The Good
The 2023 GMC Yukon boasts powerful performance from its engine options, offering robust towing capabilities. Its spacious and comfortable interior appeals to families, while the Denali trims provide a luxurious experience. The Yukon's bold design and strong road presence satisfy emotional desires, while its reliability (though not perfect) and overall utility make it a practical choice.
The Bad
The 2023 GMC Yukon, while impressive, has some weaknesses. Fuel economy is below average, especially with the larger engines. The independent rear suspension, while improving ride, can make cargo floor height higher. Some owners report issues with the infotainment system and electronic features. The higher trims can be very expensive. Watch out for potential sensor malfunctions.

What Problems Does the 2023 GMC Yukon Have?
While specific recalls for the 2023 model year will vary, it's important to check the NHTSA website for the most up-to-date information. Common recall areas for this generation of Yukon have included issues with airbag deployment, fuel pump failures, and brake system malfunctions.
Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the complex electronic systems and the potential for increased maintenance costs as the vehicle ages. Some owners have reported issues with the active fuel management (AFM) or dynamic fuel management (DFM) systems, which can lead to premature wear and tear. While the engines themselves are generally considered reliable, these systems can add complexity and potential points of failure. Regularly scheduled maintenance and addressing any warning signs promptly are crucial for long-term reliability.

How Does the 2023 GMC Yukon Compare to Other Minivan?
Price-wise, the Yukon is positioned between the Tahoe and the more expensive Grand Wagoneer. The Expedition can be similarly priced depending on trim.
Alternatives to consider: If reliability is a top priority, the Nissan Armada is worth a look, despite its shortcomings in other areas. For a balance of features and value, the Chevrolet Tahoe/Suburban are very similar and often more affordable. If luxury is paramount, the Jeep Grand Wagoneer provides a truly upscale experience, albeit at a higher price point. The Ford Expedition offers a compelling blend of power and features.

Stabilitrack and Svc Transmission lights come on while on I-95 Dangerous situation. Limped to local GMC dealer. ECM was bad. Car would not go in park, change gears. Also had rattle from day 1. Quality with GM cars gets worse and worse. And I have owned 26 GM vehicles.
