Positive Owner Reviews

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety was a major focus, with standard features like front and side airbags, as well as side curtain airbags covering all three rows of seats. Optional safety features included integrated child booster seats. Crash-test ratings from the IIHS were generally good, with the XC90 earning "Good" ratings in several categories. The NHTSA also awarded the XC90 high marks for frontal and side impact protection. The robust safety cage and comprehensive airbag system contributed to its strong safety performance. While not as advanced as today's technology, the 2007 XC90 offered a respectable level of tech and safety for its era.

How Does the 2007 Volvo XC90 Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Feature-wise, the XC90 was competitive, especially regarding safety. However, rivals like the Acura MDX often offered more advanced technology. Reliability is a mixed bag; the Lexus RX 350 is known for its exceptional reliability, while the XC90 can be prone to certain issues. Price-wise, the XC90 was generally in line with its competitors when new, and used prices reflect its age and depreciation.
Alternatives to consider include the Acura MDX for a sportier experience and better technology, or the Lexus RX 350 for superior reliability. The Buick Enclave is another option, offering similar space and features at a potentially lower price point, but with less brand cachet. Consider the specific needs and priorities when choosing between these vehicles.

My third Volvo and safety my main issue. My third Volvo and safety my main issue. Styling is nice, but driver's leather seat is cracking. I am the third owner. Wish I'd read all the reviews as I likely would have passed this up. Apparently all the issues everyone mentions has happened. Bought it to replace a car that encountered a deer last weekend, but with all the unseen repairs the Volvo needs, I will be paying as much for repairs as I did to buy it. Tires had dry rot; needs front tie rods, rear solenoid, windshield washer pump replaced; a new regulator--which kept it from passing inspection; rear brake pads/rotors, etc. Mostly it will be labor but I wanted it to be good to go as I do a lot of long distance weekend trips. Center console came loose/glued into place!!! Haven't tried the sound system, but not much of an issue for me. Getting used to the controls, Rides smooth, looks nice, handles somewhat differently than other cars. Named it after my brother who had Down Syndrome. Hope that is not going to be the case here: "down" syndrome. I'll put some money into it, but hope it will give at least 150K + miles. It's at 128979 now. All the issues others mention seem to be true. Should have done my homework better. But it's a Volvo, and if I can get it up and going, it will definitely meet my needs. My $5300 investment will be an $11K car when I'm done.

Great carI love the Volvo, its very spacious with the extra third row seating. It would be good for a family, or even travelers. I just figured out that the seats lie down which is pretty cool.

Fantastic carIt has tons of room, and is amazingly comfortable. My family and I took tons of trips in this thing and even though it has over 185,000 miles, it still was dependable and great. I highly recommend.

Best car I've ever owned. After considering all the comparables, we decided to look for a used Volvo because they are well-built, comfortable, reliable, and the safest cars on the road. Plus my husband already has a used Volvo sedan that we love. We found a 2007 one-owner XC-90 in mint condition and snatched it up for a reasonable price. I can't rave enough about this gem. It's beautiful, handles like a dream, great acceleration and stopping, quiet, and so cushy, you could sleep comfortably in it if you had to. It's also full of amazing and unexpected luxury and safety features that make driving safer, e.g. winter mode with DST and controls for just about everything on the dash are also on the steering wheel so the driver doesn't doesn't have to take their eyes off the road to change the radio station, disc player, or volume, and those are just the few I remember. This is definitely the best car I've ever owned and I hope it's my last. My previous car, a 1996 Rodeo, lasted 22 years and would have lasted longer if I hadn't run into a telephone pole when the brakes failed, not her fault, God rest her soul.
