The Good
The 2014 Impala offers a compelling blend of attributes. Practically, it boasts a spacious interior, good fuel economy for its size, and a reputation for reasonable reliability. Emotionally, its sleek design and comfortable ride provide a sense of luxury and sophistication. The strong V6 engine delivers confident acceleration, appealing to drivers seeking enjoyable performance. It's a good value for a large sedan, striking a balance between affordability and features.
The Bad
While generally reliable, the 2014 Impala has some potential weaknesses. Some owners have reported issues with the MyLink infotainment system, including glitches and slow response times. The rear visibility can be limited due to the car's design. Early model year 2014 cars also had some reports of transmission issues, although these seem to be less common after initial production runs. Check for proper electronic functionality and smooth shifting during a test drive.

Regular maintenance, including fluid changes and inspections, is crucial to mitigating these risks. The 2014 model year's electrical systems should be closely monitored for any malfunctions.

Final Verdict: Is the 2014 Chevrolet Impala a Good Sedan?

Bought new in January 2014.Bought new in January 2014. So far it's been a reliable car. It's been back to the shop twice in almost 11 years for a leaking transmission line & a emission issue. Other than two recalls it's been good. Of course, I'm only at 67,676 miles. Oh, I forgot I had to replace the front two struts. When it was wet outside while turning I would get some vibration. Dealer had a TSB on it, the cost was 1,500 dollars. But overall the car has been fairly reliable. It's been quiet, roomy, comfortable and has decent power.

stability track problemsThis is a great car but after 3 years I started having problems with the stability track, I would standing still at a light or making a turn and it would stall and even loose power, this is very frightening, I took it to the dealer who charged with $2000 to fix it and less that one year it is doing it again

2014 Impalas suckI have problems with electrical system, brake light, blinker, parking lights and taillight, stops while driving, braking pads, brake lights flash when driver is not slowing, or don't work period. Left blinker will not work when headlights are on and improperly torqued fasteners may intermediate shaft and steering or lower control arm and lower ball joint to separate

2014 Chevy Impala LT - Best Car I've owned.Mine is a 2014 LT with the 2.5L 4Cyl. At approx 50,000 miles I had a small water pump leak that was fixed under warranty. AT approx 95,000 miles the A/C compressor locked up with the temps in the 95 - 100 degree range. I had the dealer fix this at a cost of over $1,400 to me. Overall though, it has been a very good car. Highway trips (at the speed limit) return 34 MPG which I feel is fine for this size of car and beats the EPA guestimate of 31 MPG highway. Always had the dealer maintain this car except for tires and a battery I had to replace. Hated it when Chevy announced they would no longer make it. At it's current 102,500 miles, it still runs fine. I'm retired now and I'm ready to trade it in on a new (2023) Traverse which will give me more room to haul some of my grandkids around and maybe even pull a small boat with. Inventory at this writing is pretty poor though. 8/7/2022

Airbag sensor is the only problem that I see wrongThe passenger side seat sensor comes on and active the airbag light saying there is some one in the passenger seat is setting there when no one is goes of and on all the time

Terrible car, very upset, very disappointedMy 2014 has only 45,000 miles on it and I paid $24,000 for it right off the show room floor and I can't even drive it. Stability and trak light came on and reduced engine power won't go over 45 mph. Replaced the computer along with a number of different things and it's the same. Very upset, very disappointed and I don't have any more money to even replace the darn car with another one.
