What Problems Does the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Have?

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica has seen some frequently reported problems. Common issues often involve the Uconnect infotainment system, with users reporting glitches, slow response times, and occasional freezing. Electrical problems, such as malfunctioning power sliding doors and issues with the vehicle's sensors, have also been noted.

Recalls for the 2021 Pacifica have addressed concerns ranging from potential engine stalling due to software issues to problems with the side curtain airbags. Owners should check the NHTSA website for the most up-to-date recall information.

Long-term reliability can be a concern, particularly with the automatic transmission. Some owners have reported issues with rough shifting or premature wear. The hybrid model's battery life and associated electrical components are also potential long-term concerns, requiring careful monitoring and maintenance. While Chrysler has made improvements over the years, it's wise to review repair histories and consider an extended warranty for added peace of mind, especially for hybrid models.

How long will the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica last?

With regular maintenance, the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica can realistically achieve 150,000 to 200,000 miles or approximately 10-13 years of service. Consistent oil changes, timely transmission servicing, and addressing minor issues promptly are crucial for longevity.

Long-term durability weaknesses may include potential wear and tear on the Stow 'n Go seating mechanisms and potential for increased repair costs associated with the hybrid system in hybrid models as they age. Rust can be a concern in colder climates. Proper care and preventative maintenance can extend the vehicle's lifespan.

We wanted another dodge Durango, until we drove a Pacifica, we love it and would recommend to anyone, it handles better than our Mercedes or jaguar

I have 2000 miles on my new Pacifica ànd love it mechanically. No problems, except the stop - start is a pain. Other than that the U Connect hasn't worked right from the start. It will not recognize my wife's voice at all; if you try to answer an in coming çall by using the steering wheel controls, it will drop the call. The worst part is the dealer has no clue what Is wrong or how to fix it. They tell me there is no technical school to cover the U Connect. There is an opportunty for Chrysler to Improve training. I wish they would train someone to help fix mine.

A little more than we needed, but it has everything we need and then some. It should be comfortable when taking long trips. Like the SiriusXM radio.
Negative Owner Reviews
John
Needed a convenient "hauler" of people and cargo and this was configured the best all the new minivans offered. I really haven't had it long enough for a reliability rating.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica boasts a comprehensive suite of tech and safety features. The Uconnect 5 infotainment system, with a 10.1-inch touchscreen, offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Available entertainment features include a rear-seat entertainment system with dual touchscreens, Blu-ray player, and HDMI inputs.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, park assist, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

Safety is a priority, and the 2021 Pacifica earned good crash-test ratings from the IIHS, including a "Top Safety Pick+" designation when equipped with specific headlights. The NHTSA also awarded it a 5-star overall safety rating. The combination of advanced technology and robust safety features makes the 2021 Pacifica a family-friendly and secure choice.

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Prices and Market Value

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica had a starting MSRP around $35,000 when new, with higher trims reaching upwards of $55,000. As of late 2023, used market prices typically range from $25,000 to $40,000, depending on condition, mileage, and trim level. Depreciation is moderate for minivans, but the Pacifica's resale value can be affected by factors like high mileage, accident history, and the availability of newer models with updated features. The hybrid version tends to hold its value slightly better due to its fuel efficiency.

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Cost of Ownership

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica's ownership costs are generally moderate. Insurance premiums are typical for a minivan. Fuel costs can be high for the V6, but the hybrid offers significant savings. Routine maintenance is relatively affordable. However, potential repairs, especially involving the transmission or hybrid components, can be costly. Overall, the Pacifica isn't the most economical, but the hybrid version mitigates some expenses. Extended warranties can help manage long-term repair risks.

2021 Chrysler Pacifica Insurance

Insurance for a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sport Utility Vehicle with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica competes with minivans like the Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, and Kia Carnival. In terms of performance, the Pacifica's V6 is comparable, but the Sienna's standard hybrid powertrain gives it an edge in fuel economy. The Pacifica offers the unique Stow 'n Go seating, but the Odyssey is known for its refined driving experience and higher reliability ratings. The Carnival offers bold styling and a strong value proposition.

Feature-wise, the Pacifica is well-equipped, but rivals often offer similar or better technology and safety features. Regarding reliability, the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna have historically demonstrated better long-term reliability than the Pacifica. Price-wise, the Pacifica is generally competitive.

Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Sienna (for its hybrid powertrain and reliability) and the Honda Odyssey (for its driving dynamics and reputation). The Kia Carnival is a compelling new entrant offering value and style. Whether those alternatives are "better" depends on individual priorities, but they are definitely worth considering.

Final Verdict: Is the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica a Good Sport Utility Vehicle?

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica is ideal for families seeking a spacious and feature-rich minivan with available hybrid fuel efficiency. It's worth buying, especially the hybrid model, if fuel economy is a priority. However, consider a thorough inspection and vehicle history report due to potential reliability concerns. Used models offer a good value proposition, but a warranty is recommended. Higher trims like the Limited or Pinnacle offer luxurious features, but the Touring and Touring L provide a solid balance of features and price. Carefully weigh the pros and cons against the competition and your specific needs.

In dash computer is a disaster!

This my 3rd Chrysler Corp minivan. This Pacifica gets poor rating primarily due to needing multiple trips to the dealer for computer issues! Very difficult to use. Sadly dials and switches were eliminated in favor of a nasty computer requiring an engineer to operate! Trip odometer and radio are examples of driver frustrations.. Driver must stop the vehicle to make adjustments formerly made safely with switches while van is in motion.!

Electrical gremlin

This is my third Chrysler minivan in 10 years. Every single van has had electrical issues. Especially the last two with the uconnect program. Have had radios replaced more than once. Electrical gremlin everything just seems to go wrong. This is a brand new van and I am beyond frustrated. We have minivans because our family needs one so when it needs to be serviced and is not reliable, this becomes very aggravating. Drives great. Electrical issues are the huge problem. With my Chrysler town and country and now the last two pacificas. Would have been nice to have our minivan for this Christmas weekend but instead it’s in the driveway and we’re crammed in the other car because it is broken again.

Poor evaluation

Very much like the Pacifica, but the radio system is terrible. The android auto system is terrible. Would not recommend the system. Sometimes works than it doesn't. You get messages with NO explanation of the meaning nor how to manage the system. Switches betweenb audio programs w/o notic. Android Auto system is hit and miss. Like the veh except for the terrible audio system.

Dont Recomend

Uconnect system is awful, Most of the time the Bluetooth system will not work and when it does how long will it last is always on your mind. Transmission is jerkey Had a recall (I forget what it is was) and no dealership had parts or could get it in. ABS warning light comes on periodically Tailgate stopped working and after it was fix it now opens spontaneously. On the good side the ride is quite and smooth, plenty of cargo space. I would never buy a Chrysler product again, all 3 I have had have been problems

Chrysler dealers not in the know about new model

We got the new 2021 Pinnacle edition. Most dealers/sales persons did NOT know the second row of seats were not stow n go. Most of them also really did not know how to install/work with CarPlay. We had to figure out most of the stuff ourselves because they couldn’t. You tube really helped!

Minivan Nirvana

The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Limited is an amazing automobile. My wife loves it, and I find it to be more comfortable than the past three Cadillacs we have owned. It has so many features that I could never recall all of them accurately. LOTS of bells and whistles and conveniences are readily apparent while driving and/or riding! Highly recommend.
