cost me $ 694 for the flush. Oh ya, the fluid that was installed from the factory is the reason it had to be flushed. It's replaced with a different fluid that is supposed to fix the shutter. No more General Motors products for me. They are junk.

Very nice truck. One problem is the key will not gVery nice truck. One problem is the key will not go to the off position when in park. This doesn't happen every day but way too often. Extremely inconvenient and apparently doesn't seem to be a solution. This has been happening to other chevrolet trucks since 2015. It should be solved and be put on a recall list.

Transmission sucksJust bought a ZR2 pre- driven. Was most expensive car I have owned at $35000 used. After two days transmission began that shutter shaking. Brought it back and dealer played dumb, left me with no truck for three days. I was the one to tell them about the GM fluid flush. They say they did not ever hear of that but acted like they were doing me a big favor to flush the trans fluid. Just drove it home and it's even worse! This is horrible!

not happy with chevythe computer screen has ben flipping from 50000 miles on .waiting on a recall. it seems like a easy fix but a 600 dollar part. The thermastat failed at 70000 mi. costing around 700.00 dollars. i cant recommend this truck it seems like chevy has a contract with car sheilds for memberships.always liked chevys not anymore.

Great truckBought this truck used. It’s a crew cab z71 midnight edition. The styling and ride are great and fuel mileage is ok, thought it might be a little better for a v6. Interior is very nice and has lots of features. The radio is somewhat confusing to use at first and wish you could store stations for different bands instead of having them all in a row

A great mid-size truck.Drives great and a very comfortable smooth ride, plus a quiet cabin, with plenty of power from the V6 engine. Easy to drive and park.
