What Problems Does the 2016 Volvo S80 Have?
Another potential issue is related to the suspension. As the car ages, components like struts and bushings can wear out, leading to a less comfortable ride and potentially affecting handling. Oil leaks from the engine or transmission are also something to watch out for, particularly in higher-mileage examples.
Regarding recalls, it's essential to check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for any outstanding recalls specific to the 2016 Volvo S80. Recalls can address safety-related issues and are typically repaired free of charge by Volvo dealerships.
Long-term reliability generally depends on how well the vehicle has been maintained. Regular servicing, including oil changes, fluid checks, and timely replacement of wear items, is crucial for preventing major problems. While the 2016 model year itself doesn't have significantly different reported issues compared to preceding years of the same generation, pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic is always recommended to identify any existing or potential problems.
How long will the 2016 Volvo S80 last?
What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Driver-assistance features could include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, and blind-spot monitoring, although these were typically part of optional packages. These systems used sensors to monitor the car's surroundings and provide alerts or assistance to the driver. How Does the 2016 Volvo S80 Compare to Other Sedan?
The S80 stood out for its comfortable ride and focus on safety, but its infotainment system felt dated compared to rivals. Reliability was generally good, but not quite on par with Lexus. Price-wise, the S80 could represent good value on the used market.
Alternatives depend on priorities. For greater reliability, a Lexus ES or Acura TLX might be better choices. For sportier handling, the BMW 3 Series is preferable. For more modern technology, the Audi A4 is a strong contender. If comfort and a strong emphasis on safety are paramount, and value is a key concern, the 2016 Volvo S80 remains a viable option.

My 4th Volvo & The Best of AllI've owned 3 Volvos before this one & drove each 1mto around 150K moles or more without any (repeat: ANY) mechanical problems of any kind. My new S80 now has 24K miles & is the best one yet. It gets 37+ mpg on the road, 24+ mpg around town is comfortable to ride in and an easy delight to drive. Volvo & it's dealers really take care of you & are also delightful to deal with. I can afford whatever car I choose but for almost 50 years it's been nothing but Volvos. I've never been disappointed.

Devoted S80 FanI loved my 2007 S80 so much that I bought a 2016. I'm not a race car driver, so the performance is completely adequate. Others may complain about the dashboard full of real buttons, but sorry, I don't like having to swipe through several on-screen menus just to turn on my seat heaters. Safe as a back vault, and dependable as the sunrise. And btw, if you are l order the climate package, you get an electrically heated windshield. Go find a feature like that on any other car - just don't hold your breath. This is the short of Volvo ingenuity that keeps me coming back.

Reliable, great simple car.I was able to test drive a 2016 Volvo S 60 that was fully loaded. The vehicle was a delight to drive, very comfortable. However The interior design could use an update. There is center console full of buttons and a now smaller navigation screen as compared to other 2016 vehicles. Nevertheless, the vehicle does feel very sturdy and seems to be very reliable. In terms of the price point, the vehicle is a steal. It is hard to find another vehicle at this price point that delivers the proper comfort And required technologies today.
