The Good
The 2022 Corvette offers blistering performance thanks to its mid-engine layout and powerful V8. Its striking design turns heads. While not the focus, it achieves decent efficiency for its class. Value is exceptional for the level of performance. Its comfort is surprisingly good for a sports car, making it enjoyable daily driver. This appeals to both the emotional desire for a thrilling sports car and the practical need for a usable, stylish vehicle. While early C8 models had some issues, reliability has generally improved.
The Bad
The 2022 Corvette, while improved, still has some potential weaknesses. Watch out for potential electronic glitches, particularly with the infotainment system. Some owners have reported issues with the transmission. Also, be mindful of the low front splitter, which is prone to scraping. The rear visibility can be limited. Potential buyers should thoroughly inspect the car and check for any pre-existing issues. The relatively small trunk space may be a limitation for some.

What Problems Does the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Have?
How long will the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Other notable tech features include a head-up display (2LT and 3LT), a performance data recorder, and wireless charging.
Safety features encompass standard airbags, stability control, and traction control. Optional features include front lift, which raises the front of the car to clear obstacles, and Magnetic Ride Control, an adaptive suspension system.
Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA and IIHS were not available for the 2022 Corvette at the time of its release, but earlier C8 models have not been fully evaluated by these agencies. However, the Corvette is equipped with various safety technologies aimed at preventing accidents and mitigating injuries in the event of a collision. It's worth noting that the mid-engine configuration itself can contribute to enhanced safety due to the improved weight distribution and handling characteristics.

How Does the 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
Performance: The Corvette offers comparable or superior performance to many rivals at a lower price point.
Features: The Corvette is well-equipped, but some rivals may offer more luxurious interior appointments or advanced technology options.
Reliability: Porsche generally has a stronger reputation for reliability, while the Corvette's reliability has improved but still trails some competitors.
Price: The Corvette's main advantage is its price. It offers supercar performance at a fraction of the cost of an Audi R8 or McLaren.
Alternatives depend on priorities. For pure driving experience and handling, the Porsche 718 Cayman is an excellent choice, albeit less powerful in base form. The BMW M4 offers similar performance and practicality with a rear seat, albeit without the Corvette's exotic mid-engine layout. If budget isn't a major concern, the Audi R8 provides a more refined and luxurious experience with similar performance. The Nissan GT-R is also in the mix offering similar performance at a similar price, but it is an older platform at this point.

C8 is a smart man's Super Car.Never owned a Corvette before my 2020 C8 2LT. This American sports car is a super car costing 3 & 4 times less than others. My only disappointment is the camera in the interior rear view mirror. Head lights and driving lights flutter in the camera and at night following vehicles appear to be in a fog. It's a smart man's super car.

C8 Anniversary EditionCame from 2019 Challenger Hellcat to a 2023 C8 70th anniversary special edition in Carbon Flash. Handling is superb, fast and corners like on rails! Little hard to get into but suede interior is beautiful! Looks amazing! Reliable thus far! Shop around, for a good price!

It is OK to not like but stay in right lane! This is my 6th corvette in my lifetime. There are no other vette that compares. I got a lot of looks with the other vettes, however, this one, they want to touch it and think it is something other than a vette. People who put this car down do not understand the true sport car enthusiast. For those people, drive your Volkswagens and KIA's and stay in the right lane as we pass you with raw power and xxxxxxx up the outside attention. Just look at its value holds or go up in some cases or get the other ones and watch it lose $15000 as you drive off the lot. So lastly, for those who put this car down mainly cannot afford one. There nothing wrong with that, however, let the rest enjoy their life!!

Quit thinking about it and BUY THIS CARI have owned two other Corvettes, a C4 and C7 and ordered a C8 after attending Corvette Fun Fest. The 2022 C8 2LT HTC in Hypersonic Gray is hands down the most fun car we have ever owned. I have had ZERO issues with the car and now have 7500 event-free miles. My only suggestion is that the factory and dealers need to be on the same page with service intervals and what is included with the first visit. I never received the same answer twice as far as first oil change. Some say 500 miles, others 1500 and owners manual says 7500. Other than that, I love this car more than any car we have ever purchased. My only regret is not upgrading the wheels but that can be changed.

A bargain for the money. Fantastic car.Took delivery Easter weekend of '22. Drove it home almost 400 miles. Totally problem free. I've put almost 7,000 miles on it this summer. Drove it every day. Groceries, post office, whatever needed to be done. A couple road trips, one was about 1,000 miles over 3 days. What a joy to drive. Very comfortable. 2LT with no frills. In warm storage for the winter. Target date of April 1 to bring it back out.

Super Car Performance On A BudgetI have driven the 458 Spider many times and can comfortably say the Chevy is the American version at 1/3 the cost. I own a 2023 w z51 package, no magnetic shocks and my wife likes this car better than any other we have had for a daily driver as a passenger. I love that you can put it track mode and it is a beast or leave it in tour mode and get 22 mpg for trips. The controls are a little funky and the view with the roof down is somewhat obstructed but that’s being super picky. Best bang for the buck or super car performance on a budget.

Overly Hyped negative review must B Porsche OwnerThe guy that wrote the negative rating has to be a Porsche or Ferrari owner because they are living in yesterday's world. I was one of the first in CA to get my 2020 C8. It was a head-turner everywhere I went. The design, handling, and comfort are amazing. Gas mileage on open road trips was 34 MPG. Must have the LT2 because I can't imagine driving this car without the review mirror camera. I use the past tense here because I sold it to CarMax last November for $18K above what I paid for it (sticker MRSP) and it was 1 1/2 years old with 17,000 miles on it. I turned around and ordered a new C8, LT2, and will be taking delivery of my 2023 in August, just 3 weeks from now.

Wildly Over-hypedSpare parts impossible to get from Chevrolet. Car is wildly over-hyped and not worth the added dealer mar-up they charge. Dealer service is poor to non-existent.

Chevrolet Mid EngineIt's a Chevrolet that's all it is. Lots of inexpensive materials used on the interior as usual I'm sure the maintenance is going to be a fortune due to the placement of the engine. I knew this in advance but I wanted something that was faster than my Mustang coyote.

DreamCorvette has been my dream since I was 12 years old. Having waited that long to come true, paid off handsomely for the brilliant, revolutionary, and game changing model I ended up getting. It is a must have if you are into muscle cars but don’t want to pay half a million dollars to get one! 🙂
