The Good
The 2007 Frontier offers robust performance with its available V6 engine. It's known for decent reliability and a comfortable ride for a truck of its type. Its design is rugged and appealing, while the value proposition is strong, offering capability at a reasonable price. Emotionally, it's a dependable and capable truck. Practically, it gets the job done.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2007 Nissan Frontier include potential for rust, particularly in areas with road salt. Some owners have reported issues with the automatic transmission and timing chain tensioners on the V6 engine. What Problems Does the 2007 Nissan Frontier Have?
Recalls for the 2007 Frontier have included issues related to the fuel sending unit, which could cause inaccurate fuel level readings. Other recalls have addressed potential problems with the anti-lock braking system (ABS). It's essential to check the vehicle's VIN on the NHTSA website to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns generally revolve around the aforementioned transmission and timing chain issues. Proper maintenance, including regular fluid changes and inspections, can help mitigate these risks. Some owners have also reported problems with the electronic stability control system. Before purchasing a used 2007 Frontier, it's advisable to have it inspected by a qualified mechanic to identify any potential problems.
How long will the 2007 Nissan Frontier last?
Long-term durability can be affected by rust, especially on the frame. Weaknesses over time include potential for the timing chain tensioners to fail, leading to engine damage if not addressed. Regular inspection of these components is crucial. The automatic transmission can also become a point of concern as mileage increases.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were minimal. Anti-lock brakes (ABS) were standard, and electronic stability control (ESC) was available on some trims. There were no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane departure warning or automatic emergency braking available.
Safety features included front airbags and side-impact airbags (optional on some models). Crash-test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) varied depending on the cab configuration. The Crew Cab generally performed better in crash tests than the King Cab. It's important to consult the IIHS and NHTSA websites for specific crash test data for the 2007 Nissan Frontier.
Optional features included a sunroof, bed extender, and various utility packages designed to enhance the truck's functionality. Overall, the 2007 Frontier prioritized basic functionality and ruggedness over advanced technology.

2007 Nissan Frontier Prices and Market Value
The Frontier has depreciated significantly over the years, but retains some resale value due to its reputation for reliability and ruggedness. Factors affecting resale value include overall condition, maintenance history, mileage, and whether it's a desirable trim like the Nismo. Trucks with lower mileage and a clean title command higher prices. Rust-free examples are particularly valuable.

How Does the 2007 Nissan Frontier Compare to Other Pickup Truck?
Features-wise, the Tacoma generally offered more advanced options, while the Frontier provided a more basic, utilitarian experience. The Colorado/Canyon were similarly equipped to the Frontier.
Reliability is a key battleground. The Tacoma is often considered the most reliable, followed by the Frontier. The Colorado/Canyon had a more mixed reliability record.
In terms of price, the Frontier typically offered a competitive advantage, often being more affordable than the Tacoma.
Alternatives to the 2007 Frontier include the Toyota Tacoma (if reliability is a top priority and budget allows), or a newer model year of the Frontier itself for improved features and potentially better reliability updates. The Honda Ridgeline (though unibody) offered a more comfortable ride but sacrificed some towing capacity.

Final Verdict: Is the 2007 Nissan Frontier a Good Pickup Truck?
However, prospective buyers should carefully inspect the vehicle for potential issues such as rust, timing chain tensioner noise, and transmission problems. Having a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic is highly recommended. Consider newer models for updated features and potentially improved reliability.

DisappointedHad a 2000 frontier that had 300k miles when i gave to my daughter. She still uses it. A really good quality small truck. Due to that experience I bought a 2007 Frontier LE. WOW!! This truck was not of the same quality standard as the 2000 one. Tranny issues, radiator leaks as will as an evaporator core leak. All this within the first 100K miles. Finally sold it and bought a Toyota Tacoma. Will not buy another Frontier or Nissan product again. Good luck to all who buy Nissan.

I'VE OWNED FOR 13 YEARS AND IT'S STILL GREATHAD A FEW MINOR ISSUES OVER 13 YEARS AND I WOULD BUY ANOTHER ONE IF I NEEDED ONE. I THINK IT'S AS RELIABLE AS ANY VEHICLE OUT THERE. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS TRUCK.
spence on April 19, 2020
very nice truckThe truck runs great. You get up to 37mph to 43mph you get a shudder in drive train. You accelerate and it will stop and drive great. It will not do it all the time. I just had tranny flush and clean. The mechanic said looked like antifreeze in fluid. Now I see reviews and these vehicles are known for this. Nissan corporation should fix all these, not cheap and just b.s. tha is on us owners to cover this problem that you had from you letting come off line in that condition. not happy at all.

Was told great pick by mechanic....It is roomy for a crew cab truck and handles well with a v6 engine and short bed. The HP is less then I am use to in trucks.

Would not buy another Nissan Frontier.I would not buy another Nissan product based on my 2007 Nissan Frontier. Have numerous problems, and all are expensive to fix, examples, cargo light does not shut off, air doors on air conditioning system stripped, and many other problems.
