The Chrysler 300, a full-size sedan with roots tracing back to the '50s, offers a blend of American muscle and luxury. The 2019 model year is part of its second generation. Key trims include Touring, S, Limited, and C. Pricing typically ranges from the low $30,000s to around $50,000, depending on the trim and options. Its bold styling and available V8 engine set it apart, appealing to those wanting a comfortable yet powerful ride.
The Good

The 2019 Chrysler 300 offers strong performance, particularly with the available V8. It provides a comfortable and spacious interior. The bold design makes a statement. While not the most efficient, it presents good value for its size and features. Emotionally, it offers a taste of classic American muscle; practically, it's a comfortable and capable family sedan.

The Bad

The 2019 Chrysler 300's fuel economy isn't class-leading, especially with the V8. The interior design, while comfortable, is starting to show its age compared to newer competitors. Some owners have reported electrical issues and problems with the infotainment system. Its handling isn't as sporty as some rivals.

What Problems Does the 2019 Chrysler 300 Have?

The 2019 Chrysler 300 has seen reports of a few common issues. Electrical problems, particularly with the Uconnect infotainment system, are frequently mentioned, including screen freezes, slow response times, and connectivity issues. Some owners have also reported issues with the car's sensors and warning lights. Engine issues, while less common, can occur, especially in higher-mileage models.
Recalls have been issued for various reasons, including issues with the powertrain, airbags, and electrical systems. It's essential to check the NHTSA website for the latest recall information specific to the VIN.
Long-term reliability is generally considered average. The V6 engine tends to be more reliable than the V8, which can be prone to oil leaks and other age-related problems. Proper maintenance is key to extending the life of any 2019 Chrysler 300. Early model years of this generation (2011-2014) had more widespread reports of issues than later models. The 2019 model benefits from some improvements, but it's still crucial to obtain a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially checking the electrical system, transmission, and engine for any signs of trouble.

How long will the 2019 Chrysler 300 last?

With good maintenance, a 2019 Chrysler 300 can realistically reach 150,000 to 200,000 miles or provide 10-12 years of service. Regular oil changes, timely transmission fluid replacements, and addressing minor issues promptly are crucial.
Long-term durability hinges on proper care. Weaknesses often manifest as electrical glitches, especially in the infotainment system. Suspension components and bushings may require replacement over time. The V8 engine, while powerful, can experience oil leaks and other age-related problems if not properly maintained.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2019 Chrysler 300 boasts a user-friendly Uconnect infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration as standard. Available entertainment features include a premium BeatsAudio sound system, offering enhanced audio quality.
Driver-assistance features varied by trim. Higher trims like the Limited and C offered features like adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, and blind-spot monitoring. A rearview camera is standard across all trims.
Safety features include standard stability control, traction control, and a suite of airbags.
Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) should be consulted for specific safety performance. The 2019 Chrysler 300 generally performed well in crash tests, but ratings can vary, so checking the latest reports is essential.
Optional features included navigation, sunroof, and advanced safety packages, offering more comprehensive driver assistance and safety technologies.

2019 Chrysler 300 Prices and Market Value

The 2019 Chrysler 300 had a starting MSRP in the low $30,000s, with higher trims like the C reaching around $50,000 fully equipped. Current used market prices vary depending on condition, mileage, and trim, generally ranging from the mid-$10,000s to the low $30,000s.
The 300 depreciates at a moderate rate. Factors affecting resale value include the overall condition, mileage, trim level (V8 models tend to hold value better), and accident history. Demand for large sedans has decreased, contributing to depreciation.

2019 Chrysler 300 Cost of Ownership

The 2019 Chrysler 300 presents average ownership costs. Insurance premiums are moderate, while fuel costs can be high, particularly with the V8 engine. Maintenance is generally affordable, but repairs can be pricier, especially for electrical or engine-related issues. Long-term ownership costs are moderate but skewed towards the higher side if the V8 is chosen and maintenance is neglected. It is not the most economical car in its class to own.

How Does the 2019 Chrysler 300 Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2019 Chrysler 300 competes with large sedans like the Toyota Avalon, Nissan Maxima, and Dodge Charger. In terms of performance, the 300 with the V8 rivals the Charger and offers a more powerful option than the Avalon or Maxima. Features are comparable, though some rivals offer more modern infotainment systems.
Reliability-wise, the Toyota Avalon generally scores higher than the Chrysler 300. The Nissan Maxima is comparable. The Dodge Charger, sharing a platform with the 300, might have similar reliability concerns.
Price-wise, the 300 is generally competitive. If reliability is a top priority, the Toyota Avalon is a better choice. If you prefer a sportier driving experience, the Nissan Maxima might be a good alternative. If you want similar performance and styling with a more aggressive edge, the Dodge Charger is worth considering. However, if you like the 300's blend of luxury and available V8 power, it remains a compelling option. The Buick LaCrosse can be considered a similar alternative with a focus on comfort and quietness, although it has been discontinued.

Final Verdict: Is the 2019 Chrysler 300 a Good Sedan?

The 2019 Chrysler 300 is ideal for buyers seeking a comfortable, spacious sedan with available V8 power and a distinctive American style. It's worth buying used if you prioritize features and value over cutting-edge technology or top-tier reliability.
A lower-mileage example with a thorough pre-purchase inspection is recommended. Consider the V6-powered trims for better fuel economy and potentially lower maintenance costs. The Limited trim offers a good balance of features and value. If you want the V8, be prepared for higher fuel consumption and potentially increased maintenance needs. It’s a solid option for those who appreciate classic American styling and don't mind some compromises in fuel efficiency and long-term reliability.

Gone-not forgotten

300S V8. S added pro charger and woke the true potential. Last call for traditional performance at CDJR/Stellantis/whoever. Love this model sedan. Get one if you’ve been looking. Perfect combo of lux/look/ performance. Should’ve had a hellcat version.

Perfect.

I love my 300, it gives me the power I need when I need . It gives me comfort while I drive. I feel very secure in it. It keeps me humble because without God I would not be driving it. This is how I feel like it or leave it.

Love the ride, rwd layout, 3.6 engine with 8 speed, 8.4" U Connect with upgraded sound system and Bluetooth/Carplay excellent. Comfortable and roomy. I am 6 foot 1 inch and I have room aplenty. White paint with white leather interior look awesome.

Best car ever!

My 2019 Chrysler 300 Ltd. replaced my previous car, Mercedes E420 which i loved and had for over 22 years. The Chrysler has much amazing worthwhile technology. It is comfortable, roomy and attractive. The 6 cylinder engine is like a V-8. When i replace this car, i will hope to purchase a newer version of this same car.

Love my 300 Chrysler ... it’s my 4th one.

It’s a great car. Rides so nice and is great on the highway. More detail could be for the design of the console to hold a cell phone. The slot is way too small. I leased my first 3, but was forced to buy. this 2019 because they weren’t going to make anymore, which turned out not to be true. I do love every aspect of the car .. hope the model continues to be produced ...
