Rating: 4.76
Based on 87 Owner Reviews
Cathleen V | March 31, 2025
The Chrysler Pacifica, a minivan, replaced the Town & Country. The 2019 model is part of the Pacifica's first generation. Key trims include L, LX, Touring Plus, Touring L, Touring L Plus, and Limited. Pricing ranged approximately from $28,000 to $45,000 new. It stands out with its Stow 'n Go seating, available hybrid powertrain, and family-friendly features, making it popular for its versatility and comfort.
The Good

The 2019 Pacifica offers a comfortable ride and versatile interior, appealing to practical buyers needing space. Its V6 engine provides adequate performance. The design is relatively stylish for a minivan. While not known for exceptional reliability, its family-friendly features and available hybrid provide emotional appeal and good overall value.

The Bad

The 2019 Pacifica has had some reported issues with electrical systems and transmission performance. Owners should watch for potential problems with the infotainment system and power sliding doors. Reliability ratings are not the highest in its class, so a thorough inspection and maintenance history are important.

What Problems Does the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Have?

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica has faced some frequently reported problems. Electrical issues, particularly related to the infotainment system and power sliding doors, are common complaints. Transmission problems, including rough shifting or failure, have also been reported by some owners.

Recalls for the 2019 model have addressed issues ranging from potential engine stalling due to crankshaft sensor problems to concerns about improperly installed seatbelt buckles. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN for any outstanding recalls before purchasing.

Long-term reliability is a concern. While some owners have experienced trouble-free ownership, others have encountered recurring problems. The hybrid version, in particular, has had reports of issues with the hybrid system and battery. Pre-purchase inspections are essential, and reviewing owner forums can provide valuable insights into potential problems specific to the 2019 model year. Addressing these issues promptly and adhering to a strict maintenance schedule can help mitigate some of these concerns.

How long will the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica last?

With regular maintenance, a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica can reasonably be expected to last for 150,000 to 200,000 miles, or 10-13 years of service. However, long-term durability depends heavily on maintenance habits. Neglecting scheduled maintenance can significantly shorten its lifespan. Weaknesses tend to emerge in the electrical system and transmission as the vehicle ages. Rust can also be a concern in regions with harsh winters. The hybrid model's battery life will also be a factor in long-term ownership costs.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica offers a solid suite of built-in tech features. Standard features include Uconnect infotainment with a 7-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Higher trims offer an 8.4-inch touchscreen, navigation, and a premium Harman Kardon audio system. The available rear-seat entertainment system with dual 10-inch touchscreens is a highlight for families.

Driver-assistance features include standard blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure warning, and a 360-degree camera system. These features enhance safety and driver confidence.

Safety features encompass standard airbags, electronic stability control, and anti-lock brakes. The 2019 Pacifica received good crash-test ratings from the IIHS, earning a "Top Safety Pick" award. The NHTSA also gave it a 5-star overall safety rating. The combination of advanced technology and strong safety ratings makes the Pacifica a compelling choice for families.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Prices and Market Value

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica had a new MSRP ranging from approximately $28,000 to $45,000, depending on the trim and options. Current used market prices generally range from $18,000 to $30,000, depending on mileage, condition, and trim.

Depreciation is moderate, influenced by factors like mileage, accident history, and overall condition. Higher trims and well-maintained models hold their value better. The availability of the hybrid powertrain can also affect resale value, particularly in areas with incentives for fuel-efficient vehicles.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Cost of Ownership

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica's long-term ownership costs are moderate. Insurance costs are typical for a minivan. Fuel costs are average for the V6, but the hybrid offers significant savings. Maintenance costs can be higher than some rivals, especially considering potential electrical or transmission issues. Repairs can also be costly. Overall, it's not the most economical minivan to own, but the hybrid can help offset some expenses.

2019 Chrysler Pacifica Insurance

Insurance for a 2019 Chrysler Pacifica is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sport Utility Vehicle with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica competes with the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, and Kia Sedona. In terms of performance, the Pacifica's V6 is comparable to the Odyssey and Sienna. Feature-wise, the Pacifica offers unique features like Stow 'n Go seating, but the Odyssey boasts a more user-friendly infotainment system. Reliability is where the Pacifica falls short compared to the Odyssey and Sienna, which are known for their dependability. The Sedona offers a compelling value proposition with a lower price point.

The Honda Odyssey provides a more refined driving experience and better reliability, making it a strong alternative. The Toyota Sienna, known for its longevity, is another excellent choice, especially if all-wheel drive is desired (though not available on the 2019 Pacifica). The Kia Sedona is a budget-friendly option, though it lacks some of the Pacifica's advanced features. If reliability is a top priority, the Odyssey or Sienna are better choices. If innovative features and the hybrid option are appealing, the Pacifica is worth considering.

Ranks #1845 SUV

Final Verdict: Is the 2019 Chrysler Pacifica a Good Sport Utility Vehicle?

The 2019 Chrysler Pacifica is ideal for families who prioritize space, versatility, and features like Stow 'n Go seating and rear-seat entertainment. Whether it's worth buying depends on the individual's priorities. If reliability is paramount, alternatives like the Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna might be better. However, if the Pacifica's unique features and available hybrid are appealing, it can be a good choice, especially when purchased used. A thorough pre-purchase inspection is crucial, and targeting higher trims with complete maintenance records is advisable. The hybrid version can be particularly attractive for those seeking fuel efficiency.

Exceeds expectations

Purchase car used in 2021 from rental car company, 70Kmiles. So far have had no problems. Stow and go seats makes this a great utility vehicle plus seats are comfortable for road trips and concert going. We’re empty nesters so it’s the party bus. The transmission can buck during “hill assist” but keeping the gas steady and allow it to do its job, it doesn’t need your help. 90K miles on it now. Swore I was done with minivans, our adult kids laughed so hard when we got it but they borrow it all the time.

Wet electrical harnesses

I have never owned a Chrysler but loved the Pacifica's seat that go below and you have flat back for traveling and taking the dogs. at 66,000 miles I had to replace an electrical harness. They asked me if my car had been submerged. I only go to car washes and when it rains is the only water my car has seen. Now I am going to have to replace another electrical harnesss because of the same problem. These are supposed to be sealed so water can not get into them. Very expensive repairs.

Transmission Problems at 70k miles

After 70,000 miles, the transmission went out. We started noticing hard shifting and went to have the issue inspected at a certified dealer. Long story short, we are on the hook for a brand new transmission as the warranty is only good up to 60,000 miles, conveniently for Chrysler. DO NOT BUY THIS VAN.

Pacifica comfy

I like how it handles. Only problem is sometime the transmission slip. They say nothing is wrong it is common in the Pacifica. It is comfy and loads of room. We keep back seats down put a dog bed for our dog to be comfortable . When we need seats remove the bed and pop them up. No need to pull them out and find a place to store it.

Roomy

So glad I made this purchase. Very pleased with my Pacifica. Drives nice and I have lots of room and for a big van its easy to navigate. The remote start will spoil me along with the heated seats and wheel. I will not be trading this in anytime soon.

Love the safety features and the room

OK well I have always owned a Chevy maybe five of them in my past. When the Pacifica came out I like the features of safety and the size room for everybody. Since I have had this vehicle I have had a couple of problems one problem that shouldn’t have happened until at least 50,000 miles. I have 19,000 miles on my car and I’ve had battery problems I am a little disappointed and now happy that I bought the extended warranty because I am afraid a bit of the future a little disappointed in the car. Hoping that from now on I shouldn’t have too many problems keeping my fingers crossed.

Most expensive car with the most gadgets gadgets

This car has great safety features, however I was disappointed that some of the other features present in other models of this same car were missing. That is video monitors, electronic right front passenger seat adjusters, lane control, cruise control monitor to prevent collision. I am however happy with the other safety features it does have. Love the luggage rack concept of the adjustable cross bars. Love the fold down seats and automatic side doors. The ride is nice and the fuel economy is commendable for this size vehicle.
