The Good
The 2015 Frontier offers a robust V6 engine option providing ample power. It boasts proven reliability and a simple, easy-to-maintain design, appealing to practical buyers. For emotional buyers, the Pro-4X trim delivers off-road capability and a rugged image. While not the most luxurious, it offers decent comfort and represents good overall value.
The Bad
The 2015 Frontier's weaknesses include an outdated interior design and relatively poor fuel economy compared to newer trucks. Some owners have reported issues with the automatic transmission. The base four-cylinder engine can feel underpowered, especially when hauling cargo. Rust can be a concern in areas with road salt, so inspect carefully.

What Problems Does the 2015 Nissan Frontier Have?
How long will the 2015 Nissan Frontier last?
Positive Owner Reviews
Negative Owner Reviews
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are limited; there's no lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, or automatic emergency braking.
Safety features include standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. Optional safety features include Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC).
Crash test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) vary. While some tests showed acceptable performance, others revealed weaknesses, particularly in the small overlap frontal crash test. It's recommended to research specific crash test results for the 2015 Frontier to assess its safety performance thoroughly. The lack of modern driver-assistance features is a notable drawback compared to newer trucks in its class. The technology is dated but functional for its time.

How Does the 2015 Nissan Frontier Compare to Other Pickup Truck?
Alternatives to consider include:
- Toyota Tacoma: Known for its exceptional reliability and resale value.
- Chevrolet Colorado/GMC Canyon: Offer more modern features, better fuel economy, and a more refined interior.
If reliability and affordability are the top priorities, the Frontier remains a viable option. However, if you prioritize modern features, fuel economy, or a more refined driving experience, the Tacoma or Colorado/Canyon may be better choices. It depends on your individual needs and budget.

Final Verdict: Is the 2015 Nissan Frontier a Good Pickup Truck?

A great, reliable truck. Plain and simple.195k miles and my truck still fires up and runs excellently. Everything from the value, the power, the utility, the reliability, and, in my opinion, the looks, are superb. I will say the turning radius is quite awful, but in light of all the positive things I could say about this truck, it's an easy recommendation, and by far the best vehicle I've had the please of owning. It is a barebones truck, but Nissan did an excellent job fine tuning it and making it one of those 10+ year trucks you wish every other truck could be.

Good except for crank cam sensorsGood value all things considered, replaced sensors at 50000. Transmission shifted hard and eventually truck would die while driving. Code indicated bad crank cam sensors. Allegedly a common problem. Replaced and truck has been fine. Surprised no recalls or TSB on these engines.

Does exactly what you need it to doThis truck will do what you need it to do. I bought it summer of 2019 for a business. That business is no longer in existence. I have no more use for this truck. It was a reliable truck. This truck will do what you need it to do.

I traded my 2002 Nissan Frontier for this 2015 ModMy 2002 Frontier got over 250,000 miles. Hoping for the same with this one. Really love the comfort and power of this truck and all the additional features.

First pickup truckBought used from old couple that barely used it. Very pleased so far. The V6 engine only gives 18 mpg. Pretty comfortable ride. Wide turning radius that I have to get used too. Unfortunately the tpms light went on and the tires are fine. Bad tire sensors apparently are common.

1st pickup truck I've owned and very happy so farI never owned a truck before but am planning to pull a travel trailer soon so I got a great deal on a barely used 2015 Frontier with 18 K miles. I am surprised how quiet and smooth the truck rides... for some reason I had expected something rougher. I need to get used to the lower mileage that I am used to getting in a car. I had 19 mpg in my V6 four liter engine during the last fill up and I drive conservatively.

Frontier WorksI've never owned a Nissan, so I was wary f buying this Frontier at first, but it has proved to be a very reliable truck.
