What Problems Does the 2002 Toyota Camry Have?

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
The XLE trim offered optional side airbags. The 2002 Camry received generally good crash-test ratings from the IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) and NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). However, safety standards have significantly advanced since then. Keep in mind that modern vehicles offer far superior safety technology.
The focus of the 2002 Camry was more on reliability and practicality than cutting-edge technology. Entertainment options were limited compared to modern cars, but adequate for the era. Safety features, while present, were not as comprehensive as what is available today. Optional features such as upgraded audio systems were trim-dependent. No driver-assistance technologies were available for this model year.

How Does the 2002 Toyota Camry Compare to Other Sedan?
Feature-wise, the Camry's standard equipment was comparable to its rivals, with similar options available on higher trims. Price-wise, the Camry was competitive. The Honda Accord is a very similar and comparable alternative to the Toyota Camry, offering similar reliability and features.
If you prioritize sportier handling, the Mazda 626 might be a better choice. However, for overall reliability, practicality, and resale value, the 2002 Toyota Camry holds its own against the competition, with the Accord as a close second. The Camry is often a safer bet for long-term dependability. The Taurus is not a good alternative because of the unreliability of the car.

Best Little Gem EVER♡Bought my 2002 Toyota Camry brand new and 21 years later it's still AMAZING!! I have looked at new cars and I can't get myself to let go of this little miracle car I already own! I have kept up the scheduled maintenance plan and I have never (not even once) had any problems at all! Seven years ago had it repainted to factory color because it was fading. I may do that again since the paint job only lasted 7 years before I buy new. The inside is perfect! I love this little gem! ♡

TOYOTA Camry 2002I was impressed by the condition … 65k miles on the car. This model is an excellent car . I was blessed to have such a great car and awesome value .

Reliable, comfortable, no dramaI've owned this car for 6 years, when I got it, this was still in amazing condition. I've been using it as a delivery car and it is still in great condition. I love the reliability, I hear about so many recalls and problems with new cars these days that I dread buying a new one. Some features I like: if your key is in the ignition you can't accidentally lock yourself out. The quiet beep noise it makes with the remote lock. The speaker system is decent. I'm sure I'm forgetting other great features, but overall it is average with everything else like gas mileage and interior design.

My dad is 90 years oldHis 2002 Toyota Camry LE has only 43, 500 miles on it. Despite no garage or Carport, there is no rust. The leather interior is far superior to my BMW. It purrs like a kitten!

Inexpensive comfortable family transportationMeets all my needs, fuel economy cold be better, but for an old car with a durable 4 speed automatic I’ll take it. Very comfortable, with a good ride. The car handles very well for one with a softer ride.

This is the most reliable and perfect car I had.I loved this car so much. I wish I don’t have to sell it because the performance is great but there are brakes issues since there is a lot of usage from a long time.
