The Good
The 2020 Passat offers a comfortable ride and spacious interior, appealing to practical buyers. Its elegant, if somewhat understated, design and smooth performance can emotionally connect with drivers. While not the sportiest, it provides reliable transportation and decent fuel efficiency for its class, making it a good value for the money.
The Bad
The 2020 Passat's weaknesses include a somewhat dated interior design and less engaging driving dynamics compared to some competitors. The engine, while adequate, lacks the excitement of rivals' offerings. Potential buyers should also be aware of reported issues with the infotainment system and some electrical components. Check for transmission smoothness during test drives.

How Does the 2020 Volkswagen Passat Compare to Other Passenger Sedan?
Reliability is a mixed bag; while the Passat is generally reliable, the Camry and Accord have historically demonstrated superior reliability records. Price-wise, the Passat is often competitively priced, offering good value for the money.
Alternatives to the Passat include the Toyota Camry, known for its reliability and resale value; the Honda Accord, praised for its driving dynamics and spacious interior; and the Mazda 6, which offers a more stylish design and engaging driving experience. Great CarI purchased my SEL from a dealership with only 13k miles. Great Value with every option you can get in a car the only thing it doesn't come with is a Heads Up Mph Display. The Fender Speakers System with Apple Car Play sounds rich. It has Wifi Bluetooth ,Heated back seats, Trunk Release by Foot, Remote Start, Rain Sensing wipers, auto dim rearview mirror. Door Entry lights auto, unlocks car automatically with a push button start. I wish the engine had more muscle. Overall so far 4.5 Stars

A Solid ValueMy 2020 Passat SE is a great car. It has a comfortable ride. The 6 speed Tiptronic (automatic) transmission shifts smoothly. Minimal wind noise in the quiet cabin. Does not have auto engine stop/start feature (thank goodness) but does have adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and rain sensing wipers. I get 31-32 mpg in town and about 36.5 mpg highway. My car insurance bill actually went down with all the safety features. I got my car for $7000 less than MSRP. Big trunk and plenty of legroom in back seat. 600+ mile range between fillups!

The 2020 PassatWhat can I say? I have reviewed previous Passats, the Arteon, and the Phaeton here. As an avid VW fan and follower, I am Not so impressed with the new Passat. VW has definitely stripped this car of the lot of good it used to have. 2017 V6 Passat SEL Premium with V6 is probably the last good year for this car. Sure the price has decreased along with the good engine. The Passat used to stand out in a crowd, now it fits right in like a rental car. I do like the exterior styling somewhat. Gas mileage is decent. This is a no frills option for straight forward transportation.

Love the PassatThis car gets great gas mileage and is comfortable. Love taking it on road trips. Just wish it had heated seats for the winter. Also wish it had a sun roof.

Very nice carThis car is very comfortable.I got the s model which has everything I need. It’s great on gas and it’s fun to drive.I traded a Lincoln MKS so while it’s no Lincoln I like the feeling in the Passat better. It’s hard to explain if you’ve never driven a German car. It’s like you’re more in control of the vehicle like you’re more grounded.Hope this helps.Plus it was a great deal with no interest.I bought it at IDE Volkswagen. I would recommend them to anyone.

LOVE ITIt is such a beautiful car not your typical Mom Car. I wanted a ladies car and that is what I got! The trunk is huge which will make me happy when shopping. Also the back seat has great leg room for my 6foot grown boys! When they ride with me!
