What Problems Does the 2006 Toyota Sienna Have?
Sliding door malfunctions, especially with the power sliding doors, are also commonly reported. This can involve the doors not opening or closing properly, or making unusual noises. The power door motor or related components may need replacement.
Rust can be a concern, particularly in areas with harsh winters and road salt. Inspect the undercarriage, wheel wells, and body panels for rust before purchasing. Corrosion can weaken structural components and require costly repairs.
While the 2006 Sienna generally has good reliability, some owners have reported issues with the air conditioning system, specifically with the rear AC. This can manifest as weak airflow or failure to cool properly. Some recalls may have been issued for the 2006 Sienna, so it's essential to check the NHTSA website for any open recalls related to your VIN.
How long will the 2006 Toyota Sienna last?
Long-term durability concerns include potential rust, as mentioned previously. Additionally, the suspension components, such as struts and bushings, may require replacement over time. The power sliding door mechanisms can also become problematic with age and frequent use. However, the engine and transmission are generally considered robust if maintained well.

How Does the 2006 Toyota Sienna Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Features-wise, the Sienna had similar options to its rivals, including available DVD entertainment systems and power sliding doors. However, Chrysler often offered more innovative seating configurations.
Price-wise, the Sienna was generally competitive. Used prices today reflect their age, but the Sienna often holds its value slightly better than the Chrysler minivans due to its reputation for reliability.
Alternatives to the 2006 Sienna include the Honda Odyssey, which offers similar reliability and features. The Kia Sedona is another option to consider, often available at a lower price point, but may not be as reliable. If reliability is a top priority, the Sienna or Odyssey are generally better choices than the Chrysler minivans.

2006 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD van 3.3 litre V6 long wThe 3.3 liter V6 is under powered especially if you carry six passengers. Had to replace a catalytic converter at 132,000 miles code po420 bank 2. a disappointment. The engine is basically a Camry engine. Toyota should of put a larger displacement engine in this van.

Suited for our needsSo far the van has been efficient, comfortable, and running well. Glad to have the ability to transport a wheelchair and handicapped person and all the supplies needed.

First Sienna with AWD (3 others FWD)This is my fourth Sienna ( I have 2006 limited AWD and 2008 LE FWD) Two dislikes: RFT wears fast and expensive to replace ($199) and I am switching to 16 inch rim ( 225 65 16 ) Regular tires same height as the 17 rims. (AWD) The Automatic sliding doors breakage all 4 Siennas ( in CT have them repair at an auto body repair shop. Much cheaper ($750 vs $2200). (All).

So Far So Good - No Issues and Nice VehicleI really like this vehicle for the space and comfort. I also has some nice interior features. I have only owned it for a short while, but so far so good.

I own two of them.Long wheelbase gives it a comfortable ride. It is quiet and great for long trips. I used to own Caravans but the Sienna is quieter and more fun to drive. The cost to own is great because of trade in value and high mile reliability. We drove to California and Arizona from Maine six times and no issues. They both have over 100,000 miles on them.

Awesome van in Minnesota, all wheel drive rocks!Very reliable for the age and price point, thank you Toyota. This van is a beast in snow, 15 inches in a blizzard, no problem. Long wheelbase, handles cornering and ice great as well. This vehicle is fully loaded with AWD, rear DVD video, heated leather, sunroof and the entire family from mom and dad to the kiddos will enjoy it.

Reliable, excellent comfort, ~20 mpg, great spaceAs a tall person, I appreciate having the space I need for my legs to be comfortable. I have had very few issues over the ~130k miles. I have every reason to believe with regular maintenance, it will go another 130k miles. Pretty good space to assist in moving, vacation baggage, home and gardening projects.

First AWD SiennaThe car is perfect. It was well kept by the previous owner. I owned or still own 5 Siennas. This one is a Limited model loaded with leather sun roof etc. all my other Sienna were LE. The only thing I need to get use to are the run flat tires and driving without a spare. M getting there.

Best vehicle we have ever had!We purchased this van new. Only maintenance done is usual stuff, like tires, oil change, brakes, ac motor fan, filters, etc. This van has 185 thousand and still runs like the day we bought it.
