The Good
The 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander provides good fuel efficiency and is valued for its affordability, appealing to practical buyers. The available third-row seating is a major selling point for larger families. While not a performance vehicle, it offers adequate power for everyday driving. Its redesigned exterior aimed for a more modern and appealing aesthetic, potentially attracting emotionally driven buyers.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander include its somewhat lackluster engine performance, especially when fully loaded. The third-row seat is cramped and best suited for children. Some owners have reported issues with the continuously variable transmission (CVT). The interior materials and overall fit and finish are not as refined as some competitors.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Have?
Recalls for the 2015 Outlander have included issues related to the engine control module (ECM) that could potentially cause the engine to stall. Additionally, there have been recalls related to brake lights malfunctioning due to a faulty stop lamp switch. It's essential to check the vehicle's VIN with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to verify if all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the CVT's durability. Maintenance, including regular fluid changes, is crucial to prolonging the transmission's life. The 2014 model year, which is the first of the third generation, had more reported issues than the 2015 model, suggesting some improvements were made. However, potential buyers should still carefully inspect the vehicle's maintenance history and consider a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic to assess the overall condition and identify any potential problems.
How long will the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander last?
Long-term durability can be affected by rust, especially in regions with harsh winters and salted roads. Suspension components and bushings may also require replacement over time. Overall, consistent maintenance and addressing issues promptly will maximize the vehicle's lifespan.

How Does the 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Compare to Other Vehicle?
Reliability is a concern for the Outlander, particularly regarding the CVT. The CR-V and RAV4 have better-established reputations for long-term reliability. Price is where the Outlander shines. It's generally more affordable than its rivals, both new and used. The third-row seating is a unique selling point not offered by most competitors in this class, with the Nissan Rogue being a notable exception.
Alternatives to consider include the Honda CR-V for its reliability and resale value, the Mazda CX-5 for its sporty handling and upscale interior, and the Nissan Rogue for its similar size and available third-row seating. If reliability is a top priority, the CR-V or RAV4 are better choices. However, if budget and the need for a third-row seat are paramount, the Outlander may be a suitable option.

Super Utilized Vehicle on April 5, 2021
Most reliable car Iβve ever owned! This car has been so reliable itβs insane to rely on another equal sized suv. So far, has been well taken care of and reciprocates in return with its utility abilities and cargo capacity. Weβve gone camping with it and Iβd recommend putting on some Cooper evolution h/t tires on it for all terrain abilities.

Most reliable car I have ever ownedI own the basic one, the car is a good reliable one, for example, 5 years with same brakes and they are still good. Never had a problem except changing the battery after 4Years. The interior material and options could be better though, the paint is also very sensitive...Mitsu should consider offering some more options as standards.

Great Value for a Third Row SUVI have over 113k on this car. The third grow is tight but it does fit adults in a pinch. I have ES FWD model. It is plain, but has good crash ratings which is what sold me for a family car. The maintenance has been great. The only thing I don't like is the CVT transmission. You really have to rev it to get her up to speed. The MIVEC 4 cyl. motor is powerful enough and gets good mpg's on long trips. Travel space for a family of four is excellent. I didn't want to spend money on an awd because you really get ripped off on tires and not worth it. Bare in mind I live in New England and i can count on one hand in 20 years I've needed that capability. It's a good vehicle for those who view a family vehicle as a safe people hauler that gets good mpg's and has no pretense. Also the exterior design is quite nice. Are their nicer SUV's ? Yes. Will you get all this for 14k? (bought with 40k used) Nope...

Bought from terrible dealership Victory MitsubishiThis is a very cheaply made car, tons of recalls and everything is falling apart and has to be fixed. My car is only a 2015!! The dealership that sold me this particular car just ripped me off because the car is pretty much considered a lemon

2015 OutlanderGreat car. I have 95,000 miles on mine. Runs like the day I bought it. General maintenance performed. Never had a problem. These cars will last a long time 250,000 miles plus easily. Next time I'm buying the 7 seater with the 2.4. By the way my niece has a Mirage with 300,000 miles on it. 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. You can't beat it.

I LOVE this carI was looking for a reliable SUV that was big enough to haul all my camping gear but small enough to be a city car. This one fits the bill perfectly.
