The Good
The 2016 Challenger excels in performance, especially with its V8 options, offering thrilling acceleration. Its retro design evokes strong emotions, while its spacious cabin and comfortable ride appeal to practical needs. Reliability is generally good, and it offers excellent value for its performance capabilities. It's a statement car that's also surprisingly livable.
The Bad
The 2016 Challenger's size can be a drawback, making it less nimble than some rivals. Fuel economy, especially with the larger engines, is poor. Some owners have reported issues with the Uconnect infotainment system. Watch out for potential electrical glitches and ensure regular maintenance is performed on higher-performance models.

What Problems Does the 2016 Dodge Challenger Have?
Recalls for the 2016 Challenger have included concerns about potential fuel leaks, airbag malfunctions, and issues with the anti-lock braking system (ABS). Owners should check the NHTSA website for specific recall information related to their VIN.
Long-term reliability concerns mainly revolve around the longevity of the high-performance engines, particularly the Hellcat. Ensuring proper maintenance, including regular oil changes and adhering to the recommended service schedule, is crucial for preventing issues. Transmission issues, while not widespread, have been reported in some cases. Regular transmission fluid changes are recommended, especially for models driven aggressively. Some reports of paint quality issues have also surfaced.

What Technology & Safety Features are Included?
Safety features include standard antilock brakes, stability control, and multiple airbags. Optional safety features included forward collision warning and automatic high beams.
Crash-test ratings from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) generally give the 2016 Challenger a 5-star overall safety rating. The IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) ratings vary, but generally show good performance in moderate overlap front crash tests, but marginal performance in the small overlap front crash test. It's important to check specific ratings for the model year and trim level.
The technology in the 2016 Challenger is reasonable for its time, but may feel dated compared to newer vehicles. Uconnect is user-friendly, and the available safety features are helpful, but advanced driver-assistance systems are not as comprehensive as those found in newer cars.

How Does the 2016 Dodge Challenger Compare to Other Sedan?
Compared to the Mustang, the Challenger offers a more retro and muscular design, and a more comfortable ride. The Mustang excels in handling and offers a more modern interior. Compared to the Camaro, the Challenger offers better visibility and a more usable back seat. The Camaro is known for its sharper handling and more aggressive styling.
Alternatives to the Challenger could include the Dodge Charger (for similar styling but with four doors), the Nissan 370Z (for a sportier driving experience at a potentially lower price point, but with less practicality), or a used BMW 3 Series (for a blend of performance and luxury).
Whether it's better depends on individual preferences. The Challenger appeals to those prioritizing retro styling, comfort, and straight-line performance. The Mustang and Camaro are better suited for those seeking a more nimble and sporty driving experience.

The true classic muscle car...I had a Camaro before and if your not going to be racing on every stop light ( mustangs) then looks is everything. The car is gorgeous to look at, feels heavy when driving around but safer than the Chevy. Just let it roar and never mind your 0-60 times is about the big engine feeling. Just keep it classy and between the speed limits ... You already got the trophy.

IN YOUR FACE POWERI have the 2018 Challenger Scat Pack. It just wants to go! Touch the accelerator and POW! I also have an '09 Vette. They are both very powerful cars and both very comfortable...but they are very different. The Vette is a more refined sports car. The factory exhaust is quieter and it does get better mpg but when you hit the pedal it goes. The Scat Pack is a brute. If they were both animals I would describe them as...the vette would be a Cheetah, sleek, quiet and very fast, the Challenger is a Grizzly Bear.

Miles of smilesThe only downside to this car is your cheeks will hurt from the perma-smile that it puts on your face. It is the definition of awesome. Looks, feels, drives like a muscle car should and sends the competition home crying like a little school girl who just got a spanking and it separates the men from the boys in the world of cars.
