The Good
The 2023 Subaru Crosstrek offers standard all-wheel drive, appealing to practical buyers seeking traction in various conditions. Its reliability and fuel efficiency provide peace of mind. The raised ride height and available sporty styling appeal to those seeking adventure. It balances practicality with a touch of rugged individuality, providing excellent value for its price.
The Bad
A primary weakness of the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek is its engine performance, particularly with the base engine, which can feel underpowered, especially when fully loaded or going uphill. The interior space, especially in the rear seats and cargo area, is limited compared to some competitors. Some drivers may find the continuously variable transmission (CVT) uninspiring.

What Problems Does the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Have?
Recalls for the 2023 model should be checked on the NHTSA website, but potential issues that could lead to recalls might include problems with the fuel pump, airbags, or electronic control systems. Long-term reliability concerns often focus on the longevity of the CVT transmission, though Subaru has made improvements over the years. Regular maintenance, especially fluid changes for the CVT and differentials, is crucial for long-term reliability. Specific recall information should always be verified through official sources.

How Does the 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
The Crosstrek stands out with its standard all-wheel drive and Subaru's reputation for reliability. However, its base engine can feel underpowered compared to some rivals. If performance is a priority, the Mazda CX-30 is a better choice. If cargo space is key, the Honda HR-V is preferable. For similar all-wheel-drive capability and a more rugged aesthetic, the Jeep Renegade could be considered, but be prepared for lower fuel economy. Overall, the Crosstrek offers a balanced package, but its rivals may excel in specific areas.

No performance, Not comfortable on longer road trips. No performance, Not comfortable on longer road trips. Wind noise is disturbing. It's a weird vehicle that sits up. Transmission cvt is beyond cheap. Fuel mileage is not impressive enough. Stereo is cheap, slow on navigate. I, wouldn't recommend this vehicle.

Not a good auto car choiceResale value reputation is awful. What a bad experience buying this type of car. Yes, it's been a headache ever since I bought it. Engine problems, transmission problems. Plastic pieces making rattle sounds, it's a bit cheap. After trading it in, I have felt happier. I, wouldn't ever buy this car again or even recommend it.

I, wouldn't buy this car againNot a good auto car choice. This car being new lived in the service dept. Transmission issues, to engine hesitation. Just a car, but it's not reliable enough so I had to trade it in. Seats are comfy, gas mileage should be better than what it is. Road noise is terrible.

Junkyard carsOverall experience, one year owner ship myself also others agree that these cars are just scrap metal. They are made cheaply, and they don't even hold there value. Terrible gas mileage, suspension sucks. Full of plastic pieces around this car. It looks stupid, cheap design.

Same price tag as a nice electric suvBeyond outdated first of all. The price tag is to much for this car. Terrible resale value, terrible gas mileage. The ride quality is uncomfortable. Wind noise coming inside the car is annoying. Cheap stereo system, it's just an old news car. Just traded mine in before it's to late. I'm going to let someone else deal with the headache.

Great CarThis is my second Crosstrek and I love it. I live in the Northeast and it's the best car I've ever had for driving in snow and sleet. It also has great pickup for when I want to pass a car or for going uphills.

2023 Crosstrek SportThis is our first Subaru and we couldn’t be happier. Handles extremely well, gets about 30 mpg (average), and keeps me focused on the road. High feature car for the price. Technology galore! Fun to drive and has plenty of pep when you need it. We chose the “Sport†model for its look and inviting interior.

A Fun Vehicle To DriveI bought a 6 speed manual transmission, very easy to handle and fun to drive. Roomy and comfortable inside. Nice looking hubcaps. Good storage when seats folded.

Manual TransmissioRecently purchased a new 2023 Subaru Crosstrek Premium with the 6spd. Probably one of the last 6spd made since they stopped taking orders for manuals 2 days after I ordered it. Really like the car, rides like an SUV but handles like a small car. would be nice if the seats had some adjustable lumbar support. Transmission is smooth and have been averaging right at 30mpg. Mainly bought it because I live out in the country now and need the AWD for the winters. Does not have tons a bells and whistles which is ok with me, less electronics to go bad as the years go on. Really great car would recommend.

2023 Subaru Crosstrek Limited. Very satisfied.I bought the Subaru Crosstrek Limited with 7 miles on it. The hardest decision was which color to choose. I have only had the car for less than a month, so I am still learning all the safety features and new technology. That is why some of the ratings are only a 4. So far, I am very pleased with the handling, gas mileage, and the comfort of the head and leg room.
