What Problems Does the 2006 Dodge Charger Have?
Several recalls have been issued for the 2006 Charger over the years. These include recalls for potential fuel leaks, airbag issues, and problems with the anti-lock braking system (ABS). It's crucial to check the VIN with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed. Long-term reliability can be a concern, particularly with the earlier model years. Proper maintenance and addressing issues promptly can help extend the life of the vehicle. Some owners have also reported issues with the automatic transmission, especially at higher mileage. Premature wear of brake components is also frequently reported, particularly in the R/T and SRT8 models due to their increased performance capabilities.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
The SRT8 model offered performance-oriented features such as performance-tuned suspension and Brembo brakes.
Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) vary. The 2006 Charger generally received good ratings in frontal crash tests, but side-impact ratings were less impressive. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) also conducted crash tests, and their ratings should be consulted for a comprehensive assessment. Keep in mind that safety technology has advanced significantly since 2006, so compared to modern cars, the 2006 Charger offers fewer active safety features such as blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning.

How Does the 2006 Dodge Charger Compare to Other Sedan?
Regarding reliability, the Charger has some known issues, potentially making it less reliable than the Impala or Crown Victoria. The Pontiac Grand Prix GXP offered similar performance to the Charger R/T but with front-wheel drive. Price-wise, the Charger was generally competitive within its class. For those prioritizing reliability and fuel efficiency, the Chevrolet Impala might be a better choice. If you want a luxurious ride with similar power, consider the Chrysler 300. However, if you value performance and bold styling above all else, the 2006 Dodge Charger (especially an R/T or SRT8) remains a compelling option, but be prepared for potential maintenance costs.

Did its job.I owned this car for 5 years, and throughout high school. This car is fast and handles flawlessly. If you are moving from a normal vehicle or a truck to this car you will notice a huge difference in performance. The new engine was necessary due to a mechanic putting far less than the recommended amount of oil in the car so the oiled burned out before normal and took the engine with it. Also the new engine makes it feel even better, and almost brand new regarding preformance. Overall this car is fast, good-looking, and reliable for many years to come.

Best car ive ever ownedI bought a 2006, dodge charger from a man and it wasn't in the best condition but i still bought it and on the way home the right wheel and the rotor fell off and i wrecked it so i let it sit in my garage and after 2 years I decided i was going to rebuild it and i did. After i finished rebuilding my charger i drove it everywhere and still do and i just put twin turbos in it and man i got to say im lovin it and so is everyone else this car is a beast and sounds like one too besides the paint fading off and the driver side mirror coming off after my brother hit it with a ball
