The Good
The 2005 Nissan 350Z offers strong performance with its V6 engine and rear-wheel drive. Its design is iconic and sporty, appealing to emotional buyers. For practical buyers, it provides relative reliability and good value for its performance capabilities. While not the most fuel-efficient, it provides a compelling blend of fun and affordability.
The Bad
Known weaknesses of the 2005 Nissan 350Z include potential oil consumption issues, particularly in earlier models. Suspension components, like bushings, can wear out over time. The interior materials are not considered luxurious. Be wary of synchro wear in the manual transmission, especially with aggressive driving. Look for rust in regions with salted roads.

What Problems Does the 2005 Nissan 350Z Have?
Recalls for the 2005 350Z have included issues related to fuel filler tubes and airbags. Check the NHTSA website for specific recall information and VIN applicability. Long-term reliability concerns revolve around the longevity of suspension components like bushings and ball joints, especially in regions with harsh road conditions. Rust can also be a factor, particularly in areas where roads are salted during winter. Some owners have reported issues with the differential over time, especially with frequent track use. Regular maintenance and addressing issues promptly are crucial for long-term reliability. Pre-purchase inspections are recommended to identify potential problems before purchase.
How long will the 2005 Nissan 350Z last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features were limited compared to modern cars. Traction control was available on some trims (Enthusiast and above), and Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) was an option for enhanced stability. Standard safety features included dual front airbags, side-impact airbags, and anti-lock brakes (ABS).
Crash test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA varied. While the 350Z generally performed well in frontal crash tests, side-impact protection was a concern in some tests. Ratings should be checked for the specific model year and body style (coupe vs. roadster). Optional features included a limited-slip differential (LSD) for improved traction and Brembo brakes on the Track trim for superior stopping power. Overall, the 2005 350Z prioritized the driving experience over advanced tech and driver aids.

Honestly most reliable car Iβve ownedIβve had it for over 6 years now, so I purchased a 2016 nismo 370z because the 350z has been so good to me, but I still enjoy it more than the 370z

Really gets attentionTight to get in and out of, but feels real comfortable when driving. Rides good considering short wheel base. Step on the gas and see what this car will do.

Disappointing automobileNot a good car to look at when it has high mileage on it. Interior cheap. Engine develops all kinds of issues. Suspension becomes loose.

fun to drive as well as dependableLoved driving this car. Cool ride that many notice. Fast vehicle that tempts my inner desire for speed. Need garage space or I would not be selling. Too many vehicles and a hard choice has to be made.
