The Good
The 2015 Jeep Compass offers Jeep's rugged styling and available 4x4 capability, appealing to the adventurous spirit. Practically, it provides a relatively affordable entry point into the Jeep brand. While not a performance leader, the Compass provides adequate transportation and some models offer improved fuel economy. The higher trims offer enhanced comfort features.
The Bad
The 2015 Jeep Compass is known for its somewhat underwhelming engine performance, particularly with the base engine. Reliability can be a concern, with reports of transmission issues and electrical problems. The interior materials are often criticized for feeling cheap. Potential buyers should carefully inspect the vehicle's maintenance history and consider a pre-purchase inspection.

What Problems Does the 2015 Jeep Compass Have?
Recalls for the 2015 Compass have included issues related to airbags and potential fuel leaks. It is vital to check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) to determine if all applicable recalls have been addressed. Long-term reliability can be a concern due to these potential issues. Routine maintenance is crucial, but even with diligent care, some of these problems may still arise. Potential buyers should be aware of these common issues and factor them into their decision-making process, potentially seeking a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic to assess the vehicle's overall condition.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety features include standard front airbags, side curtain airbags, and traction control. The NHTSA gave the 2015 Jeep Compass an overall safety rating of four out of five stars. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) ratings vary depending on the specific test, with some tests showing marginal or acceptable performance. Overall, the tech and safety features are relatively basic compared to newer vehicles. More advanced driver-assistance systems like blind-spot monitoring or lane departure warning were not available on this model year. The available rearview camera helps when parking or reversing, but its resolution may be limited compared to modern systems. The higher trims offer a slightly better audio experience, but overall, the tech is dated.

How Does the 2015 Jeep Compass Compare to Other Sport Utility Vehicle?
Reliability is a significant concern for the Compass, with the CR-V, RAV4, and Forester consistently ranking higher in reliability surveys. The Mazda CX-5 offers a more sporty driving experience and a more upscale interior. While the Compass may be more affordable than some of these rivals on the used market, the potential for higher repair costs can offset the initial savings. Better alternatives include the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Mazda CX-5, all of which offer superior reliability, performance, and features. The Subaru Forester provides similar off-road capability with better overall reliability.

Great Daily DriverThis car is great for somebody looking for a daily commuter, but is also looking to benefit from a little extra storage room. It is the economy option if you are looking for a jeep. It has a little extra ground clearance and a wheel base that will allow you to get out of town on a weekend camping or fishing trip, but your greater benefit is in the economy. It been a reliable option for me for the past 5 years.

My favorite vehicle so far! It's comfortable, has nice computer features with a back up camera. Only thing I didn't like was small drink holders but that's easy to fix with a car accessory. Love it!

Keep CompasWe went to purchase a small economical car for our daughter who was getting her first car. She test drove the Jeep after insisting on not wanting an SUV and she fell in love with it. After test driving other cars she liked the way the Jeep drove.
