The Good
The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander offers strong value for money, appealing to practical buyers. Its fuel efficiency and available third-row seating are pluses. While not a performance leader, it provides adequate power for daily driving. Comfort is decent, and the design is functional, if not overly stylish. Reliability is generally considered average.
The Bad
Weaknesses of the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander include lackluster acceleration, especially with the base engine. The interior materials can feel cheap. The infotainment system is dated and not very user-friendly. Be aware of potential transmission issues and ensure regular maintenance has been performed. The third-row seating is best suited for children.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Entertainment features include a standard six-speaker audio system, with a premium Rockford Fosgate system available on the GT. Safety features include standard airbags, anti-lock brakes, and stability control. Optional safety features such as lane departure warning and automatic high beams are available.
Crash test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) and IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) should be consulted for specific performance. Generally, the Outlander performs reasonably well in crash tests. However, it's crucial to verify the specific ratings for the 2018 model year from these organizations for the most accurate information.
The infotainment system is a common point of criticism, as it can feel dated and less responsive compared to systems from other manufacturers.

How Does the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Compare to Other Wagon?
Alternatives to consider include the Honda CR-V for its superior reliability and driving dynamics, the Toyota RAV4 for its reputation and fuel efficiency, and the Mazda CX-5 for its sporty handling and premium interior. The Nissan Rogue offers a more comfortable ride but suffers from similar CVT reliability concerns as the Outlander. If budget is a primary concern and the third row is a necessity, the Outlander might be a good choice. Otherwise, the CR-V, RAV4, or CX-5 are generally better all-around options.

Great SUVI had been looking for a great SUV and I finally found one that I liked more than the Honda CRV. The Outlander is bigger, but so comfortable and easy to maneuver. It’s a great traveling vehicle. Great on gas too! If you are looking for an SUV that has 4WD, great on gas and easy to drive, the Mitsubishi Outlander is the vehicle for you!

Zero regretsI bought this car for work. It’s been a month and I’ve been very happy with it! It’s far more comfortable than my truck, and the fuel mileage is great. I just drove 11 hours up to Maine and the car averaged 27 mpg. Inside is basic on my model, but it serves it’s purpose well!

Great suvI love this suv. It has all kinds of room. Plus a third row of seats if needed. Gas mileage is great. Plus it's kids approved.

1st OutlanderGreat SUV that has plenty of room with a smooth ride. I enjoy the look and the vehicle does not have the blindspots my last ford had.

Value and styleJust bought the 2018 SEL and so far absolutely love it. Don't believe the "expert" reviews. Plenty of power for what it is, take care of the cvt and change the oil it will reward you. Comfortable and tons of space for the kids and they love it. Stylish and unique. Feels higher end to me and my wife LOVES it.

Reliable SUVI've had this vehicle for two years, so far no issues. To me the MiVec technology is a bit different and I feel the shifting is not normal but apparently it is. The car itself is very reliable, the third row is very small I would say only for small kids. I've taken the vehicle on road trips a couple times and has performed greatly. The interior is pretty basic. Nothing fancy. I still think it is a great vehicle that is going to last many years.

Unbelievable 7 seater SUV with its Overall Value!Have had this now for more than a year and loving it! It doesnt have as many tech innovations as other vehicles but that is what I wanted since I dont like too much tech in vehicles that can fail or be a recall issue. The 3rd row is not as great for comfortability but is available if you need it so with it closed, you get alot of room in the vehicle. Excellent gas mileage that can compare with a hybrid we own as well. Only thing I wish they would improve would be the shocks so that when you hit a bump, it would be smoother. So far so good, have had no issues just regular maintenance but definitely love this vehicle and highly recommend to everyone looking for an affordable yet great looking and amazing overall value with awesome standard features.

Great choice for a lower cost AWD with 4 lock. This vehicle rides extremely smooth, great fuel mileage. It does well doing light off roading in sand. The Outlander also has a five star crash rating. I recommend this low cost SUV.

2 years, 0 problemsVery pleased with the room, especially rear cargo with last row seats down. I would buy again, and look forward to seeing the new model change. 30 MPG, typical, is above expectations. Durability of materials is impressive, the car responds to good care.
