How Does the 2003 Chevrolet Malibu Compare to Other Sedan?
The Malibu's main advantage was its lower price point compared to the Japanese competitors. The Ford Taurus offered similar pricing and features but had a different styling approach. The Nissan Altima offered a sportier driving experience but could be less reliable.
Alternatives to consider include the Toyota Camry for superior reliability and resale value, or the Honda Accord for a better balance of performance and features. If budget is a primary concern, the Ford Taurus or Mercury Sable could be considered as similar alternatives, understanding each model has unique strengths and weaknesses. Ultimately, the Malibu offered a decent value proposition for those prioritizing affordability.

Has a few issuesI’ve had issues with the ac, kicking on and off resulting in a service vehicle soon but never gives a code. I’ve had trouble with the anti-theft system not allowing me to start my car at certain periods. I’ve replaced the idler pulley and tensioner pully to find out the alternator was going bad and needs replaced. This is a good reliable car but it does have some issues

Treat it right it will last forever...Mine was the more or less no-frills version, though I added quite a few aftermarket bits and bobs to it to improve it, such as a new stereo, back up cam, tire pressure monitor, etc. Installing modifications was relatively easy. The only semi-major problem in 60000 miles (from the 65k I started at) was a bad power window, which I was able to replace myself. I generally exceeded it's rated gas milages, and since I had the V6, it performed more than adequately for my needs. Treat it well, get decent add ons to make up for it's age, and it will last you a long time.

Poor choice on October 22, 2017
Best of them allBought it about 9 months old with 23,000 miles. One of the dealers didn't want to sell me. But the other salesman did. I fell in love with performance (105)mph on cruse control. I had it for 10 years. If I took care of it I would still have. Never cleaning the transmission so it drove to a car lot and got 500 trade in.
