How Does the 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 Compare to Other Pickup Truck?
Reliability is a mixed bag. The Ford F-150 is generally considered slightly more reliable, while the Toyota Tundra often tops the reliability charts. The Dodge Ram 1500 can have its own set of issues, similar to the Sierra. Price-wise, the Sierra is usually in the same ballpark as the F-150 and Ram, while the Tundra tends to command a slightly higher premium.
Alternatives to the 2009 GMC Sierra 1500 include the 2009 Ford F-150, which offers a wide range of configurations and a solid reputation, or the 2009 Toyota Tundra, known for its exceptional reliability. If reliability is a top priority, the Tundra might be a better choice, but if a good balance of features, performance, and price is desired, the Sierra remains a competitive option.

Looked out5.3 flex fuel ownersMy gmc sierra 5.3 flex fuel has now gone thru 2 engines 1 at 99,000 miles out of warranty and the other at 170,000 miles. The afm lifters bent and the cams went crooked. No Help from Gm except if the ever recall those engines they will help with some of the cost.I am in for about 9,000 dollars. The Cadillac Northstars had the same issuse and was never recalled.

Dont purchase!Beautiful looking truck. Afm is a disaster!. Was using quart of oil every short trip. (500klm.)These issues are commom. Had valve job done 1 month after purchasing from a dealer. Did not fix issue. New head gasket. Had to purchase Afm delete which fixed oil issue. Now a lifter may be stuck. Has low k for the year. Pure garbage.

The gmc sierra that I own , I bought brand new andI bought my gmc sierra in 2009 , brand new, and it’s the best truck that I have ever owned, and I have tried a lot of nice trucks, I mean i have owned a truck, Ford used to be my favorite , but it doesn’t even stand a chance up next to a gmc sierra like mine, my brother in-laws were very jealous about me owning it, my brothers all liked it, I have had a lot of pleasure driving my truck, and I have had very little problems with it, I’m retired now or i would buy another one just like it, gmc is the premier truck, it’s the very best, i love my truck.

Not the best ourchaseToo much rust , faulty transmission , lack of power , lack of holding value , parts are easily breakable , truck has power , could be made more luxury , truck has lots of creeks and squeaks , the bodymetal is cheap.

Most reliable truck i’ve ever ownedPlenty of space and the 5.3L V8 is one of the best motors i’ve ever had in a truck. Never broken down or left me stranded.

200000 Plus and Still going. This is the longest lasting vehicle I have ever owned. I had a few problems with the suspension, but that was from wear at tear. Also the window switches have been cleaned out so they can work properly. Other than that, best investmeant i ever made.

Great truckLove it was the best vehicle choice I’ve made since I started driving about 20 years ago. I would definitely recommend the truck to a friend or even a random person I mean it

Power and comfort featuresI chose the crew and SLT 6.0L with all bells and whistles. Has the Z71 and All Terrian package. Leather heated seats are very comfortable and touch screen navigation with 6 disc Bose system sounds great for stock set up. I now have 200,000 miles and have never had any issues with engine or transmission. Still runs and shifts as new. 10,000+ towing capacity with integrated trailer breaks work very well while towing 27 foot TV weighing 8,000 pounds loaded. The interior quality is very upscale SUV and has plenty of room for family of 5. Would highly recommend paying extra for GMC quality over Dodge/Ford. The fuel economy isnt great but you have to pay to play
