The Good
The 2022 Honda Ridgeline boasts a smooth and comfortable ride (emotional appeal), thanks to its unique unibody construction. It's known for Honda's legendary reliability (practical). Its refined V6 engine delivers adequate performance. The innovative in-bed trunk and dual-action tailgate offer unmatched versatility (practical), while the truck's understated design appeals to some buyers (emotional).
The Bad
The 2022 Honda Ridgeline's towing capacity is lower than some competitors. Its exterior styling might not appeal to buyers seeking a traditional "tough" truck look. The infotainment system, while functional, lacks the flash of some rivals. All trims come standard with all-wheel drive, which increases the base price. Some owners find the fuel economy to be lower than expected in real-world driving conditions.

How Does the 2022 Honda Ridgeline Compare to Other Truck?
In terms of reliability, the Ridgeline is on par with the Tacoma, both boasting strong reputations. Feature-wise, the Ridgeline's in-bed trunk is a unique selling point. Price-wise, the Ridgeline can be more expensive than some base models of its competitors. If maximum towing capacity or serious off-roading is a priority, the Tacoma, Colorado/Canyon, or Ranger might be better choices. However, for a comfortable daily driver with truck capabilities and innovative features, the Ridgeline is a strong contender. The Hyundai Santa Cruz is also worth considering as a similar unibody truck alternative focused on comfort and daily usability.

Final Verdict: Is the 2022 Honda Ridgeline a Good Truck?

Great Truck - would Highly recommendI really love driving this truck. It rides and handles like a car but you have a truck when you need it. The only negative I have is it has a lot of wind noise which is annoying.

Great truck but……Can't beat this Ridgeline for comfort and amenities. 18k miles and it's been a pleasure other than two small issues. The CarPlay continuously disconnects and according to the dealer, there is no fix. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's basically useless. Also, wireless charging does not work. It connects but never charges. Same response, no fix at the dealer. Such a great vehicle I would highly recommend but these two issues mar an otherwise nearly perfect truck.

Ridgeline is a great all around vehicleIn retirement, we wanted to get to being a one-car couple. The Ridgeline has been perfect. Rides like a car with great features and still allows you to haul large or bulky items in the bed and tow (we've done both). The dual swing tailgate is great and we use the trunk all the time. Just been a great all in one vehicle.

New RidgelineI traded in my 2020 Ridgeline RTL-E for a 2022 Black Edition Ridgeline. Love the additional features, and the fact that they put a volume knob back on the infotainment system. Comfortable ride, love the tailgate and the in bed audio system which just blows people away! Also love the two way tailgate and the trunk in the bed.

Our Sixth RidgelineThis is our sixth Ridgeline. We use the Ridgeline as our daily transportation vehicle. We have towed trailers up to 5,000 pounds with safety and reliability.

Perfect truck for my needs.Comfortable, quite, refined feel. 24 MPG after 2600 miles. All of this comes at a cost. This is a pricy vehicle, one I'm pretty happy with. Infotainment system and voice recognition are lame, just like my 2017 MDX. I've kept a full size truck to use should something bigger be needed. Depending on how much use it (a 1500 Silverado) gets in the next year, I'll get rid of it and made do with the smaller, much nicer Ridgeline.
