The Good
The 2014 GT-R offers blistering performance and surprisingly good reliability for a car of its type. Its striking design and iconic status appeal to enthusiasts. While not the most fuel-efficient, it provides a compelling value proposition compared to other supercars, offering all-weather capability and impressive track performance. Comfort is adequate for a sports car, making it a usable daily driver.
The Bad
Weaknesses of the 2014 GT-R include its firm ride, which can be uncomfortable on rough roads. The interior, while functional, lacks the premium feel of some competitors. Transmission issues, particularly with hard launches, can occur, so a thorough inspection is crucial. Also, brake wear can be significant with aggressive driving.

Analysis
What Problems Does the 2014 Nissan GT-R Have?
Brake wear is also a common concern, especially for owners who track their cars or drive aggressively. The high-performance brakes are effective but can wear quickly, leading to higher maintenance costs.
Some owners have reported issues with the all-wheel-drive system, though these are less frequent. Electrical glitches, such as sensor malfunctions, can also occur.
While the GT-R is generally considered reliable for a high-performance vehicle, these are key areas to inspect when considering a used model. Check service records for transmission maintenance, brake replacements, and any reported AWD or electrical issues. There may have been recalls related to fuel pump issues in earlier years, so check the VIN with Nissan to ensure all recalls have been addressed. The 2014 model year itself didn't have significantly different issues compared to other years in the early R35 run, but preventative maintenance is key for longevity.
How long will the 2014 Nissan GT-R last?
Long-term durability concerns primarily center around the transmission and AWD system. Suspension components may also require replacement over time. Rust isn't a widespread issue, but inspecting for it, especially in areas prone to salt exposure, is advisable. Careful owners who diligently maintain their GT-Rs can expect a rewarding and long-lasting ownership experience.
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Entertainment is provided by a Bose audio system, offering a premium listening experience. Bluetooth connectivity enables hands-free calling and audio streaming. Dual-zone automatic climate control ensures comfort for both driver and passenger.
Driver-assistance features are relatively limited compared to modern cars. A rearview camera is standard, aiding in parking and maneuvering. However, features like blind-spot monitoring, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control were not available on the 2014 GT-R.
Safety features include anti-lock brakes (ABS), electronic stability control, and a suite of airbags. While the 2014 GT-R wasn't specifically crash-tested by the IIHS or NHTSA, the GT-R has generally performed well in independent tests. Its robust construction and advanced stability control contribute to its overall safety. Optional features were largely limited to trim-specific upgrades like Recaro seats and carbon fiber components. The focus was primarily on enhancing performance rather than adding advanced tech or safety features.

2014 Nissan GT-R Prices and Market Value
Factors affecting resale value include the car's condition, maintenance history, mileage, and any modifications. Cars with a clean title, documented service records, and no significant modifications tend to command higher prices. Rare or desirable trims like the Track Edition may also fetch a premium. Overall, the GT-R maintains a strong following, which helps support its resale value.

How Does the 2014 Nissan GT-R Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
Reliability-wise, the GT-R is generally considered reliable for its class, but potential transmission issues are a concern. The Corvette is known for its strong reliability, while the Porsche and Audi offer a more premium ownership experience with potentially higher maintenance costs.
Feature-wise, the GT-R lacks some of the advanced driver-assistance features found in newer models of its competitors. The Corvette offers a similar level of tech at a lower price.
In terms of price, the GT-R offers excellent value for its performance. If you prioritize raw performance and all-weather capability over luxury and refinement, the GT-R is a strong contender. However, if you value a more luxurious interior and a more prestigious brand, the Porsche 911 or Audi R8 may be better choices. The Chevrolet Corvette offers a similar blend of performance and value, and should also be considered.

Simply the best car I’ve ever owned!Simply the best car if ever owned. Thank God I was fortunate enough to have owned a few nice cars in my lifetime which were a CBA GT-R, 997.1 GT3RS, Ferrari 360, Ferrari 430, F80 M3, S2000, 911 Turbo S and a few more to mention. By far the 2014 GT-R checks all the boxes on my list I terms of power, looks, rarity, space, technology and build quality. I know some people may not agree with me on this and may say that the car is “lacking soul†but obviously they haven’t own a GTR before. I’m not looking for debate but just giving my honest opinion.

Exceptional performance for the money. As a track car the GT-R is about as good as it gets; extremely capable in both drag and track situations. Solid build quality with excellent reliability in stock form makes it the best choice in its price range.

Excellent vehicle-no comparison to this vehiclThis car is best in its category in price, drive and comfort and mileage if you drive with low pedal. Comfortable considering being a track car.

Affordable Hyper-car with to the moon cool factorThis car has to be driven to be believed. I have been a race car driver for years and this car eats everything alive. There are only about 7 cars that can outperform it and all are multiple times more expensive. Still very comfortable to drive. My race partner says this car is not a scalpel its a chainsaw.

#DreamCarThe vehicle is a beauty! Its one thing to watch it on Youtube (Which I've been doing for quite some time) and its another thing to actually DRIVE IT! The Dealership (Ultimo Motors) is a GORGEOUS showroom. Its classy and luxurious! To top it off, they made me feel like a valued customer. I would definitely recommend this car, as well as this dealership to a friend!

Best performing car I've ever ownedThe GTR is fantastic. I love the way it looks. Driving it around town is always a pleasure. I use it as my daily driver and to even get groceries. I love the sound of the turbos spooling up. I've never had any problems with it either. Maintenance is a little expensive though.

Unbelievable PerformanceThe Nissan GT-R is a fantastic performance car. Maintenance costs are higher than a standard car, but the cost of ownership is worth it. I drive it mostly on the weekend and it puts a smile on my face every time. It sounds awesome and has more than enough power.
