What Problems Does the 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Have?
Recalls for the 2012 M-Class have addressed concerns such as potential fuel filter flange leaks, which could increase the risk of a fire. Check the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) website for specific recall information related to your vehicle's VIN. Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the complexity of the vehicle's systems. As the vehicle ages, components like sensors, actuators, and electronic modules can become prone to failure, leading to potentially expensive repairs. The diesel engine (BlueTEC) can also experience issues related to the emissions control system, which is common in diesel vehicles with similar technology. Regular maintenance and addressing issues promptly are crucial for long-term reliability.

How Does the 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
In terms of used prices, the M-Class is often similar or slightly lower than the BMW X5 and Audi Q7. If reliability is a primary concern, the Lexus RX or Acura MDX might be better alternatives. If you prioritize a sportier driving experience, the BMW X5 is a good option. If you need more space, the Audi Q7 is worth considering. Ultimately, the best alternative depends on your individual priorities and budget.

Previously owned & recently purchased MBZ ML350I recently purchased a 2012 ML350 with 96k, at first it stalled on the hill and the dealer said that it was a faulty camshaft ignition sensor I changed it plus transmission service, the fluid alone was a $1000 job. Recommended services were totaled about $6500.

I love diesel MercedesThe 2012 used ml350 Bluetec that I purchased is a dream to drive. The small turning radius makes u-turns carefree. The Diesel engine purrs as quietly as a gas engine. Itβs the 10th Mercedes that Iβve had, and the 2nd diesel. I plan on driving this car for many more years. Itβs an Arizona car, 8 years old,and still like new. 61,000 miles and lots of life left.

2012 350ML dieselI currently on this fee ical and purchased it 3 years ago. With only 19000 miles on it! It is a fabulous car. It may not have all of the current Bells and whistles that the new ones do but it does have the Driver assist sensors that help with determining your location in proximity to other cars and objects as well as when you're changing lanes. Love this car and wanna keep it for a while! It was made in Germany and built like a tank and is one of the last diesels that Mercedes made. We have had minimal Necessary repairs. The car currently has around 85000 miles on it. Just love this car!

Traveled the first 500 miles - SUPERB!Finally found the car I'd been looking for with BLUETEC diesel. Performance - top notch - still has passing gear/power available at 3 digits +! Interior is spacious and appointments with details are what I expect from Mercedes. Owned a '86 300D and sold it with 365K miles six years ago...it's still running smoothly for that 2nd owner. And, we got 29.8 mpg over first 500 miles today!

Okay, kinda', but not worth the costI have twice been stranded due to the shifter not coming out of Neutral. Can't go forward or reverse. This is a big dependability problem! Also, the non-leather seats have worked on destroying themselves with little cupped cuts (not due to anything in or on my pants, just fatigued and marginal material. I'd much rather have normal leather wear with the fold lines, etc. that appear over time in some vehicles. Electronic parking brake very loud. I test drove other new, and they were all the same, annoying. Navigation voice recognition is marginal...takes a lot of repeating. Running boards are more of a problem than help. PS, High towing capability...and I personally like the way the rear seats folded down. All reviewers complain as "old school design" but, it allows folded rear seat backs to be flat and it protects the backs of the front seats from shifting cargo.
