The Good
The 2019 Nissan NV200 offers practicality through its fuel efficiency and compact design, making it easy to maneuver and park in urban environments. Its reliability provides peace of mind for business owners. Value is a strong point, offering a capable cargo van at an affordable price. The NV200 appeals emotionally with its promise of increased business efficiency and reduced stress related to transportation.
The Bad
The 2019 Nissan NV200's weaknesses include its relatively low horsepower, which can make it feel underpowered when fully loaded. The interior is basic and lacks some of the comfort features found in other vans. Its safety ratings are also not the highest. Potential buyers should watch out for transmission issues, which have been reported by some owners. Rust can also be a concern in colder climates.

What Problems Does the 2019 Nissan NV200 Have?
Another area of concern is the electrical system. Issues with sensors, wiring, and the battery have been reported. Some owners have experienced problems with the rearview camera and other electronic features. Premature brake wear is also a relatively common complaint, potentially due to the van's use in stop-and-go city driving.
Rust can be a long-term reliability concern, particularly in areas with harsh winters and salted roads. Inspecting the undercarriage and body panels regularly is advised. Recalls have been issued for the NV200 in the past, though not specifically focused on the 2019 model, it's always best to check the NHTSA website for any outstanding recalls related to the VIN. Long-term, the relatively low horsepower may lead to increased wear and tear on the engine and transmission, especially if the van is frequently used for heavy hauling. Keeping up with preventative maintenance is crucial to mitigate these potential problems.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Standard driver-assistance features include a rearview camera, which is essential for maneuvering in tight spaces, especially considering the van's limited rear visibility. Other standard safety features include electronic stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. Higher trims don't add much in advanced safety tech; options are very limited.
Crash-test ratings from the IIHS and NHTSA should be consulted for specific details, but the NV200's ratings are generally considered adequate but not exceptional. It's important to note that the focus is on basic safety rather than cutting-edge driver-assistance technologies like blind-spot monitoring or automatic emergency braking, which are typically unavailable. The 2019 NV200 prioritizes functionality and affordability over advanced features.

How Does the 2019 Nissan NV200 Compare to Other Cargo?
Reliability is a mixed bag. The NV200 has reported CVT issues, while the Transit Connect has its own set of potential problems. The ProMaster City is generally considered relatively reliable. Price is where the NV200 shines; it typically undercuts its competitors, making it the most affordable option.
If performance and features are a priority, the Ford Transit Connect is a better choice, offering a more refined driving experience and greater customization options. The Ram ProMaster City offers a good balance of reliability and practicality. However, if budget is the primary concern, the Nissan NV200 is a viable option, provided potential buyers are aware of the CVT transmission risks and prioritize preventative maintenance. Depending on individual needs, a used Ford Transit Connect or Ram ProMaster City might offer a better overall value.
