The Good
The 2015 Nissan NV200 boasts excellent fuel efficiency for a cargo van, making it a practical choice. Its compact design allows for easy maneuvering in tight spaces. It offers a surprisingly comfortable ride for its class and represents strong value due to its affordable price point. Emotionally, it offers business owners the appeal of a reliable and cost-effective work partner.
The Bad
The 2015 Nissan NV200's weaknesses include its somewhat underpowered engine, which can struggle when fully loaded. Its basic interior lacks refinement. Potential buyers should watch out for transmission issues, especially with higher mileage. The ride can be bumpy, and the safety features are limited compared to newer vans.

What Problems Does the 2015 Nissan NV200 Have?
Another area of concern involves the electrical system. Some owners have reported issues with the battery draining prematurely, faulty sensors, and problems with the infotainment system. Premature brake wear has also been noted, requiring more frequent brake pad replacements than average.
There have been some recalls issued for the NV200, including recalls related to fuel leaks and airbag deployment issues. It's essential to check the vehicle's VIN with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the CVT transmission's durability. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes, is crucial to mitigate potential problems. Suspension components, such as struts and bushings, may also require replacement over time due to wear and tear.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features are limited. A rearview camera was available as an option, improving visibility when backing up. There are no advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) like automatic emergency braking or lane departure warning available.
Safety features include standard antilock brakes (ABS), stability control, traction control, front-seat side airbags, and side curtain airbags. These are standard across both trims.
The 2015 Nissan NV200 received mixed crash-test ratings from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It achieved "Good" ratings in some tests but lower ratings in others. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) did not conduct full crash tests on the 2015 NV200.
Overall, the NV200's tech and safety features are adequate for its intended purpose as a budget-friendly cargo van, but they lack the sophistication and advanced technologies found in newer or higher-end vehicles. Optional features were limited, primarily focusing on convenience and entertainment enhancements.

How Does the 2015 Nissan NV200 Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle Van?
Reliability-wise, the NV200's CVT transmission is a potential weak point compared to the more traditional automatic transmissions in its rivals. The Transit Connect has a good reputation for reliability. Price is where the NV200 often shines, typically being the most affordable option.
Alternatives include the Ford Transit Connect, which offers better performance and often more features, but at a higher price. The Ram ProMaster City provides a good balance of performance and utility, but can also be more expensive. If budget is the primary concern, and you don't need maximum power, the NV200 is a reasonable choice. However, the Ford Transit Connect is often considered a better overall package due to its superior driving dynamics and features.

Worse vehicle for rims and tiresI have had many problems when i hit a pothole. I usually lose the tire and the rim. The rims are the worst ones i have ever had on a vehicle. I have had my 2015 nissan nv200, for 4 years. I have had to replace 8 rims with tires. Buffalo,ny has potholes every winter. Never had so many problems . Will never buy a nissan nv200 again!!!!!!!!!!

cvt transmission failuretransmission failed only after 40k milleages. out of lock no warranttee. I have to replace it for over $4000! you have to change transmission fluid more freqently than reguler cars.

If you it have the CVT TRANSMISSION DO NOT BUYVan just hit 105k miles and transmission failed. Dealership wants $4300 and I called Nissan corporation consumer affairs and they said I'm out of luck. They only warranty 100k miles I'm 5000 miles over. What a piece of garbage company that puts out a bad product. No one expects a transmission to fail right around the 100k miles mark. That is unacceptable.

Good vehicle so far despite the bad press. My 2015 NV200 SV is my work van. I added a ladder rack with two ladders and a step ladder which had a big effect of the fuel economy (from about 25 mpg to 20 mpg). The paint and body panels are easily damaged so I strongly recommend adding a bra or 3M transparent film. Inside plastic is easily scratched. The seats are comfortable and the driver sits higher than the average mini van so visibility is better. The tires that Nissan puts on this van will wear out quickly so this van has the unfair reputation of going through tires fast which is not true. I replaced the cheap Goodyear Eagle Cargo Tires with Nokian WGR All Weather tires and the wear is normal after over 24,000 miles (Looks like they're good for at least another 24,000 miles). I noticed much better performance in snow and ice conditions after that. Cab heater is inadequate for cold weather regions and you have to keep it in "recirculation" below -10 to -15 degrees celcius. AC works OK in temperatures over 25 degrees Celsius. Parking is very easy in tight situations. Acceleration and handling are adequate but not fantastic (that's good enough for work). GPS Navigation is adequate but not super accurate. Engine and CV transmission still working well but wheels seem to need realignment at almost every service rotation. Only real problem I've had with this van were the power door lock actuators in weather below -1 degree Celsius. Dealer found that they were not adjusted properly and finally fixed it after three visits.
