The 2015 Dodge Charger, a modern iteration of the classic American muscle car, is a four-door sedan offering both performance and practicality. This generation (2011-2023) brought a more aggressive design. Key trims include the SE, SXT, R/T, R/T Road & Track, SRT 392, and the Hellcat. The original MSRP ranged from around $27,000 to over $60,000 depending on the trim. It's popular for its bold styling, powerful engine options, and spacious interior.
The Good

The 2015 Dodge Charger boasts impressive performance, particularly in the R/T and SRT models. It offers a comfortable ride and spacious interior, appealing to practical buyers. Its aggressive design and powerful engine options ignite emotional appeal, while its relative value compared to other performance sedans is a strong point.

The Bad

Potential weaknesses of the 2015 Dodge Charger include lower fuel economy in higher performance trims and potential electrical issues. Some owners have reported problems with the infotainment system and active safety features. Reliability can vary, so a thorough inspection is recommended before purchase. Also, the large size can make it difficult to maneuver in tight spaces.

What Problems Does the 2015 Dodge Charger Have?

The 2015 Dodge Charger has faced some frequently reported problems. Electrical issues, particularly with the Uconnect infotainment system, are common complaints. Some owners have reported glitches, screen freezes, and Bluetooth connectivity problems. Issues with the car's computer system and sensors have also surfaced. The 2015 model year has also seen recalls related to airbag deployment, faulty wiring, and potential fuel leaks.

Long-term reliability can be a concern. Some owners have experienced issues with the car's suspension, transmission, and engine components, particularly in the higher mileage examples. The car's complex electronic systems can also be prone to failure over time, leading to expensive repairs. Rust can also be a problem in areas with harsh winter climates and salted roads. Checking the vehicle's service history and getting a pre-purchase inspection is crucial to assess the condition and potential for future problems. Investigating the specific VIN for recall notices is also vital before purchasing any used vehicle, especially one with known issues.

How long will the 2015 Dodge Charger last?

With good maintenance, a 2015 Dodge Charger can reasonably reach 150,000 to 200,000 miles or 10-15 years of service. However, achieving this depends significantly on diligent maintenance. Owners who follow recommended service intervals (oil changes, fluid flushes, etc.) and address repairs promptly will likely experience greater longevity. Potential long-term weaknesses include suspension components wearing out, increased risk of transmission issues, and potential for rust. Models driven aggressively or those not properly maintained may experience shorter lifespans.

I've owned my '15 Dodge Charger SXT Plus Rallye for over 2 years. Have not EVER had a problem with it and still enjoy getting in it and driving. Great response time and acceleration. Sexy body style. Rides great for road trips, lots of room. Will own this car til wheels fall off. Then...I'll buy another one.

The dealership is dishonest about the price. The site says $13,795 but what they don't tell you is, there is a $4950.00 upcharge for advertising. Horrible experience
Negative Owner Reviews

It's not your car to sell you can't take people cars and sell them that's wrong but you don't care !!! The family really needed the car.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2015 Dodge Charger offered a decent array of tech and safety features for its time. The base SE trim featured a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system, while higher trims like the SXT and above came with a larger 8.4-inch touchscreen. This system included features like Bluetooth connectivity, smartphone integration (limited compared to modern systems), and available navigation.

Driver-assistance features varied by trim and options. Available features included adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-path detection, lane departure warning, and forward collision warning. These features enhance safety but weren't standard on all models. A rearview camera was also available.

Safety features included standard antilock brakes, stability control, and a suite of airbags. The NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) gave the 2015 Charger a 5-star overall safety rating. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) gave it "Good" ratings in several crash tests, though some tests yielded lower scores. Overall, the 2015 Charger provides a reasonable level of safety and technology for its age, but it lacks some of the advanced features found in newer vehicles.

2015 Dodge Charger Prices and Market Value

When new, the 2015 Dodge Charger's MSRP ranged from around $27,000 for the base SE to over $60,000 for the Hellcat. Current used market prices vary greatly depending on trim, mileage, and condition. Expect to find SE and SXT models in the $12,000 - $18,000 range, while R/T models may fetch $18,000 - $25,000. Hellcat models retain value better, often selling for $40,000 or more.

Depreciation has been significant, especially for lower trims. Factors affecting resale value include mileage, condition, accident history, and the presence of desirable options. Higher performance trims like the Hellcat tend to hold their value better due to their desirability.

2015 Dodge Charger Cost of Ownership

The 2015 Dodge Charger is generally not considered economical to own. Insurance costs can be high, particularly for high-performance trims. Fuel consumption is considerable, especially with the V8 engines. Maintenance and repair costs can also be above average due to the car's complexity and performance-oriented components. While basic maintenance is manageable, unexpected repairs can be costly. Long-term ownership costs should be carefully considered before purchasing, especially for the higher-performance variants.

2015 Dodge Charger Insurance

Insurance for a 2015 Dodge Charger is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sedan with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2015 Dodge Charger Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2015 Dodge Charger competes with other large sedans like the Chrysler 300, Ford Taurus, Chevrolet Impala, and Toyota Avalon. In terms of performance, the Charger (especially the R/T and Hellcat) outperforms many rivals with its powerful engine options. The Chrysler 300 shares many components with the Charger and offers a more luxurious feel.

In terms of features, the Charger provides a decent array, but some competitors offer more advanced driver-assistance technologies. Reliability is a concern, as the Charger has had more reported issues than the Avalon or Impala. The Ford Taurus, while discontinued, offered available all-wheel drive, a feature not available on the Charger.

Price-wise, the Charger often offers a competitive advantage, especially when considering the performance offered for the money. If reliability and fuel economy are top priorities, the Toyota Avalon or Chevrolet Impala might be better alternatives. If a more luxurious experience is desired, the Chrysler 300 is a good option. However, for those seeking a blend of performance and affordability with a distinctive style, the 2015 Dodge Charger remains a compelling choice.

Final Verdict: Is the 2015 Dodge Charger a Good Sedan?

The 2015 Dodge Charger is ideal for those who value performance, bold styling, and a spacious interior in a large sedan. It's worth buying if you're aware of its potential reliability issues and higher running costs. Purchasing a used model is generally recommended, but a thorough inspection is crucial. Opting for a lower-mileage example with a clean service history is advisable. The R/T trim offers a good balance of performance and affordability. If you prioritize fuel economy and reliability, alternative options might be more suitable. However, for muscle car enthusiasts on a budget, the 2015 Charger offers a compelling experience.

It's not your car to sell you can't take people cars and sell them that's wrong but you don't care !!! The family really needed the car.

Dishonest Dealership

The dealership is dishonest about the price. The site says $13,795 but what they don't tell you is, there is a $4950.00 upcharge for advertising. Horrible experience

Good Looking Car but has electrical issues

Very Nice car inside and out. If only it didn't have electrical issues. After reading reviews from other Charger owners same problems with them. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing. I would have probably chosen a different make vehicle.

Bang for your buck

Even for a V6 this thing is an absolute beast. With a $50 dollar filter swap you can really get this car to preform a lot more like it's muscle car big beefy engine brothers and sisters. The beats sound system is also incredibly cool it won't rattle your trunk, but your going to feel that system in your chest when you listen to your favorite songs. Great price, great gas mileage, costs for maintenance and tune ups is relatively inexpensive for a “muscle” car. Oh and I got the dark blue one. Trust me. Get it in that color. At night it's black, in the early morning it's deep purple, in the afternoon it's a deep inky Milky Way galaxy blue, and at sunset it's just various shades of the three. Oh and it's like insanely huge on the inside, easily comparable to a mid size SUV. I absolutely love it!

Great service

Braxton Stoneking is a great service advisor. He is always willing to help with the service of my vehicle. He always goes above and beyond for me. I would recommend this dealer for service.

Great cars but with a list of common issues

This is a good car, overall a 4 out of 5. I like the build and the quality is nice, the Charger has the performance you want and the comfort to go with it. The downside is the engineering is too sophisticated to fix it with the common tools you can buy from the auto parts store or under $300. Also the long list of computers in this electrical system. If you want to work on your own vehicle without spending a fortune, this ain't the one. For most people it will be a good car, cool styling and fun to drive.

We Rolling!!!

The vehicle had more than I expected it to have, especially for a 2015. The big screen, the cookie and cream interior (Very rare), sunroof. It really took me by surprised and I made sure I was going to drive off that lot with this vehicle. The sensor and self lane assistance threw me for a loop. But with safety, everything helps. The power it has under the engine really made me get goosebumps
