The 2007 Toyota Sienna is a minivan, a segment Toyota has consistently dominated. Part of the second generation (2004-2010), it offers seating for up to eight passengers. Key trims include CE, LE, XLE, and Limited. Known for its reliability and spaciousness, the Sienna provides a comfortable ride and ample cargo space. Pricing for a used 2007 Sienna generally ranges from $4,000 to $10,000 depending on condition and mileage. It stands out for its available all-wheel drive, a rarity in minivans.
The Good

The 2007 Toyota Sienna boasts impressive reliability and a comfortable ride, making it a practical choice. Its spacious interior provides ample room for families. The powerful V6 engine delivers confident performance. For emotional buyers, the Sienna offers peace of mind knowing it's a dependable vehicle with a good reputation. It holds its value well, adding to its appeal.

The Bad

Potential weaknesses of the 2007 Toyota Sienna include potential oil consumption in higher-mileage engines. Sliding door issues, particularly with the power door mechanism, can occur. What Problems Does the 2007 Toyota Sienna Have?

The 2007 Toyota Sienna, while generally reliable, has some frequently reported problems. A common concern involves excessive oil consumption, particularly in higher-mileage vehicles. This isn't necessarily specific to the 2007 model year but is a known issue with the 2GR-FE engine over time. Power sliding door malfunctions are also a frequent complaint, often requiring costly repairs to the motor or cable mechanism. Some owners have reported issues with the air conditioning system, including compressor failure or refrigerant leaks. Rust, especially in areas with harsh winters, can be a long-term concern.

Recalls for the 2007 Sienna have included issues related to the spare tire carrier potentially corroding and detaching, as well as concerns about the power windows potentially causing a fire hazard. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN on the NHTSA website to ensure all applicable recalls have been addressed. Long-term reliability is generally good, but regular maintenance is key to preventing major issues. Pay close attention to fluid levels, especially engine oil, and address any unusual noises or warning lights promptly.

How long will the 2007 Toyota Sienna last?

With good maintenance, a 2007 Toyota Sienna can easily reach 200,000 miles or more. Many owners report exceeding this milestone. Years of service can range from 15 to 20 years if properly cared for. Long-term durability is a strong point, but weaknesses include potential oil consumption as the engine ages and potential issues with the power sliding doors. Regular oil changes, transmission fluid flushes, and addressing minor repairs promptly are crucial for maximizing the Sienna's lifespan. Rust prevention is also essential, especially in colder climates. Keeping up with these items will contribute to long-term reliability.

I bought my 2007 Sienna new and have over 220,000 miles on it (mostly highway driving) and she is still running like a champ. Now with the new prices on cars, I am planning on running her until she is well over 300,000 miles! She has a few items showing her age, but not going to give up on her!

Well maintained by single owner for 13 years. Beautiful interior. Low mileage: 78,000 on the odometer. Loaded with extras like sunroof, heated seats (great for Portland's climate) and much more.

I’ve owned this car since 2007 and it’s been an incredibly reliable and comfortable vehicle. Great for long trips with kids, grandparents, and friends. Tons of room, quiet interior, smooth driving.
Negative Owner Reviews
MarkATL
This car is so slow and it?s so basic. Buying the CE model this car has no tech and it?s only infotainment feature (a radio) sounds awful. The engine is underpowered and it?s hard to merge onto the highway without having to really put your foot in the peddle. It?s rides so bad and the car gets about 22 mpg and that?s awful for a minivan. It also has had many check engine lights and problems with the rear doors. The interior is drenched in plastic and everything feels, looks, and is cheap. I hate this car so much and everyone hates to see a minivan so it?s not just me. I recommend a Tahoe or explorer and if you just get a minivan get a Chrysler Pacifica.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

The 2007 Toyota Sienna offers a reasonable set of tech and safety features for its time. Base models (CE) come with a basic CD player and air conditioning. Higher trims (LE, XLE, Limited) add features like cruise control, upgraded audio systems, power sliding doors, and leather upholstery. Entertainment options include a DVD entertainment system for rear passengers (optional on some trims). Driver-assistance features are limited compared to modern vehicles, but include anti-lock brakes (ABS) and traction control.

Safety features include front airbags, side airbags, and available side curtain airbags. Optional features included vehicle stability control (VSC) on higher trims. Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) are generally good, with the Sienna earning high scores in frontal and side-impact crash tests. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) also gave the Sienna good ratings for frontal offset crash tests. Keep in mind that safety technology has advanced significantly since 2007, so while the Sienna was safe for its time, newer vehicles offer more advanced safety systems. Features like blind-spot monitoring and lane-departure warning were not available on this model. A backup camera was also not available.

2007 Toyota Sienna Prices and Market Value

When new, the 2007 Toyota Sienna had an MSRP ranging from around $24,000 for the base CE model to over $37,000 for a fully loaded Limited trim. Currently, used market prices typically range from $4,000 to $10,000, depending on condition, mileage, and trim level. The Sienna has depreciated significantly, but its reputation for reliability helps it retain some value. Factors affecting resale value include the vehicle's condition, mileage, service history, and geographic location. Siennas in excellent condition with low mileage and a clean title will command higher prices. Rust-free examples are also highly sought after.

2007 Toyota Sienna Cost of Ownership

The 2007 Toyota Sienna is generally considered economical to own. Insurance costs are typically moderate. Fuel economy is decent for a minivan. Maintenance costs are reasonable, with readily available parts and a large service network. While repairs can be more expensive, Toyota's reliability helps minimize the frequency of major issues. Long-term ownership costs are manageable, especially if preventive maintenance is followed. Budgeting for potential oil consumption issues in higher mileage vehicles is advisable. Overall, the Sienna is a relatively cost-effective choice for families.

2007 Toyota Sienna Insurance

Insurance for a 2007 Toyota Sienna is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sport Utility Vehicle Van with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2007 Toyota Sienna Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle Van?

The 2007 Toyota Sienna competed with minivans like the Honda Odyssey, Chrysler Town & Country, and Dodge Grand Caravan. In terms of reliability, the Sienna and Odyssey are generally considered to be at the top of the class. The Chrysler and Dodge minivans often offer more features for the price but can suffer from lower reliability ratings. Performance-wise, the Sienna's V6 engine is competitive with the Odyssey's. Feature-wise, the Chrysler Town & Country may offer more bells and whistles, like Stow 'n Go seating, but the Sienna's interior is comfortable and functional.

Price-wise, used Siennas and Odysseys tend to hold their value better than Chrysler/Dodge minivans. If reliability is a top priority, the Sienna or Odyssey are strong choices. The Sienna's available all-wheel drive gives it an edge over the Odyssey in certain climates. A similar alternative would be the Honda Odyssey, which offers comparable reliability and a comfortable ride. The Nissan Quest is another alternative but generally has a less favorable reputation for reliability. Overall, the Sienna stands out for its balanced combination of reliability, comfort, and available AWD, making it a strong contender in its class.

Ranks #146 SUV

Final Verdict: Is the 2007 Toyota Sienna a Good Sport Utility Vehicle Van?

The 2007 Toyota Sienna is an ideal choice for families seeking a reliable and spacious minivan. It's worth buying used, particularly if you prioritize dependability and longevity. The XLE trim offers a good balance of features and value. Look for models with well-documented maintenance records and consider having a pre-purchase inspection to assess potential issues like oil consumption or sliding door problems. Avoid examples with excessive rust. While not the flashiest or most feature-rich minivan, the 2007 Sienna provides a practical and dependable transportation solution for families on a budget, and is a solid choice if reliability is your top priority.

Wish I hadn’t bought

I wish I had had this car inspected by a good mechanic immediately after buying. The tire pressure gauge is on & needs to be fixed, the rear suspension struts are cracked, car needs both front & rear brakes & it is leaking power steering fluid. Wasn’t a good buy from Epic Motorsports
