The Good
The 2012 Nissan Frontier offers strong performance, particularly with the V6 engine, and a reputation for reliability. Its simple, functional design appeals to practical buyers, while the PRO-4X trim caters to those seeking off-road adventures. Decent comfort and good value for the price further enhance its appeal.
The Bad
The 2012 Nissan Frontier's weaknesses include a dated interior, particularly in lower trims. Fuel economy is not class-leading. Some owners have reported issues with timing chain noise, especially in earlier model years of this generation. The rear seats in the King Cab can be cramped.

How Does the 2012 Nissan Frontier Compare to Other Pickup Truck?
In terms of features, the Frontier lags behind some competitors, especially in terms of technology and interior design. However, it often excels in value for money.
Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Tacoma if resale value and a more modern interior are priorities, or the Honda Ridgeline if car-like handling and ride comfort are desired (though the Ridgeline has a different, more crossover-based design). The Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon could be considered for similar overall performance and features.

Good truckI have a crew cab long box, 0nly 60000km on it right now, now issues- turning radius isn't great, im used to having to go back and forth 4-5 times to park, mirrors don't show enough, mileage is terrible, it has all the bells and whistles i need- truck has been very good. will hang onto it till it gives me serious issues--4 stars-

Utilitarian, but a great vehicleVery happy with the truck. Does not have a lot of towing capacity, but for my purposes, I could not be happier with the truck. It does everything that I need it to do and is very reliable. Handles off road better than could be expected for the size and holds up well.

Best Used Small Pickup for the money.Nissan Frontier does what is needed for my family and new projects we are working on. Great on long trips, holds all we need when camping or working. Quieter than I expected on the highway. One caveat, the fuel mileage is not as good as I hoped.

Great deal, great car, but...For the most part, this truck met or exceeded all of my expectations. However, once it hit 100K miles, I had two air bag sensors fail in consecutive months. Because of the location of those sensors, it cost me over $600 each time to replace them. In this vehicle, if one of the sensors fails, the entire system ceases to function. With 20 or so more sensors located throughout the airbag system, I decided to say goodbye to my Frontier before it broke the bank. The other annoying feature of this truck was the turning radius. Pulling into a parking space always required several extra back and forths in order to line up properly. I spent a lot of time steering that thing! Otherwise, it was a good truck. Sturdy, dependable, lots of neat options.
