What Problems Does the 2012 Hyundai Tucson Have?
Recalls for the 2012 Hyundai Tucson have included concerns related to the stop lamp switch, which could affect the brake lights and cruise control functionality. It's essential to check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA to verify if all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns primarily involve the engine's longevity, given the oil consumption reports. Regular and meticulous maintenance, especially oil changes, is crucial to mitigate potential engine damage. Some owners have also noted issues with the air conditioning system and minor electrical problems over time. Prospective buyers should thoroughly inspect the vehicle and obtain a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified mechanic.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are relatively limited compared to newer vehicles. ABS and stability control were standard. The Limited trim offered a rearview camera as an optional feature. There were no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like lane departure warning or blind-spot monitoring available.
Safety features include front, side, and side curtain airbags. The 2012 Hyundai Tucson received good crash-test ratings from the IIHS, earning a "Top Safety Pick" award. The NHTSA also awarded it four out of five stars for overall safety.
Entertainment features were basic but adequate for the time. The Limited trim's upgraded sound system provided a better audio experience. Overall, the tech and safety features were competitive for its model year, but significantly less advanced than current vehicles.

How Does the 2012 Hyundai Tucson Compare to Other Wagon?
Price is where the Tucson often shines, offering a good value proposition compared to the CR-V and RAV4. However, the Ford Escape provides comparable pricing and slightly better performance.
Alternatives to consider include the Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 for superior reliability, albeit at a higher price point. The Mazda CX-5 is a good choice for those prioritizing driving dynamics. If budget is a primary concern, a well-maintained Ford Escape from the same year might offer similar value. Ultimately, carefully consider your priorities and compare the Tucson to its rivals based on your individual needs.

Exactly What I Wanted!Love it! Love the color, love how it looks (our salesman said we look good in it π It looks like a lot of car but it handles so easy, easy to make turns. It really feels like it "fits like a glove" I love that about it. I love that I wanted an SUV in my price range, and Mitch delivered. Did I mention that I love my car?

No significant issues in nearly 100,000 milesExcellent value for the $$$$$. Id buy another Hyundai vehicle. Very dependable and low cost to operate. Smaller models tend to have a bit rigid ride.

Horrible my car thru a baring and I have to replacWhen I purchased this car it was running great and had no issues I drove it from Kentucky to CA. No problems then all of a suddem with no warning my car slipped a baring and stopped on the freeway leaving me stranded now for 2 months because its going to cost me 4500 to get the engine replaced its an absolute nightmare! Do not buy this car if u want it to last because at 111000 miles mine is trash.

Newest car I've had to buyThe cars interior is good for my dog, it's good on gas and has great speed and pick up. Having low mileage means it last me quite awhile and the exterior is in almost perfect condition.

Just an absolute nightmareI'm here to give my honest experience on this car. I have the 2012 Hyundai Tucson manual 5 speed. My first comment is how ridiculously short the gears are, they are so short that going highway speeds (80 MPH) requires 4000RPMs in 5th gear. It's very disappointing and what's even more disappointing is the MPG. Expect 20-21 MPG and yes this car is a Manual in-line 4. On top of being very ugly the interior is very boring, no fancy amenities, no power seats, One of the most bland and basic interiors, quite reminds me of a car from 2005 or 2006. Also another important thing, this car is very rough and hard to drive. The clutch is very hard to operate and first gear is so short that if you don't let off the clutch extremely perfect the car jerks super hard and sways like a boat at sea. It also has a low center of gravity. Quite frankly I'd be scared out of my soul to go more than 80MPH in this thing. It also lacks power despite having short gears and bad MPG, and better yet I only have 84,500 miles and it's been throwing problems at me left and right. I didn't ask or pay for luxury/foreign car reliability. So to summarize it all. It has bad MPG, not a smooth ride, ugly exterior and interior, and bad reliability.

Bob the owner was very attentive to my needs. James was so helpful with the process explaining each detail of the car to the paperwork Chad and Sean was so helpful as well. I would recommend them to all of my family members. I would buy my next car from them again and again. I especially love to no haggle pricing.
