The 2019 Toyota Camry represents the eighth generation of this popular mid-size sedan. Known for its reliability and practicality, the Camry has been a best-seller for years. The 2019 model comes in various trims, including the L, LE, SE, XLE, and XSE. Its price range typically falls between $24,000 to $35,000, depending on the trim and options. While generally reliable, the 2019 Camry's base engine can feel underpowered for some drivers. The infotainment system, while functional, isn't the most intuitive. Some users have reported wind noise at highway speeds. The rear seat headroom may be tight for taller passengers.

What Problems Does the 2019 Toyota Camry Have?

The 2019 Toyota Camry is generally considered reliable, but some common issues have been reported. Some owners have experienced issues with the automatic transmission, including rough shifting or hesitation. Others have noted issues with the infotainment system freezing or malfunctioning. There have been some reports of paint chipping prematurely, although this isn't widespread.

Recalls for the 2019 Camry have included issues related to the fuel pump which could cause the engine to stall, increasing the risk of a crash. Check the NHTSA website for the latest recall information.

Long-term reliability concerns are relatively minimal. However, regular maintenance, including oil changes and transmission fluid checks, is crucial to maintaining the Camry's reliability over time. Some owners recommend checking the condition of the battery and tires regularly. Ensure that any recall-related repairs have been performed to prevent potential problems.

How long will the 2019 Toyota Camry last?

With proper maintenance, a 2019 Toyota Camry can easily reach 200,000 miles or more. Many owners report 15-20 years of service. The Camry's engine and transmission are known for their durability. However, neglecting routine maintenance, such as oil changes, can shorten its lifespan. Weaknesses over time might include wear and tear on suspension components, potential infotainment system issues, and possible rust in regions with harsh winters. Regular inspections and timely repairs are key to maximizing the Camry's longevity.

Sahara was very helpful in assisting me in purchasing this car! Not only did she make the process easy for me but she was also mindful of my budget and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so so much!! I’m very satisfied with my new car and the service she provided🥰

This is the "standard" of a PERFECT vehicle ! Size wise, very economical, comfortable, extremely reliable and trustworthy. Everything you need, sturdy, but comfortable ride - you won't regret the investment.
Dan
Purchased the vehicle at the end of 2021! It was used with 65000 miles on it and looked brand new! Everyone I show it to thinks it is a 2022! I simply love the car in every way except one! The sound system is not as good as I had hoped but most people will probably find it sufficient. Slight hesitation before accelerating that is a little troubling but once it gets moving it is quick enough for me! Well built easy to operate and even the electronics are not overbearing. Good value for the money

Susan
When they put wax to my car per "Protect All," they put wax too much. When they removed the too much waxt, they detached paint also. When they repainted the paint-detached-spot, they put the fake paint. When the removed the wax from the too-much-wax spot, they created scratches and they created bubbles. When customer asked to repaint the no-paint spot, they put the fake paint. When customer asked removing the bubbles, they told that the car has to move back to Japan to remove the bubbles with very serious faces. Still when customer asked removing the bubbles, they told that it might put more damages to the car when they try to remove the bubbles; therefore, they was not able to remove the bubbles; therefore, customer has to pay out of customer's pocket to remove the bubbles. Customer found out that there are many bodyshops that are able to remove bubbles anywhere in the USA; therefore, the car does not need to move back to Japan to remove bubbles. Although they were supposed to contact by the specific date per the Toyota headquarter's case request, nobody contacted customer. Therefore, customer dialed to contact by phone device, nobody answered the phone call and customer had to leave voice messages; however, still nobody gave any return call. When customer asked to meet with manager of the dealer store, a person who is working for the manager told customer that the customer was not allowed to meet with the manager; therefore, the customer was driving the car to get out of the parking lot of the Dayton Toyota's dealer. At that time the same person followed the car and told the customer that the customer was allowed to meet with the manager. The same person told customer that Toyota would not repair the damages that Toyota made, which meant that customer had to pay money to repair the car for Toyota. For the other department, not sales department, Toyota never returned to phone to talk over the phone for more than 20 minutes; therefore, the customer had to wait for more than 20 minutes on the phone until the customer arrived the Toyota parking lot and entered the building. The customer left the customer house to enter the Toyota building by driving a car because Toyota had not returned to the phone call at all. That's why the customer had to drive a car to enter the Toyota building from the customer's house. Therefore, the customer enjoyed listening the music for more than 20 minutes while driving a car to enter the Toyota building to talk personally.

it’s very difficult to gain speed after stopping sometimes with the engine turned off at the back of the car I hear some kind of electric sound 5-8 minutes 3000 miles a very big difference with our former Camry 2004. if I knew about this before I would buy something else I don’t advise

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?

Optional features include blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, a panoramic sunroof, and a JBL premium audio system. Higher trims like the XLE and XSE offer features like leather upholstery, a larger touchscreen display, and a head-up display.

2019 Toyota Camry Insurance

Insurance for a 2019 Toyota Camry is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sedan with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2019 Toyota Camry Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2019 Toyota Camry competes with the Honda Accord, Nissan Altima, Mazda 6, and Hyundai Sonata. In terms of reliability, the Camry is generally considered to be on par with or slightly better than the Accord. The Accord may offer a slightly more engaging driving experience. The Altima offers available all-wheel drive, a feature the Camry lacks. The Mazda 6 is known for its stylish design and sporty handling, but its reliability may not be as strong as the Camry's. The Sonata offers a strong value proposition with a long warranty.

Regarding features, the Camry offers a good balance of standard and available technology. Price-wise, it's competitive within its class.

Alternatives to the Camry include the Honda Accord for a more engaging driving experience, and the Hyundai Sonata for a longer warranty and value. However, for overall reliability and resale value, the Camry remains a top contender. The Mazda 6 could be considered for those prioritizing sporty styling and handling at the expense of some reliability.

Excellent daily driver

I bought my ‘19 Camry SE used with less than 10k miles and I’ve just passed the 50k mile mark. My ownership experience has been very positive. You can’t go wrong with this as your daily driver as it has great fuel efficiency, enough power and is a comfortable ride. Highly recommend!

Best car I've ever owned

I bought my 2019 Camry in March 2021, and it's the best car I've owned. Its an extremely smooth ride, and it delivers the performance you'd expect from 203-hp 4 cylinder engine. Extremely fuel efficient, and more than reliable. Would recommend to anyone looking for a car.

Gas cover will not open.

We bought our 2019 Toyota Camry in January 2021. The gas cover will not open on its own when pushing the gas cover release button. Very aggrevating when there's no one else in the car to ask to push the button.

The best car to own!

The best car to own to this day! it’s really reliable and saves on gas. Although I will say the interior quality is not the best and the first year of owning the car was a nightmare, it’s still a great car overall! ever since then, the car has never gave me any problems! definitely will recommend to get this car if you’re looking for a comfortable daily car since the base models come with standard safety sense!

Love it to death

Bought a 2019 Camry XSE. CPO. Low mileage lease vehicle. Love the refinement, styling. The I4 has 28 more horsepower than my 13 Camry SE. Better gas mileage thanks to the 8 speed automatic. Toyota hit it out of the ballpark with the 2018 redesign. So glad I got this car!
