The Good
The 2019 Dodge Charger offers powerful performance, especially in higher trims, and a comfortable, spacious interior suitable for families. Its bold, aggressive design appeals to emotional buyers, while its relative affordability and practicality as a four-door sedan provide value for practical buyers. While not class-leading in fuel efficiency, it offers a compelling blend of power and usability.
The Bad
The 2019 Dodge Charger's weaknesses include below-average fuel economy, especially with the V8 engines. Some owners have reported issues with the infotainment system and electrical components. The interior, while spacious, can feel dated compared to rivals. Potential buyers should also be mindful of higher insurance costs associated with the performance trims and be aware of potential recalls.

How Does the 2019 Dodge Charger Compare to Other Sedan?
Alternatives to consider include: The Chrysler 300, which shares a platform with the Charger, offers a more luxurious experience. The Nissan Maxima offers a balance of sportiness and comfort. For those prioritizing fuel economy and a more refined driving experience, the Toyota Avalon could be considered but lacks the Charger's aggressive styling and performance options. The Kia Stinger, though technically a hatchback/liftback, provides a similar blend of performance and practicality with a more modern design.

Final Verdict: Is the 2019 Dodge Charger a Good Sedan?
Ricky Rich on June 11, 2024
SXT AWD 3.SXT AWD 3.6 V6 is a very comfortable and dependable car with enough power. I get 33 mpg on long trips and with AWD very handy for wet roads or snow. Lots of extra features like the Beats stereo and I also like the red door puddle lights, fold-down rear seat makes extra trunk hauling space, too. I recommend the Charger, No mechanical issues so far.

DOOR PANEL COMPLAINTi have a 2018 SXT it is plumb crazy purple love the color was going to buy a B5 blue until i seen them side by side. The biggest problem i have with it is the door panels warping on all 4 doors along with the drivers side console. This is a common problem with the Dodge cars. there should be a recall from the factory but alas nothing. Door panel run anywhere from 250 used to 600 new. Check the web about this before buying a Dodge.
Beastly V8 on April 5, 2021
Fastest car I've owned so farThis car looks very aggressive from the first day I got but I had to put a rhino push bumper with headlights rails to add to its safety. It's very strong on the road and can overtake any dough bag ricer that tries cutting me off. I get challenged often by other drivers due to the way my V8 sounds, which I love. I'd recommend this car to V8 enthusiasts for starters but the real power is higher than the R/T I currently own. Due to how bad they are on gas, they're not good as a daily vehicle if you drive often. Lastly, sport mode is awesome but launch control is insane with this R/T.

3rd Charger and I've loved them all.The 2019 Dodge Charger R/T Max is one of the best examples of a dying breed. The 3rd Gen 5.7L Hemi provides an ideal blend of power and performance. If you have a little self-control this vehicle is capable of averaging 30mpg on road trips. However, when the need arises speed is always on the menu. The Charger R/T is capable of reaching 60mph in under 5 seconds. Opting for the Technology Group (worth the $1,895 mark up) includes Adaptive Cruise Control, brake assist, Automatic High-Beams, Full Speed Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure warning, and Rain-sensing Windshield wipers. Vehicles equipped with this package are superb highway machines and well suited to spirited driving. The exhaust in these vehicles is generally subtle until the vehicle is placed in the sport mode. When the exhaust is at full roar Dodge's engineers have created a system with the capability of rivaling many of the best aftermarket options. In a world marching to the drum of smaller displacement in the name of efficiency, the 5.7L Dodge Charger satisfies the desire for a livable daily driver with the soundtrack of American Muscle. Best first car purchaseI've always wanted a Charger. This car is roomy for my three teenagers and myself. It's great on gas and an absolute joy to drive. I now find excuses just to get in it and drive!
