The Good
The 2017 Toyota Corolla excels in reliability and fuel efficiency, appealing to practical buyers. Its comfortable ride and reputation for longevity offer peace of mind. While not a performance car, its dependability and value make it an appealing choice for budget-conscious individuals. The redesigned exterior offers a modern aesthetic, attracting emotionally driven buyers seeking a stylish, yet sensible, vehicle.
The Bad
The 2017 Corolla's weaknesses include somewhat uninspired handling and acceleration compared to rivals. The CVT transmission, while efficient, can feel sluggish at times. What Problems Does the 2017 Toyota Corolla Have?
Recalls for the 2017 Corolla were issued for potential issues related to the airbag system and fuel pump. The Takata airbag recall affected many vehicles across various manufacturers, and the Corolla was included. The fuel pump recall addressed a potential failure that could cause the engine to stall. It's crucial to verify that any applicable recalls have been addressed by a Toyota dealer before purchasing a used 2017 Corolla. Long-term reliability is generally excellent, but regular maintenance, including timely oil changes and fluid checks, is essential to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Rust is generally not a significant concern, but inspecting the undercarriage for signs of corrosion, especially in regions with harsh winters, is recommended.

How Does the 2017 Toyota Corolla Compare to Other Sedan?
In terms of price, the Corolla is competitive, often slightly more affordable than the Civic but potentially more expensive than the Elantra or Forte. For buyers prioritizing reliability and longevity, the Corolla and Civic are excellent choices. If driving enjoyment is a priority, the Mazda3 is a better alternative. For those seeking maximum features for the money, the Elantra or Forte might be more appealing. A similar alternative would be the Honda Civic; a "better" choice depends entirely on individual priorities. The Mazda3 may also be considered a better option for those wanting a more engaging driving experience.

2017 Toyota Corolla LEWhen looking for a car to utilize in my job as a delivery driver I knew this would be a good choice. These cars are long-lasting and reliable for many years and miles. The safety package on this model is amazing. The safety ratings are impressive and let's not forget the 34mpg that this model gets ... would highly recommend if your looking for a reliable and economical mode of transportation.

Unreliable, slow, and dangerous!I would not ever begin to wish this car on my worst enemy. The steering, I’ve noticed, has been described as “lacklusterâ€. I would say its downright unreliable because I had to have the steering corrected on this car twice before it ever reached its first oil change. In addition, the pre-collision avoidance system almost killed me on more than 3 occasions, once almost turning me into mush in between two semi-trucks. The system will randomly recognize just anything as a potential collision and will lock up all the brakes with no warning. Another issue I’ve had with this car is erratic transmission activity in cruise control, with the rpms shooting into redline territory on any kind of downhill grade. This is another problem Toyota could not themselves fix. I also came to learn that the speedometer was off by 4mph out of the factory. This car has lived in the shop between steering problems, collision avoidance problems, and transmission problems, I would urge anyone and everyone to stay away from this car.

Worst car I’ve ever owned2017 with 42,000 miles and the car stalls out almost when in drive at a red light. The rpm goes up and down and the car shakes. Also the cruise control is a joke you can’t even go down a hill without it revving to 5k rpm
