The Good
The 2023 Honda Ridgeline offers a smooth and comfortable ride, a reliable V6 engine, and a cleverly designed bed with an in-bed trunk. Practically, it's dependable and easy to drive. Emotionally, its unique design and Honda's reputation provide peace of mind and a sense of adventure, despite being less rugged than some competitors.
The Bad
The 2023 Honda Ridgeline's weaknesses include a lower towing capacity compared to body-on-frame rivals. Its off-road capability is also limited. The infotainment system, while functional, can feel dated. Some may find its styling less traditionally "truck-like," impacting its perceived ruggedness. Check for proper alignment, as some owners have reported issues.

How Does the 2023 Honda Ridgeline Compare to Other Vehicle?
Alternatives: If off-road capability is a priority, the Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro or Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 are better choices. For maximum towing capacity, the Ford Ranger or GMC Canyon offer more. However, if you prioritize a comfortable ride, innovative features like the in-bed trunk, and Honda's reliability, the Ridgeline is a compelling choice. The Hyundai Santa Cruz is a similar alternative focusing on comfort and usability, although it is slightly smaller.

Bought this 2023 Ridgeline RTL used with only 4000 milesBought this 2023 Ridgeline RTL used with only 4000 miles in Nov 2024, so it is essentially a new car. I was coming from a similar class, a 2018 Nissan Frontier. The new electronics suite is really nice. Turning radius is slightly less, so still getting used to that especially when backing into spaces. The tilt down/swing open tailgate is very handy, and the extra trunk under the deck is a Godsend for groceries, and the trunk also keeps the spare tire out of the elements until that rare time I have to get at it. All in all I like it a lot (price tag could have been lower), but no real complaints as yet. Only little things are that I am still reaching for a shifter (push button automatic), and reaching to turn off the key (which is now a fob in my pocket). Nice smooth ride which is really nice for some of the longer rides I take.

I have a 2023 Ridgeline.I have a 2023 Ridgeline. The windshield blacks out at night time. Google black out windshield. I'm not the only one complaining if this unsafe windshield living north on dark bush roads. My Honda dealership said bearable. I want safe bot bearable. The light distance sucks compared to my 2013 Ridgeline sering 4 times further with headlights. 400.000 on my 2013. Never once a problem. Had this truck or excuse me not truck a unibody. I tried to trade I'm after 2 weeks. Worst 75000 if ever wasted my money on. Took back for new tonneau cover and still leaks. Big disappointment.

2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E exceeds expectationsThe 2023 Honda Ridgeline RTL-E has performed up to my expectations! The ride is smooth, the engine performance is everything that I expected, the transmission shifts without notice, the interior is extremely nice and the truck bed is great!

RTL is great except the radioLove everything about this truck except the radio and android auto I have the RTL HPD version with the radio that requires smart phone interface for maps etc. It is very complicated interface and dissapointing. RTL E has built in navigation and superior radio. I like everything else.

Melty plastic trimPurchased a 2023 ridgeline in July and I am disappointed with melting plastic trim pieces between the front and back windows. Apparently the sun melts the plastic, they say windows cause it. Honda dealer gave me an article from 2011 that Honda and other car companies Knew about this bad project and are still using it. My brand-new car had deformed plastic trim all wavey. The Dealer at 1st denied replacing it, but I complained so they did this time. Unfortunately, the sun is still out there, and my car will look bad in the future due to faulty product, windows and sun. This issue needs to be disclosed to purchaser or replaced always. This is on the shiny black trim parts.

Melting plastic on 2023 Honda RidgelineI like the way it drives, I had a 2017 Honda Ridgeline, but my 2023 has plastic on it the deforms from the sun. Honda has known about the problem and is still using this material. The Honda dealer gave me an article from 2011. The changed out the deformed window trim however said only this time they would correct the damage. I am applauded that Honda a car company would use faulty material that cannot standup to the mild weather in NC. I did not pay $40,000 for a new car that can be deformed from the sun. This needs to be a recall for consumers getting a bad product. They knew about this problem and are denying people to have it repaired for free. They need to replace this plastic trim between windows and along the back window for better non melting material.

My nice Honda RidgelinePros: This the best pickup for an average pickup truck owner. I have no plans on towing anything and the truck drives very good. The Ridgeline interior is quiet and spacious, is an excellent highway cruiser, has very good sight lines, excellent seat comfort, nice storage spaces in the cab and truck bed, and is well made with a solid structure. The interior materials are made up of quality pieces. Fits my garage. The Honda engineering is so good that I can overlook or accept the minuses. Cons: The Ridgeline is missing some features and the tech needs updating. I am happy with my truck. My Honda dealership made my purchase transaction very simple.

Exactly the truck that I neededPurchased the RTL version in 2023. So far it has continued to meet all the requirements/expectations that I had when I bought it: dependable, well built, good gas mileage, very comfortable, plenty of interior room, a decent size bed for the things that I would normally need to haul, a great daily driver.
