The 2010 Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan that exudes bold styling and a luxurious feel. Introduced in 2005, it quickly gained popularity for its distinctive design, reminiscent of classic luxury cars. Key trims for the 2010 model year included the base 300, 300 Touring, 300 Limited, and the top-of-the-line 300C. Original pricing ranged from approximately $27,000 to $40,000. Its standout feature was its imposing presence and available Hemi V8 engine, offering a powerful and comfortable driving experience.

For the emotional buyer, it boasts a stylish and head-turning presence. Practically, it provides ample space, good value for its price point, and decent reliability when properly maintained.

The Bad

Known weaknesses of the 2010 Chrysler 300 include potential electrical issues, particularly with the infotainment system and power accessories. What Problems Does the 2010 Chrysler 300 Have?

Frequently reported problems for the 2010 Chrysler 300 include electrical issues, such as malfunctioning power windows, door locks, and infotainment systems. Some owners have also reported issues with the Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM), which can cause a variety of electrical problems. Suspension components, like ball joints and control arms, are prone to wear and may require replacement, particularly on vehicles driven in areas with poor road conditions.

While specific recalls for the 2010 model year vary, it's essential to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any open recalls related to safety concerns. Common long-term reliability concerns revolve around rust, especially in regions with road salt use, and the longevity of electronic components.

Earlier model years (2005-2007) had more widely reported issues with the early iterations of the infotainment system and transmission quirks. While improvements were made by 2010, it's still advisable to have a thorough pre-purchase inspection performed by a qualified mechanic to identify any potential problems.

How long will the 2010 Chrysler 300 last?

With proper maintenance, a 2010 Chrysler 300 can reasonably reach 200,000 miles or more. Expect 12-15 years of service with diligent care. Long-term durability hinges on addressing known weaknesses such as suspension wear and electrical gremlins. Rust prevention is also critical, especially in colder climates. Regular oil changes (every 5,000-7,500 miles) and timely replacement of wear items like brakes and tires are essential for maximizing its lifespan. Neglecting maintenance significantly shortens its lifespan.

Negative Owner Reviews

It's a nice car looks good got it for my husband but stuff started to mess up after a week the door handle is braking check engine light on after a week

I haven't made the final decision of purchase yet, which is why i only gave 3 start to comfort, performance and categories alike. But I've been already impressed, and deeply satisfied, by the professionalism of my sales consultant, Carlos Trevino. His attentiveness to customer's budget, timely response to questions, with deep understanding of the inventory, have made me reluctant not to refer this dealer to my friends who are looking for quality pre-owned vehicles.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2010 Chrysler 300 offered a reasonable suite of technology and safety features for its time. Standard features included an AM/FM/CD audio system, air conditioning, and power windows and locks. Higher trims added features like a premium audio system with a touchscreen display, satellite radio, and Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free calling.

Driver-assistance features were limited compared to modern standards, but available options included electronic stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes (ABS), and tire pressure monitoring. Optional features like parking sensors and a rearview camera were also available on higher trims.

Safety features consisted of standard front and side airbags, as well as side curtain airbags for both rows of seats. Crash-test ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) should be consulted for specific scores. Generally, the 2010 Chrysler 300 performed reasonably well in crash tests for its class, but ratings can vary based on the specific test and model configuration. Some models included advanced braking systems and enhanced accident avoidance features. These would come at an additional cost for some lower trim options. Overall, the 2010 Chrysler 300 offered a decent, yet not groundbreaking, set of safety and technology features.

2010 Chrysler 300 Prices and Market Value

When new, the 2010 Chrysler 300 ranged from approximately $27,000 for the base model to around $40,000 for the top-of-the-line 300C. Current used market prices vary widely depending on condition, mileage, and trim level, but expect to find them in the range of $5,000 to $12,000. The 300 depreciated considerably over the years. Factors affecting resale value include the vehicle's overall condition, maintenance history, mileage, and whether it has the desirable Hemi V8 engine. Higher trims generally retain slightly more value than base models.

2010 Chrysler 300 Cost of Ownership

The 2010 Chrysler 300 is not the most economical vehicle to own. Insurance costs are moderate, but fuel consumption, especially with the V8 engine, can be high. Maintenance and repair costs can also be above average, particularly if electrical or suspension issues arise. Long-term ownership costs are generally higher than those of more fuel-efficient and reliable competitors. Budget accordingly for potential repairs and higher fuel bills.

2010 Chrysler 300 Insurance

Insurance for a 2010 Chrysler 300 is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sedan 300c with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2010 Chrysler 300 Compare to Other Sedan 300c?

The 2010 Chrysler 300 competed with full-size sedans like the Ford Taurus, Toyota Avalon, and Buick LaCrosse. In terms of performance, the 300 with the Hemi V8 offered a significant advantage over its competitors' base engines. However, the Avalon generally had better fuel economy and a reputation for superior reliability. The LaCrosse offered a more refined interior and a smoother ride.

In terms of features, the 300 provided a comparable range of amenities, but its infotainment system was not as user-friendly as some rivals. Price-wise, the 300 was often positioned competitively. Reliability was a weaker point for the Chrysler compared to Toyota and Buick.

Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Avalon for its reliability and comfort, the Buick LaCrosse for its refined interior and ride quality, and the Ford Taurus for its available all-wheel drive and more modern features. If reliability is a top priority, the Avalon is a better choice. If you value power and aggressive styling, the 300 with the Hemi engine is a compelling option, but be prepared for potentially higher maintenance costs.

Final Verdict: Is the 2010 Chrysler 300 a Good Sedan 300c?

The 2010 Chrysler 300 is ideal for buyers who appreciate bold styling, a spacious interior, and the option of powerful V8 performance. It's worth buying as a used car if you find one in good condition with a well-documented maintenance history. The 300C with the Hemi engine is desirable for performance enthusiasts, but be mindful of potential maintenance costs. A thorough pre-purchase inspection is essential to identify any potential issues. If reliability is your utmost concern, other alternatives might be more suitable.

Looks amazing, drives great

I bought a 2010 300 Touring Signature with 65,500 miles on it, and despite being a 12 year old car, it looks and drives like new. I have the 3.5L V6 (the upgraded V6, not the base engine). Some reviews have said that the 300 is underpowered if it doesn’t have one of the V8 engines, but unless you’re trying to hit 60 in four seconds and annoy the neighbors, it’s got plenty of power. This is a car that loves a highway—it’s quiet, comfortable, and has plenty of power for accelerating and passing. Handling is good, although the steering and suspension are tuned for highway driving more than performance. That’s not a criticism; it’s the 300 Touring’s intended use. I think a lot of the negative reviews of the 300 are from people expecting to do things it wasn’t made to do. The 300 Touring isn’t a track car or one to drive hard through the twisties. It’s a full-size touring sedan, and it’s absolutely brilliant. I wasn’t looking for a 300, although I’ve always loved the way it looks (along with its late cousin, the Dodge Magnum), and the price was right. I’m very happy with my purchase and I love everything about this car. We’ve bought a lot of Chrysler products over the years, and currently own 3 (a Journey, a 200 Touring I bought for myself and gave to my daughter, and the 300), and we’ve never had more repair issues than you’d expect for their relatives ages and conditions. Every Dodge or Chrysler we’ve owned has been very reliable. When I test drove the 300, another customer was waiting at the dealership to take the car if I didn’t want it, and two more wanted to look at it. There’s a reason—if you can find a low-mileage used 300, it’s going to treat you right. I’d suggest getting the upgraded V6 (3.5L) if it’s a model made before 2011. Don’t be scared off by the V6 unless you’re specifically looking for a muscle car. We’ve had four Chrysler products with the Pentastar V6 (an exceptional V6 Chrysler put in pretty much everything), and this one comes pretty close to it. It’s not your car if you want to go 140 on the track, but if you’re going 80 on the highway and want plenty of power left to pass, it’s fantastic.

Very reliable getting me everywhere I needed to go

Very satisifed with the engine as it currently has 175k miles yet it never broke down on me anywhere. However there are many broken parts on the interior such as vents, armrest console, windows power and such, The four exterior door handles also broke, However I still call her my Black Beauty,

Great car with Style

The Chrysler 300 a Luxury vehicle with plenty of leg room. Heated front seats. Download a photo to front of radio panel. Download favorite CDs to the car internally. Sun roof. Slight tint to windows. A ride in Style. Back seat left door handle needs replaced. Small dent front left driver side. All can be fixed cosmetic repairs. Pretty car 6v engine.
