The Good
The 2010 Land Cruiser boasts robust performance from its V8 engine and exceptional off-road capability, appealing to adventurers. Its legendary Toyota reliability offers peace of mind and long-term value for practical buyers. A comfortable, luxurious interior adds to its appeal. Its design is both rugged and refined.
The Bad
The 2010 Land Cruiser's weaknesses include poor fuel economy, making it costly to operate. Its large size can be challenging in urban environments. Potential buyers should watch out for rust, especially in areas with road salt. High mileage examples should be inspected thoroughly for suspension and drivetrain wear.

What Problems Does the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Have?
The secondary air injection pump has also been known to fail on some models which can cause the vehicle to go into limp mode.
There have been some recalls related to airbags and fuel pump issues on Land Cruisers from this era, so it is crucial to check the vehicle's VIN with Toyota to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns mostly revolve around wear and tear on suspension components, drivetrain, and electrical systems, especially on high-mileage examples. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes and inspections, is crucial to prevent major problems. Despite these potential issues, the Land Cruiser is known for its longevity and ability to withstand demanding conditions.
How long will the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser last?
Long-term durability is generally excellent, but potential weaknesses include rust, KDSS malfunctions, and eventual wear on suspension and drivetrain components. Electrical issues can also arise over time. Consistent maintenance mitigates these risks significantly. Expect high mileage examples to require more frequent repairs.
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance: features include a backup camera, parking sensors, Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System (KDSS), Crawl Control, and Multi-terrain Select.
Safety features: encompass antilock brakes, stability control, traction control, front and rear side airbags, and side curtain airbags.
Optional features: were limited since the Land Cruiser came with a single, high-end trim level. Some may have dealer-installed accessories.
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA should be researched specifically for the 2010 model year, as results may vary. However, the Land Cruiser is generally considered a very safe vehicle due to its size, robust construction, and comprehensive safety features. The combination of these technologies aimed to provide both a comfortable and secure driving experience, on and off the road.

2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prices and Market Value
Land Cruisers hold their value remarkably well due to their reputation for reliability and off-road capability. Factors affecting resale value include: mileage, condition (rust is a major concern), maintenance history, and geographic location (demand is higher in areas with more off-road opportunities). Depreciation is slower than many other SUVs in its class.

How Does the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Performance: The Land Cruiser excels in off-road capability, surpassing most rivals except perhaps a similarly equipped Range Rover.
Features: The Land Cruiser offers a comprehensive suite of features but may lack some of the cutting-edge technology found in newer Range Rover or Escalade models.
Reliability: The Land Cruiser's reliability is a major advantage, significantly exceeding that of Range Rover and potentially Cadillac. The Lexus LX 570 is very similar in reliability.
Price: Used Land Cruisers command a premium price due to their reputation and desirability.
Alternatives: If off-road capability is paramount, a Jeep Grand Cherokee with appropriate off-road packages could be considered, although it doesn't offer the same level of luxury. The Lexus LX 570 provides similar reliability and features with a slightly more luxurious interior. For on-road comfort and features, the Cadillac Escalade is a solid option, but reliability is a concern. For a blend of luxury and off-road capability (with potential reliability concerns) the Range Rover is an option.

Final Verdict: Is the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser a Good Sport Utility Vehicle?
Purchasing a used 2010 model is generally recommended, as new Land Cruisers are significantly more expensive. Prioritize examples with a clean maintenance history, minimal rust, and preferably from owners who have used them for on-road driving rather than heavy off-roading. Inspect the KDSS system carefully before purchasing. Consider the Lexus LX 570 as a very similar and potentially more luxurious alternative.

Land Cruisers Never Let Me DownIt lives up to its name the newest Land Cruiser 200 Series keeps with the tradition of capability and reliability. I've had 4 or 5 Land Cruisers I loved every one of them and they hold their value in a cummunity of enthusiasts. Many Land Cruiser owners are repeat customers and even own more than one. Drive a Legend, Drive a Land Cruiser.

The BEST car I have ownedThis was our SECOND Land Cruiser. The first one was totaled in a car accident and it literally saved our children's life. It is an amazing reliable car, inexpensive to maintain. All in all, the best car we ever had.

2010 Land CruiserThis is a great vehicle and I really like the fact that it is a high-end car, but understated and not ghetto. It is awesome. I also like the fact that it is very difficult to get, I had to wait a year for one. I don't see myself on the road everytime I go out of the garage. The quality of this vehicle is second to none.
