Jovan | March 31, 2025
The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is a full-size sedan that represents a significant step forward for the model. This generation, launched in 2014, offered a more stylish and refined alternative to its predecessors. Available as a four-door sedan, it came in LS, LT, and LTZ trims. Its spacious interior, comfortable ride, and available V6 engine made it a popular choice. The original MSRP ranged from approximately $27,000 to $37,000. It stood out for its blend of modern design and classic full-size comfort.
The Good

The 2015 Impala offers a blend of advantages. Practically, it provides a spacious cabin and a smooth, comfortable ride. The available V6 engine delivers satisfying performance. Emotionally, its stylish design and updated interior appeal to those seeking a more premium feel. It also boasts decent fuel efficiency for its size and represents good value for money.

The Bad

Potential weaknesses of the 2015 Impala include its relatively large size, which can make parking challenging. Some owners have reported issues with the MyLink infotainment system, particularly its responsiveness. Also, while the base engine is adequate, it can feel underpowered when the car is fully loaded. Early model year transmissions might have issues. Check for smooth shifting.

What Problems Does the 2015 Chevrolet Impala Have?

Frequently reported problems for the 2015 Chevrolet Impala include issues with the MyLink infotainment system, such as freezing, slow response times, and Bluetooth connectivity problems. Some owners have also reported issues with the automatic transmission, including rough shifting and hesitation, particularly in earlier production models.
Recalls for the 2015 Impala have addressed issues such as potential power steering failure, which could increase the risk of a crash. It's crucial to check the vehicle's VIN with the NHTSA to verify if all applicable recalls have been addressed.
Long-term reliability concerns often revolve around the longevity of the electronic components and the potential for increased repair costs as the vehicle ages. Specific to the 2014 and 2015 model years, there have been reports of premature wear in the front suspension components. Regular maintenance, including fluid changes and inspections, can help mitigate some of these concerns. Some owners also reported issues with the AC compressor. It's always advisable to get a pre-purchase inspection from a qualified mechanic to assess the overall condition of the vehicle.

How long will the 2015 Chevrolet Impala last?

With proper maintenance, a 2015 Chevrolet Impala can realistically provide 150,000 to 200,000 miles or 10-15 years of service. Factors like regular oil changes, timely fluid replacements, and addressing repairs promptly significantly impact longevity. Long-term durability can be affected by the automatic transmission and electronic components. Weaknesses may emerge in the suspension system and with the infotainment system's functionality over time, so checking these during pre-purchase is important. Preventative maintenance is key.

When you unlock or lock the doors there is a ticking noise that drives you insane some call it actuallator but it actually causes brain fog can it not be taken out of the 2015 Impala. Also I heard it will cause a problem with your heater and air conditioning. I hope this is not true but they need to be a recall for that
Fabfernesia
This car is very comfortable with great leg room front & back. The trunk is enormous as well, which I find awesome when traveling with my family & friends. Also, it’s great on gas and the speed is easy you don’t even realize your doing 80 mph because it glides and handle curves so easy!

2015 Chevrolet Impala Prices and Market Value

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala had a starting MSRP of around $27,000 to $37,000 when new, depending on the trim and options. Current used market prices generally range from $10,000 to $18,000, varying based on mileage, condition, and location. The Impala has experienced typical depreciation for a full-size sedan. Factors affecting resale value include mileage, overall condition, accident history, and the presence of desirable features like the V6 engine and advanced safety technologies. Lower mileage and well-maintained examples command higher prices.

2015 Chevrolet Impala Cost of Ownership

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala presents moderate ownership costs. Insurance premiums are generally average for its class. Fuel costs are reasonable, especially with the 4-cylinder engine. Maintenance costs are typical, but potential repairs on the transmission or infotainment system can increase expenses. Long-term, it is not exceedingly economical but isn't overly costly to own either, landing in the middle range for full-size sedans. Regular maintenance helps to prevent high repair costs.

2015 Chevrolet Impala Insurance

Insurance for a 2015 Chevrolet Impala is moderately priced, reflecting its status as a Sedan with strong safety ratings and
reasonable repair costs.

How Does the 2015 Chevrolet Impala Compare to Other Sedan?

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala competes with rivals like the Toyota Avalon, Ford Taurus, and Chrysler 300. In terms of performance, the Impala's available V6 engine is competitive, though the Taurus SHO offers more power. Feature-wise, the Impala holds its own, offering a modern infotainment system, but the Avalon provides a more refined interior.
Reliability-wise, the Toyota Avalon generally has a better track record than the Impala. The Chrysler 300 offers a bolder design and available all-wheel drive. Price-wise, the Impala is often more affordable than the Avalon.
Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Avalon for its reliability and resale value, and the Chrysler 300 for its styling and available V8 engine. For those prioritizing reliability above all else, the Avalon is a better choice. The Ford Taurus provides a similar size but with potentially more advanced tech features, although its fuel economy can suffer. The Impala offers a good balance of space, features, and affordability. It is worth researching each option to determine your best choice.

The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is a good choice for those seeking a spacious and comfortable full-size sedan at an affordable price. It's ideal for families needing ample passenger and cargo space, or anyone wanting a smooth ride for longer commutes. It's generally worth buying if found in good condition with a clean maintenance history. Opting for the LT or LTZ trims offers more features and the desirable V6 engine. Due to its age, buying used is the most practical option. Before purchasing, a thorough inspection is crucial to identify potential issues with the transmission or infotainment system and confirm any outstanding recalls have been addressed.

Worse car I ever owned

The vehicle looks good and has enough room for five, however I am close to paying the vehicle off with low miles and now I am experiencing electric malfunction such as the third brake light is out and it cost almost two hundred dollars to replace( ridiculous). The ambient sensor for the outside temperature is malfunctioning which causes the air conditioning to malfunction, I am in Las Vegas so xxxx is coming , with no air conditioning.
