What Problems Does the 2023 Toyota Camry Have?

The 2023 Toyota Camry generally enjoys a strong reputation for reliability. However, some owners have reported minor issues. Some complaints include infotainment system glitches (screen freezing, lag), and occasional issues with the automatic transmission shifting smoothness. There may be recalls related to fuel pump failures (affecting various Toyota models across multiple years) and brake assist, although this isn't specific to the 2023 model year alone, so it's crucial to check the NHTSA website for the latest recall information pertaining to the specific VIN. Long-term reliability concerns are generally low, but proper maintenance is key. Some older Camry models experienced issues with excessive oil consumption in certain engines, but this is less prevalent in newer models. Rust can also be a concern in areas with heavy salt usage during winter, so regular car washes and undercoating are recommended. As with any vehicle, staying up-to-date on scheduled maintenance, including oil changes and fluid checks, is crucial for ensuring long-term reliability and preventing potential problems.

How long will the 2023 Toyota Camry last?

With proper maintenance, a 2023 Toyota Camry can easily exceed 200,000 miles or 15 years of service.
Many owners report reaching 300,000 miles. Regular oil changes, timely fluid flushes, and addressing minor issues promptly are crucial. Long-term durability is a Camry strong suit. Potential weaknesses over time might include wear and tear on suspension components, deterioration of rubber seals, and eventual replacement of major components like the alternator or starter. Hybrid models require battery maintenance/replacement, but Toyota's hybrid systems are known for their durability.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2023 Toyota Camry comes standard with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system (9-inch available), Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility.
Standard driver-assistance features include Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, encompassing pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams, and dynamic radar cruise control.
Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is available. Optional features include a premium JBL audio system, navigation, and a head-up display. The Camry typically receives excellent crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). These ratings generally include "Top Safety Pick+" from IIHS and 5-star overall safety rating from NHTSA (check specific model year and configuration). The safety systems are comprehensive for its class.
These features make driving easier and safer in various conditions. The integrated tech and advanced safety features enhance both convenience and peace of mind.

Insurance for a 2023 Toyota Camry is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Passenger Sedan with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2023 Toyota Camry Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?

The 2023 Toyota Camry competes with the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Hyundai Sonata, and Kia K5.
The Camry excels in reliability and resale value compared to most rivals. The Accord offers a more engaging driving experience and slightly more modern interior. The Altima offers available all-wheel drive. The Sonata and K5 offer bold styling and value for money but may not match the Camry's long-term reliability. In terms of performance, the V6 Camry and Accord provide similar levels of power.
In terms of features, all offer comparable technology and safety features.
In price, the Camry sits in the middle of the pack. Similar alternatives include the Honda Accord for driving dynamics and the Hyundai Sonata/Kia K5 for value. If reliability is the top priority, the Camry is hard to beat. If you desire a more dynamic driving experience the Accord is a better alternative. It really comes down to buyer preference and what aspects of the vehicle the buyer values.

Toyota keeps improving the perfect car

This is my second Camry and Toyota just keeps improving the design, performance, mpg, and quality. The Camry is known for it's reliability and I can attest to that. My previous Camry had 185,000 miles on it, did not use any oil and never had any major repairs (just the usual tires, brakes, oil changes, etc.) This latest model is even quieter, more powerful, more comfortable, and the entertainment/navigation are easy to use and respond very quickly.

2023 Camry XSE-Complete Package!

I needed a new car after an accident & found a 2023 Toyota Camry XSE with rare V-6 engine. Complete package for comfort, reliability, & awesome performance. It seemed overpriced at the time but after owning it for 10 months & putting 7000 miles on it I realized it has every option available. It also has a large car feel when you drive it. I could not be happier after buying this beauty. Toyota knows how to build great cars that are actually fun to drive.

Rest of Story

At 1 year old 7900 miles: 8 speed automatic trans is far superior than competing models with CVT, that feels like pushing on wet sponge. Automatic HVAC works well & seldom used. Manual control liked better. Tiny digital buttons for fan, air outlets & more are detested. Old style three large circular knobs is easier. {Temp, Fan & Air outlets.}. Words on steering wheel controls are small & grey. (Needs to be white text.) For LE trim level blind spot with RCTA {rear cross traffic alert) is an option. Many LE trim do not have. Works well, except beeb for person/car behind not loud enough. Comfort is good. Gets rated MPG. Radar cruise control is standard & liked. Does not have & do not want stop & go, or some other name, that turns motor off at traffic lights. Only Toyota specifies oil 0W-16. Others makes use 0W-20. Full synthetic oil must be used & is costly. Blend or conventional oil not allowed. Comes with spare tire & jack. Some cars do not have.Toyoguard $699 option is poor value. Also clear film on door edges & under handles is an often dealer installed option absurdly over priced. These items have no resale value. Floor mats (4) are top quality & not worth $330 as factory option. Instead buy online for $50. To avoid these items, car was factory order that took 18 weeks. Then can get colors wanted. Front grille is ugly, since 2018. Style change is 2015 model year. Overall great quality. Owner does not commute to work. Uses Camry to go out for lunch, run errands & visit towns 20 miles away.
