We looked at all van brands before picking the Odyssey. We also test drove the Toyota and Kia vans. The main feature that sold us was the second row seating. With the middle section out the two outside captains seats can slide from side to side as well as forward and rearward. They are called Magic Seats and are great. We slide our grandkids to the middle in case of a side impact. We have had some recalls, but none of them caused use any problems before they were repaired. We would buy this van again now. We have had it since new and now 40 months and 36,500+ miles we are happy.

2018 Odyssey in 2021. Engine light is on all the time, mechanics cannot find/fix the problem. The entertainment system shuts down consistently. Good tires but poor on snow/ice. The car breaks automatically when for no reason. Mechanics had to something in the driver's side door that was draining the battery.

This is the worst car I have ever own! There were multiple recalls (which isn't bad) and the infotainment system always stopped working (very annoying). The worst issues were when it would slam on the brakes while driving on the highway, a transmission replacement at 23,000 miles, and honda sensing making things very unsafe! (Pulling me into another Lane while a car was next to me, slamming on the brakes, and more) My "favorite" thing was when it shifted itself into park while cruising at 50 mph. Honda acknowledge that there was issues but the only thing they would fix was replacing the transmission. After two years of ownership and over 50 trips to the dealership, I traded that car in. So much for Honda reliability.

Have two issues with the minivan. These issues are happening in 2018 model since there is not much change between 2018 and 2019. There is a very high probability that 2019 may also have this issue. 1) Van's speakers occasionally make ticking sounds for about 30 to 60 minutes. It also makes spark sounds when I try to unlock the door or when I release the brake after engine auto shutdown(elite feature). In total dealer has kept the vehicle for more than 35 days to fix this issue. 2) Van's A/C makes a high pitch sound. Again Honda does not have a fix for this. My personal suggestion will be to not purchase this until Honda finds a fix for the above two issues.

Best Mini Van

This is our second odyssey, love the can with all the safety features. We have had great reliability, and now have just under 100,000 miles (99683) and have had only minor issues. Normal wear items plus an injector problem repaired under warranty. A few recall items ( door handles, back up camera fuel pump) all taken care of under warranty Love this vehicle, love it and will buy another when they redesign it. Rides very well, has a ton of safety features, interior is very comfortable. Highly pleased.

2018 Odyssey Experience

2018 Odyssey in 2021. Engine light is on all the time, mechanics cannot find/fix the problem. The entertainment system shuts down consistently. Good tires but poor on snow/ice. The car breaks automatically when for no reason. Mechanics had to something in the driver's side door that was draining the battery.

Most Exasperating Car I've Owned

Love the unique body style and it's pick-up at any speed! However, I do not like: the 5 windows that are very dark and make it almost impossible to see out of; that the emergency brake cannot be employed if the driver's seat belt is not fastened; the 'Auto Idle Stop' stalled the car after pulling into the left lane of a frontage road, I had to restart the car on the roadway, this feature may be disabled, but must be done every time the car is started; with the 3rd row seats stowed underneath, the deck has a hump through the middle which means that any large item will not sit flat; configuration of interior roof precludes positioning a 3rd dog crate on top of 2 lower ones, no room to open the crate door; Honda has not solved their transmission problems, this one gives out a loud ' klunk' almost every time I change direction of travel despite Honda telling me that it is OK. My 2000 Odyssey was ready for it's 3rd transmission! Hearing that Transmission Fluid for this 9 gear car is $50/quart does not make me happy either!

Best new car in years, my wife loves it

We looked at all van brands before picking the Odyssey. We also test drove the Toyota and Kia vans. The main feature that sold us was the second row seating. With the middle section out the two outside captains seats can slide from side to side as well as forward and rearward. They are called Magic Seats and are great. We slide our grandkids to the middle in case of a side impact. We have had some recalls, but none of them caused use any problems before they were repaired. We would buy this van again now. We have had it since new and now 40 months and 36,500+ miles we are happy.

Most reliable vehicle I owned is Chevy Tahoe Truck

This vehicle is okay but to many recall, I paid to much money for my vehicle to have so many problems with it. I wouldn't recommend any one to purchase a Honda Odyssey.

It's the most comfortable car I have owned

Worst car I ever owned

I bought this car used, and I have noticed that the transmission is the weakest part of it. The original transmission failed within one month of ownership, a different transmission was installed, and this transmission is behaving exactly like the last one. Such as having issues accelerating from standstill, and you can feel it slipping while in motion, just like the original transmission, overall an unreliable, and a money pit vehicle.

SUVs are so overrated... compared to this!

The Honda Odyssey is the best family car out there. Plenty of room for the kids to walk around, excellent for long trips and extremely reliable. The Odyssey is the best deal out there for a family vehicle for the money.
