The Good
The 2015 Suburban offers a blend of practicality and comfort. Its powerful V8 engine provides confident performance for towing and hauling. Reliability is generally good, and the spacious interior offers comfortable seating and ample cargo room, appealing to families. The redesigned exterior offers a modern aesthetic. While not the most fuel-efficient, it provides good value considering its capabilities. Emotionally, it provides a sense of security and capability.
The Bad
The 2015 Suburban has some known weaknesses. The infotainment system can sometimes be laggy or unresponsive. Some owners have reported issues with the automatic transmission. Fuel economy is subpar compared to smaller SUVs. Watch out for potential oil consumption issues and ensure proper maintenance has been performed. Rust can also be a concern in northern climates, so inspect carefully.

What Problems Does the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban Have?
Recalls have been issued for various issues, including problems with the third-row seat belts, potential issues with the airbags, and possible fuel pump failures. Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the lifespan of the transmission and the potential for engine issues related to oil consumption. It's crucial to check the vehicle's history for any completed recall work and to perform regular maintenance to mitigate potential problems. Suspension components and the electrical system are other areas to monitor as the vehicle ages. Some reports also suggest issues with the Active Fuel Management (AFM) system leading to premature wear. Thorough pre-purchase inspections are highly recommended.

How Does the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Feature-wise, the Suburban offers a competitive range of tech and safety features, similar to the Yukon XL. The Expedition EL has a slightly less modern infotainment system. The Sequoia's interior feels dated in comparison.
Reliability is a mixed bag. The Toyota Sequoia generally enjoys a better reputation for long-term reliability. The Suburban and Yukon XL have similar reliability records, while the Expedition EL can be prone to some engine issues.
Price-wise, the Suburban sits in the middle of the pack.
Alternatives to consider include the Yukon XL (essentially a more luxurious Suburban) if you want a similar vehicle with slightly more upscale features. The Toyota Sequoia is a good choice if reliability is a top priority, despite its older design. The Ford Expedition EL is worth considering if you prefer a turbocharged engine and don't mind potentially lower reliability.

Final Verdict: Is the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban a Good Sport Utility Vehicle?

Avoid Chevrolet5 star reviews are a scam. They have not YET (your time is coming) experienced what these suvs are notorious for. Transmission failures. Total engine failures. These cars, certain years, are very well known for the 2 above uber expensive repairs. Chevrolet should be ashamed putting this crap on the road AND not recalling. I would LOVE to sue Chevrolet. They 100% know of these problems. New tranny will not be less than $5k. Mine was $6700. Regardless where you take it. I hate this car. Buyers remorse big time. I'll never buy another Chevy. And BTW, this is my work vehicle, I baby the engine and tranny because I know they suck and this B still left me stranded in the middle of the country with a sudden transmission failure, during a long road trip! P on Chevy, indeed.

Room for everything - comfort - reliabilityPurchased this used from a dealer - one previous owner. Vehicle was well kept, has proven to be reliable with surprisingly good highway mileage. The entertainment package silences children more effectively than a nun's shhh in church. There is ample space for people and/or cargo. The tow capacity will come in handy next.

Drives Great, but frustrating issuesPurchased new in 2015. Drives great, but paint on hood and roof started failing a year ago. Headlight assembly moisture issue. Beware if buying used.

A/C issuesFixed the AC compressor 2 years ago and have been having issues again. I spent 1200 on the compressor then. Now 2 months ago I had to replace the Schrader valve ($250). Now issues again and they can't figure it out. Seems like a common issue now that I look it up. My vehicle currently has 53k miles Another issue is the middle row TV stopped working like 2 years ago. Not sure why.

Spacious and reliable vehicleThis vehicle provides a family with lots of room and comfort. With having five kids we needed a bigger vehicle that’s had trunk space and this vehicle provided these things plus leather that keeps clean and a dvd system for entertainment on trips! Definitely will own another one! If you are looking for a family vehicle that gets good gas mileage this is your best option!
