Rating: 4.76
Based on 100 Owner Reviews
Cathleen V | March 31, 2025
The 2018 Chrysler 300 is a full-size sedan with a lineage tracing back to classic American luxury cars. Available in various trims like Touring, Limited, and 300S, it offers a blend of comfort and style. Model years for this generation run from 2011 onward, with the 2018 model offering updates. Pricing typically ranges from $30,000 to $40,000 depending on trim and options. Its distinctive, muscular design and available V8 engine contribute to its popularity.
The Good

The 2018 Chrysler 300 boasts a comfortable ride and spacious interior, appealing to practical buyers. Its powerful V6 or optional V8 engine offers satisfying performance and an emotional connection to classic American muscle. The bold design sets it apart, while reasonable reliability and value for money further enhance its appeal.

Potential weaknesses of the 2018 Chrysler 300 include fuel economy, especially with the V8 engine. The infotainment system, while functional, can feel dated compared to competitors. What Problems Does the 2018 Chrysler 300 Have?

Frequently reported problems for the 2018 Chrysler 300 are relatively minor but worth noting. Some owners have reported issues with the Uconnect infotainment system, including screen freezes and connectivity problems. There have been occasional reports of electrical glitches, such as issues with the power windows or door locks. Some users also reported issues with the car's computer system.

Recalls for the 2018 Chrysler 300 have been issued for issues such as faulty airbags, potential fuel leaks, and problems with the electronic stability control system. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to determine if any recalls apply and ensure they've been addressed.

Long-term reliability concerns are generally average for the class. The V6 engine is generally considered reliable, while the V8, though powerful, may require more maintenance over time. Proper maintenance, including regular oil changes and fluid checks, is essential to maximizing the vehicle's lifespan. Some owners have reported issues with suspension components and the transmission as the car ages. Consulting repair histories and owner forums can provide valuable insights into potential long-term issues.

How long will the 2018 Chrysler 300 last?

The 2018 Chrysler 300, with proper maintenance, can realistically achieve 150,000 to 200,000 miles or 10-15 years of service. Much depends on driving habits and adherence to the recommended maintenance schedule. Long-term durability can be affected by factors like climate and road conditions. Potential weaknesses over time include wear and tear on suspension components, potential transmission issues, and the aging of electronic components, especially the infotainment system. Rust can also be a concern in areas with harsh winters. Regular maintenance is key to extending the vehicle's lifespan.

Love. It. Just wish had a little more of the true luxury appointments like those of the 70s and 80 s. Such as soft supple leather , real carpet etc...

I just purchased a used Chrysler 300 limited. The car is by far the most comfortable, quiet car i have ever owned. I have owned mostly Chrysler products and they have really refined the 300 over the years. It has plenty of power and my 300 is highly optioned so I have all the convenience features i could ever want. I really hope they keep making the 300. So many makes are getting rid of passenger cars and that's a shame.

For the comfort/luxury of an affordable car the Chrysler 300 is worth your time and investment. I had an 05 and now drive a 2018 Limited Edition and the experience is awesome! Very smooth and quiet ride with tons of features and options to satisfy your trips for miles to come!

I must say, I owned and bought a brand new chrysler 300 2005, in 2004. The best car ever, I never had any problems until 2015 and the transmission went out. Well worth the money cause was 10yrs later and $3500. Got my money's worth. 2017, traded that in for a 2018, chrysler 300. Only had for 5 yrs and transmission went out. $9,000 DOLLARS later. The entire transmission had to be replaced. My suggestion DO NOT BUY A CHRYSLER 300. Not unless you willing to take that chance on paying for transmission problems!!

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2018 Chrysler 300 features the Uconnect 4 infotainment system with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration as standard. Entertainment options include available premium sound systems like BeatsAudio.

Safety features include multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and traction control.

Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) should be consulted for detailed safety performance. 2018 Chrysler 300 Prices and Market Value

When new, the 2018 Chrysler 300 ranged from approximately $30,000 to $40,000, depending on the trim and options. Current used market prices typically range from $15,000 to $25,000, depending on mileage, condition, and trim level. Depreciation is moderate, typical for a full-size sedan. Factors affecting resale value include mileage, condition, accident history, and trim level. Models with the V8 engine and desirable options tend to hold their value better. 2018 Chrysler 300 Insurance

Insurance for a 2018 Chrysler 300 is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sedan with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2018 Chrysler 300 Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2018 Chrysler 300 competes with vehicles like the Toyota Avalon, Buick LaCrosse, and Chevrolet Impala. In terms of performance, the 300 with the V8 engine offers a distinct advantage over many competitors. The Avalon offers better reliability and fuel economy, while the LaCrosse prioritizes luxury and a quieter ride. The Impala provides a more modern interior design.

In terms of features, the 300's Uconnect system is user-friendly, but some rivals offer more advanced technology. The 300’s price is generally competitive, offering good value for its size and features. However, the Avalon typically holds its value better.

Alternatives to consider include the Dodge Charger (for similar performance but a sportier focus), the Kia Cadenza (for a more modern and luxurious experience), or the Nissan Maxima (for a balance of performance and features). If reliability is a top priority, the Toyota Avalon is a strong alternative. If you're after a more luxurious ride, the Buick LaCrosse might be a better fit. However, if you desire a spacious, stylish sedan with available V8 power, the 300 remains a compelling choice. The Charger offers a similar driving experience with bolder styling.

Final Verdict: Is the 2018 Chrysler 300 a Good Sedan?

The 2018 Chrysler 300 is ideal for buyers seeking a spacious, comfortable sedan with a distinctive style and available V8 power. It's worth buying, especially on the used market, if you value its unique blend of classic American design and modern features. Consider the specific trim; the 300S offers a sportier experience, while the Limited and 300C prioritize luxury. A used model in good condition with a well-documented maintenance history represents the best value. If fuel economy is a concern, stick with the V6. Ensure any outstanding recalls have been addressed before purchasing. This is a good choice if you prefer a large sedan with character.

Best looking car on the road.

This is by far the nicest car I've ever owned. I have a 2018 300S with 35K Fully loaded. Even without the HEMI, this car moves down the road with serious authority. Plenty of power in a super comfortable ride. Everything works flawlessly. The big sunroof is nice but you lose just enough head room in the back seat to make it a bit tight for large people. It all looks so xxxx good though that I just have to forgive that.
