I have been a Chevy and GM guy my whole life, probably originating with the 66 Nova my parent owned. I have owned 4 Silverados, and a 1991 Saturn SC. This 2017 Suburban is the last GM product I will ever own. I didn’t worry too much when the coolant lines began to leak and it took 3 trips to the dealer to repair under warranty. This was when the car had less than 24,000 miles. I thought it was a good car at that time. The AC condenser went bad at 83,000 miles, and it was so common that GM extended the warranty on cars, but mine was past the extension. The last straw is the transmission, which recently overheated because a plastic part on the thermostat failed, causing the temps to rise to 280 degrees. I had the part replaced, but have been told that the temperature may have ruined the torque converter. In researching the transmission issue I discovered that these problems are so common the there are YouTube videos going over the fixes. Like the countless others before me, I will be switching to Toyota the next time I Buy a truck or SUV.

This truck is practically brand new and in excellent condition. The truck has 24k miles . This is the premier package, with leather heated seats, digital mirror display, Tv display monitors in both rear seats, and so much more.

Worst experience ever owning this 2017 suburban. Purchased car brand new! Beautiful car- then brake issues. Pushing the brakes with your entire body so you don’t hit the car infront of you was a nightmare. Brake pump had to be replaced due to recall. 79,000 miles and transmission starts acting strange on highway drive. Transmission completely shot and left us stranded on side of road on a Sunday of course. Never will buy a Chevy again. Very disappointed. Will pay extra for a Toyota or BMW/Mercedes. My 17 year old BMW has over 179,000 miles and still going strong!

Problem after problem , Gm not willing to help with a vehicle that was at the time 2 model years old . A/C issues at less then 60k , Injector issues from 60k forward mis-fire codes , known issue that would not fix.... Oil pan leak they refuse to fix and quote 2300. to fix at 65k. and lastly 94k miles Transmission Blows up lost 3rd -6th,refuse to assist with this , 6000. to fix ,. At this point we have had the vehicle 28 months still owed close to 50k on a 0.0% loan , Traded it in for a Toyota and take a 24k Negative hit on the suburban but also relieved that the problem vehicle is gone ,and the stress about what would go next is also. Would not Recommend Chevrolet to anyone ,even my enemies ,Customer care is horrible .

The look and size of the truck it great for 6 kids and I . I have owned it 2 years 2017 Chevy suburban bought new off lot , but looks can be deceiving . i have experienced a couple problems one especially major , and the others basically is bull to be happening on a new truck. Started off with rear camera not working well at night. Can’t see a thing . Picture is very gritty . I take it in they tell me it’s fine 😡. Problem not resolved ! 2nd the radio gps screen glitches and flashes won’t stop at times . That got replaced right after 1 year mark . You would think it would work great but it keeps dimming bright to dark often . My rear ac stopped working , they said the motor died . So that got replaced. 1 seat buckle stopped working and here’s the kicker ...... my BRAKES stop working properly with kids and I in car .repeatedly by the way . The brakes would get stiff not go down when pushed . Car kept moving . I would have to push on them couple times to get them to work . Chevy says break pump needed to be replaced , but can’t tell me why . About 4 months ago Chevy ( gm ) sent a letter stating these trucks ( not all ) we’re having brake issues and to bring in for service if issue is detected . I didn’t expect to be one of them . At all ! When I first bought this truck another woman told me she went through hell with hers brand new . It was a lemon .i did not really think that applied to me , I didn’t think I would go through similar Here we are . I do not recommend this truck .

Do not purchase a Chevrolet Suburban

We purchased a 2017 Suburban LT new and it is the worst purchase we have ever made. I've driven Chevrolet vehicles for most of my life and based on this experience, I will never purchase again. This is the second Suburban that we have owned and probably should have walked away after the first one had a transmission failure. But, we didn't and stayed loyal to the brand and to the dealer who happens to our cousin. We have had multiple issues with the brake system, the coolant lines have had to be replaced, the thermostat failed and now the transmission has failed with 110k miles. Dealer offered to buy it back for $10.5k. We paid ~$65k. Just a horrible experience and a terrible outcome. Bottom line is that I cannot rely on this vehicle to safely and reliably transport my family. This is such a disappointment and this marks the end of ~30 years of loyalty to a brand and to a dealer that will do nothing to help us. I hope that at least one person reads this and makes a more informed decision about this product line.

Don’t buy one!

I have been a Chevy and GM guy my whole life, probably originating with the 66 Nova my parent owned. I have owned 4 Silverados, and a 1991 Saturn SC. This 2017 Suburban is the last GM product I will ever own. I didn’t worry too much when the coolant lines began to leak and it took 3 trips to the dealer to repair under warranty. This was when the car had less than 24,000 miles. I thought it was a good car at that time. The AC condenser went bad at 83,000 miles, and it was so common that GM extended the warranty on cars, but mine was past the extension. The last straw is the transmission, which recently overheated because a plastic part on the thermostat failed, causing the temps to rise to 280 degrees. I had the part replaced, but have been told that the temperature may have ruined the torque converter. In researching the transmission issue I discovered that these problems are so common the there are YouTube videos going over the fixes. Like the countless others before me, I will be switching to Toyota the next time I Buy a truck or SUV.

Horrible for your money

Trouble with dashboard, tire censor low pressure from chrome rims, hood paint faded, and a/c is broken...has a leak!! 63,000 miles on 2017 premiere Chevy Suburban... I will never purchase an 80,000 + Vehicle.... I thought the Chevy trucks could go at least 100,000 miles...but nope!!

Huge Disappointment

We are a Chevrolet family, however have been let down with the 2017 Suburban. A/C went out, transmission went out, radio/nav system went out.....what is next. When I take it to the dealership to be fixed, all I get is these are known issues with the 2017 Suburban. If that is the case, Chevrolet needs to recall on all of those issues! Will not eve own another Chevrolet.

Worst purchase ever

We purchased a low mileage, gm certified 2017 Suburban LT . At 43,000 miles shocks all around are garbage. Got dealership to replace 2. With arguments and writing the head of the corporation. Now 7 months later, our instrument panel is blinking on and off. Poor gas mileage, back shocks still a joke. Rough idle, and hard shift on accelerating. Had to drive home 230 miles with dash flickering in and out, no radio, and no way to tell mph. At the dealership now . Driving a trax as a loaner . Junk Hare Chevrolet

I’ve had this vehicle for 4 years 2017 suburban

First year in the ac broke 3times and fully had to be replaced ! 2nd year of having vehicle the BRAKES locked up and stopped working properly . 4th year the engine motor mounts are bad . I have 55,000 miles currently into my 4th year . I can’t help but feel like they built this car like crap ! What else will go wrong . So while I’m paying monthly to own my vehicle I’ll be stuck making repairs . My Neughbor has same year in the Tahoe and had replaced her transmission and complete ax system already . Scary !

Transmission shot and left us stranded.

Worst experience ever owning this 2017 suburban. Purchased car brand new! Beautiful car- then brake issues. Pushing the brakes with your entire body so you don’t hit the car infront of you was a nightmare. Brake pump had to be replaced due to recall. 79,000 miles and transmission starts acting strange on highway drive. Transmission completely shot and left us stranded on side of road on a Sunday of course. Never will buy a Chevy again. Very disappointed. Will pay extra for a Toyota or BMW/Mercedes. My 17 year old BMW has over 179,000 miles and still going strong!

A great family car

This full size sport utility vehicle is everything that my family would need, and more! The legroom for all passengers is phenomenal. The space behind the third row is unbeatable.

Too many issues for a truck that is 3.5 years old.

Stylish, roomy, and decent value. However, the reliability is not good. Have had way too many issues so far within the past 3.5 years. Tire sensor issues, electronic issues (dashboard), etc.
