The Good
The 2019 BMW M5 boasts blistering performance, offering incredible acceleration and handling. Its luxurious interior ensures comfort for daily driving. While not the most fuel-efficient, its design is both aggressive and elegant. For practical buyers, it's a usable sedan. Emotionally, it delivers an exhilarating driving experience and a sense of prestige, making it a desirable performance vehicle.
The Bad
The 2019 BMW M5's complexity can lead to potential maintenance issues, making it costly to repair. Fuel economy is also a weakness, especially during spirited driving. Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system. The initial high price point means significant depreciation, which may concern some buyers. What Problems Does the 2019 BMW M5 Have?
There have been recalls affecting the 2019 M5, primarily related to fuel pump issues (potentially leading to stalling) and potential wiring harness problems that could increase the risk of a fire. It's essential to check the vehicle's VIN against the NHTSA database to ensure all recall repairs have been performed.
Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the complexity of the twin-turbo V8 engine and the advanced electronics. The M5 requires meticulous maintenance, including frequent oil changes and inspections, to prevent costly repairs down the line. The active suspension components are also prone to wear and tear, and replacing them can be expensive. Some owners have reported issues with the differential.
While the engine is robust, proper maintenance is critical. Regular servicing is necessary to ensure long-term reliability. Ignoring scheduled maintenance can lead to significant problems that are costly to rectify.
How long will the 2019 BMW M5 last?

How Does the 2019 BMW M5 Compare to Other Sedan?
The Porsche Panamera offers superior handling and a more luxurious interior but comes at a higher price point. In terms of features, the M5 is well-equipped, but the others offer similar levels of technology and customization. Reliability is a mixed bag across the board, with all models requiring diligent maintenance.
Alternatives to the M5 include the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (for raw power and driver engagement, though less refined) and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio (for stunning design and performance, but lower reliability ratings). The choice depends on priorities: the M5 is a strong all-rounder, while others excel in specific areas. The M5 offers the best balance of performance and daily usability compared to its rivals.

Best Car I have owned! This car is incredible. It is so fast right front the factory and has so much luxury and comfort I am blown away. I have owned over 20 cars and this is by far the best one. Every time I slide into the driver seat and cruise around it brings nothing but smiles to my face.

I am a converted Porsche owner.I have owned 10 different 911's. I found the M5 was faster, had much more room for people and stuff, and unlike Porsche provides a ton of standard features. Porsche charges for every option, and many should in my opinion be standard at this price point. Driving the M5 is a thrill every single day. It is my absolute favorite car of all time.

M5: Best high Performance SedanReplaced my 911 with a Panamera 4 and then with this M5 Competition for my 2 growing kids. There's a world on difference between Panamera 4 and the M5. This is a supercar disguised like a 5 series. Draws less attention and a pure driver's car.

Great Car with Embarrassing Brake SquealThe brake squeal everyday is ridiculous on the M5 The dealer three times and every other dealer on the internet said itβs normal for an M car. For $110k, the brakes shouldnβt sound like they came off of a 1980s minivan. Other than that most painful daily experience, the rest of the car and performance is solid. The 19Γ’β¬Β wheels looking way better in person than in pictures on the BMW site. Power is exhilarating, surprisingly good fuel economy. About 22 MPG.

High performance super sedanAmazing mix of super performance, high technology, and luxury amenities. Has 617 BHP, all-wheel drive, dynamic driving modes, and massaging seats! The only change I would make is for rear-wheel steering (counter steering at low speeds) to shorten the turning radius.

Best car everI own the m5 competition I had it for 1 month so far and I usually never write reviews by man OMG I had to write a review about this one she is the most gorgeous powerful car I have owned and I have owned a couple BMW before but this one is by far the beast out of all of them extremely stable and extremely fast and very Luxurious in the same time I was skeptical about trading in my M4 but I think itβs the best decision I have ever made
