The Good
The 2021 Jeep Renegade offers a blend of adventurous design and practical functionality. Its distinctive Jeep styling and available four-wheel drive provide emotional appeal, while its compact size and decent fuel efficiency cater to practical buyers. It offers acceptable performance for daily driving and a comfortable, albeit small, interior.
The Bad
Potential weaknesses of the 2021 Jeep Renegade include its relatively small cargo space and somewhat underwhelming base engine performance. Some owners have reported issues with the transmission and electrical systems. The fuel economy, while decent, isn't class-leading. It's advisable to check for these issues during a pre-purchase inspection.

Final Verdict: Is the 2021 Jeep Renegade a Good Sport Utility Vehicle?

I have a 2021 Jeep renegade that I bought in NovemberI have a 2021 Jeep renegade that I bought in November 2023 for $24,000 and change. It had 4400 miles on it. Of course, at first, I loved it. The auto four-wheel-drive, the big screen navigation /stereo system. the fact that the back seats lay down. If you take the headrests off, they lay flat. Then I drove it for awhile and here is the lists of ‘add ons' it should have. 1)The door pockets up front are just to small. 2) The center arm rest console could be bigger. 3) The dash is too deep. Jeeps dash should be shorter, like a truck. 4) The seats should have seat warmers (even my old Nissan Juke had seat warmers) 5) The hatchback has no interior light so in the dark, you need a flashlight to look for things, remove groceries etc. 6) There is space for a spare tire but since this edition came with ‘flat free' tires (idk the actual name for them) that space could have been made larger for storage. 7) When the back seats are up, the storage behind them is very small and limited. I realize this is a smaller SUV but I expected a larger space back there. 8) I have almost 14,000 Miles on it now as of 7/27/2024. I do feel the transmission either slip or shift sometimes. 9) It took me over a month to learn that if the car is cold, it will not start unless your seat belt is buckled. That's a fact. 10) It handled the very very well in the devastating ice storm that payed a 1/2 inch layer all over the Pacific Northwest last winter. That auto 4 wheel drive truly works! 11) I had to buy seat belt extensions for the back seats as It was difficult to engage the seat belts into the locking belt.. It sits deep into the seat and I have grandchildren who like to lock thier own belts in. They can be found for sale at most Auto Stores for around $20 each. I recommend you get them. That's about it. Overall, I love my Jeep Renegade. I think the price is very high considering the items missing but overall, I am going this will last me a good 10-20 yrs…

I would not recommend this vehicleMy vehicle turned out to be a lemon. The dealership chapman dodge, did not help with the issues. Had to have 3 web upgrades in the first year. At one point my keys were locked in the car. Transmission slips, the sunroof has issues, the lane assist is not consistent, the reverse warning does not work.

Very reliable and comfortable!!I've bought 3 renegades,2019,2020 and currently have 2021, 70k miles on all 3 before trading in for another and never had any problems. Didn't need to do brakes or tires at 70k! Very reliable . Love it!

Worst Car I've Ever OwnedMy wife and I bought a 2019 Jeep Renegade. It is the first vehicle either of us have ever purchased brand new and it is an absolute piece of trash. The thing is practically made from blind spots, the engine performance and gas mileage are pretty awful for a vehicle manufactured during the second decade of the 21st century, the 4-wheel drive is unreliable, and it is already starting to have serious mechanical issues (in spite of regular maintenance). If I were one of the engineers behind the Jeep Renegade, I would be embarrassed to put it on my resume.

good subcompact suvI have had my Renegade for a year now and have had no problems, I knew when I bought it that it is no muscle car but I don't mind. I love the outward visibility and the ease of parking. I haven't taken it off road and don't for sure know if I will but it has handled snow fairly well.

Don't do it !I bought a 2021 Jeep Renegade Sport, nothing but problems, leaking head gasket, cracked windshield washer resivor, and wouldn't you know it both parts are on back order so who knows when or if they will ever come in, very slow acceleration, no power for sure, I don't think I will ever have another one, I have no idea how there are so many 5 star ratings for Renegades, cause they most definitely aren't even a 2 star vehicle, not at all reliable, definitely has a lot of problems, the engineers need to rethink this vehicle. Back to the drawing board folks!

Great CarThis is my second Jeep Renegade, I love it, it runs very well. The only thing I did not like it from my second Jeep was the odor of the new material. I had a headache from breathing that odor for a week. It gets better now. I recommend to everybody this Jeep Renegade.

Danger!'nnI've had numerous issues. Most dangerous was this past weekend. My 2021 anniversary edition stopped completely on a major highway. I will ride in one again.

Good little small suvGood solid vehicle, comfortable ride, good amount of room up front, handles well, good power from turbo. Dislike mileage average 17 miles to the gal. side pillars are in awkward place. Great in snow. I recommend. There are better designed suvs, this is quirky enough to stand out.
